A tawny colored rabbit was busily nibbling on some clover, ears perked as it lifted its little head every now and then to scan for danger. It was a sunny day, birds twittering overhead and a light wind rustling through the trees.
Behind a bushel of brush, a stark white doe peppered with crimson was watching intently. She'd been stalking her prey since morning, and now she was so close to victory she could almost taste it. Her shoulders tensed and bunched, her tail giving a swish before she sprang and gave chase to the startled little creature.
She ran with all she had, changing direction on a dime to follow the rabbits quick movements. She cleared a fallen log, going into territory that was unfamiliar to her. The rabbit swerved, zig-zagging through the trees before ducking into a burrow and disappearing out of her sight.
"No!" Bleed let out in a frustrated shout, skidding to a stop before the burrow and stomping her hoof with a huff, catching her breath as she looked around. Where was she? She didn't recognize this part of the swamp...

He was back in the swamp, not the edges like before. It seemed there had been more activity towards the desert side, not to mention that owlcat he had saved. Finally it was quiet for him and the scaled face buck was just settling down to take a nap in the shade of a tree.
As he laid down, Piercing Gaze heard the sounds of an animal crashing through the brush. Figuring it was the normal hunt of the predators, he went back to closing his eyes, until the shout. Nothing other than one of their own could make that sound and be that upset. A groan escaped, getting up the buck went to find the cause of the noise.
Gazing at her with his blue eyes, "May I help you?" Body language said he was not happy to see another and this one looked lost. Tail flicking, he waited.

"I don't need help!" Bleed snapped without thinking, lashing her tail to and fro angrily like an agitated feline. She blinked, her tail slowing as she realized she wasn't alone out here.
Her glittering onyx eyes moved over to the scaled buck, and the first thing she noticed were his eyes. A bright, glowing sky blue.
"S-sorry." Bleed muttered, a bit embarrassed, shuffling her hooves nervously. "Didn't mean to snap. I've been following that rabbit all day waiting for the perfect moment..." She sighed softly before giving a little laugh. "Well, there's always tomorrow." She turned to face the buck fully now, the burrow no longer holding her attention.
"What are you doing all alone out here?" She asked curiously with the slight tilt of her head.

That was not what he expected. He shook his head, "Well if that is the case." Turning his body, Gaze noticed that she seemed put out of place. Sighing, he waited to see what else the doe had to say.
"Rabbits are tricky critters to get. Even with help." Tail swishing as he thought of the owlcat that claimed him as its protector and getting all the food. "Is that all that brought you out here? A rabbit?" Getting a better look at her, Gaze took in the horns and hair. It took him a bit and he barely schooled his face as it came she had no back spines. Not that he had room to speak, but he was smooth and she had something different.
A grin started as a deep chuckle was let out. "Alone? It is how I prefer, though I seem to be getting more company lately." He gave a sarcastic bow, "Welcome to my home."

She gave a funny little scrunch of her nose at him and his bow, amused by this buck. "Yes, it was just the rabbit. I told you, I've followed it here all the way from the Bonemarshes."
"I'm usually quite successful during my hunts- but you can't get them all, I suppose." She gave him a charming half-smile, her tail giving a curious swish.
"Is it fun out here all by yourself? What do you do?"

His eyes crinkled at the corners, she was different, pleasantly so and it made him wonder. "You traveled far, if I remember correctly." Looking over his shoulder, "There is some water that way. In the shade."
"Nobody is that good, to get them every time. Even with a companion." He gave a nod for her to walk along side towards the cooler area. Her question had him reeling. What could he tell her that might get him out of this spot. "It isn't that bad. What do you do?"

She smiled, following him towards the shady grove, craning down her elegant head to drink deeply from the cool pool of water, grateful for the relief. He gave a satisfied sigh after lifting her head, the red scaled on her back glittering as they caught the streams of sunlight through the trees.
"Not that bad? I imagine it gets rather boring at times..." Her voice trailed off, ears perking at his next question. "I'm a Hunter for a small group of us that live in the Bonemarshes. I've hunted ever since I was a filly."
