It happened over 100 years ago, in the country of Shingrade. There were three princesses, upon their births each princess was given special powers and responsibilities. One born of Light, given the powers of light magics, as well as the ability to heal others. One born of the Earth, able to control the elements and summon the powers of natural tragedies. And One born of Darkness, able to preform light and dark magics, as well as given the manipulation over shadows. All three were worthy of gaining the throne so each was taught of how to become a true Queen and a righteous ruler over the people, to guard their hopes and their dreams. But...as they aged the three princesses grew to resent one another, for only one could take the crown and the other two were to be married to distant princes and be forced to leave their country that they were taught to only love and protect. Once they reached adulthood, their mother fell ill and she was now forced to choose which daughter she would crown as her successor.
Only weeks before her death, the Queen decided that the child of Darkness would be the one to rule in her place. Her ascension would not be made public until after the Queen passed on. Despite needing to hide it from the people, there was no need to hide it from the remaining princesses. The daughter of Darkness boasted about her being chosen, driving the daughter of Light in jealousy. Her rage became so fierce that she began to search and search for some way to ensure that her sister would not obtain the throne. One night she would find her answer.
As the daughter of Light looked over the books of dark magics she found a spell that would summon a demon. This demon would grant her one wish but it would come at a price, like all black magics seem to do. She thought she could pay it and summoned the demon, and she told him her wish. "I want to be sure that my sisters would never be able to take the throne." her words where taken by the demon and he cast his own magics. That very same night, their mother died in her sleep only having two daughters at her bedside. A few days later came the coronation, and just before the princess of Darkness was to walk out before her people to become their queen, the demon would cast his final spell. Before she could make another step, the entire castle was consumed in darkness, making the walls begin to crumble and all fingers pointed to the princess of Darkness to be the cause of it.
But that would not be the end of the spell, now that the Dark princess was seen as the enemy there was still the princess of Earth that needed to be dealt with. Vines came through the cracks in the walls and grabbed the people in attendance and crushing them. Blood and destruction ran through the castle and out stepped the princess of Light, who cast a spell to put an end to all the chaos. A hero the people called her but her glory was short lived, the demon rose from the shadows and he would now take his price. Under each princess, a flower bloomed the petals huge and capturing each princess within it. Once the girl was confined the flowers turned to solid stone, as did the girls. The price the princess of Light paid to the demon was, giving him control of their kingdom.
The demon has ruled over the kingdom since then, his terror great and his methods cruel. What the people need most, is some kind of savior, but only the princesses possessed the kind of power needed to vanquish such a foe. The demon foresaw this and he had sent each stone flower to a different part of the kingdom. The Princess of Earth was placed in the forest, vines binding it to the tree as grass and poison flowers consumed it. Deadly plants that could attack and devour any man who got too close. The Princess of Darkness was placed in the deepest cave in the kingdom, the darkness holding unholy beings never to see the light of day, and if one ventured into it. They would never see light again. And finally the Princess of Light was taken to a mountain top where she could bask in the light of sunrise despite being covered in snow. Mountain dwelling wolves roam the peeks searching for a good meal of human flesh.
Despite the dangers, a group of five outcasts have chosen to be the ones to awaken the princesses and bring an end to the demon's rule. Will they succeed in their quest, or will they perish by the many dangers that lay ahead of them. Or will their greatest enemy be each other? Their fate is to be decided by the twists and turns of their journey..that is, if you're willing to tag along in this tale.
