User Image Arah was reluctant to speak to her girlfriend. Arah had a lot on her mind, mostly her parents breakup and if she even wanted to return home. Home? What was home? A place that used to be full of life and a family she adored..... or a broken family with people she hadn't seen in deities knows how long. She had so much to think about, and now she dreaded the realization that she needed to talk to Naomi about these thoughts.

Now, don't get her wrong, she loved Naomi dearly! But the girl was stubborn and Arah already knew how the conversation would go. Yet, the blue-haired vixen knew it was best to speak to her partner. It was only the right thing to do.... and she didn't want to become like her parents. She didn't want to lose Naomi due to communication issues. She much rather deal with the stubborn arguing than dwell on this any longer.

So, she made her way to her girlfriends home. Climbing up the warehouse stairs, the vixen spotted the sleeping woman. Her tail wagged merrily as she padded up to the mattress where Naomi rested, wiggling her brown nose and tapping Naomi's cheek with it. "Hey sweetie. Wakey wakey."

User Image Naomi had sensed something was wrong. Ever since Arah visited last week and seemed.... off. However, Arah refused to speak and Naomi refused to pester her. She wasn't about to harass her girlfriend, and so she waited. Waiting wasn't exactly fun, but she knew eventually Arah would open up. It was just.... taking a lot longer than she hoped.

But she got it, honestly. Arah had recently witnessed her family break apart. Naomi had never seen such a thing before. Sure, her sisters were off doing deities know what, but at least they were still a family. Arah had grown up with her family, and now they were gone. Just like that. Arah no longer had mated parents, and now the girl probably questioned the stability of her family. It made sense why she' be off lately, and while Naomi would be there to offer support she wasn't about to ram it down her girlfriends throat unless asked to.

Still. When was the last time she saw Arah? Ah, last week. They had made an agreement for Arah to visit sometime in the middle of the week, and perhaps Naomi should have cleaned the place, but instead she decided to sleep in. What was nicer than being woken up by your pretty girlfriend?

Speaking of! A wet nose nuzzled her cheek and Naomi was startled awake. Blinking blearily, the quiet vixen flicked her tongue out to lick the familiar vixen's cheek before running nails through her hair. "Hey. How was the trip?"

Arah giggled gently as Naomi woke up, accepting the lick and wiggling onto the mattress and snuggling into the others side. She tossed her hood off with a flick of her head before resting her muzzle ontop of the others neck, humming gently in satisfaction.

"Good, actually! I saw a chicken on the way!" She merrily chirped back before nipping Naomi's ear gently. Her ears flicked in thought, green eyes narrowing absently before she let out a soft, gentle sigh.

"Say. Heard from your sisters lately?" Arah had always been curious about Naomi's family. Mostly because she had yet to meet them. Naomi had said multiple times they were similar in appearance to her, but the girl didn't find that a satisfying description. Also, maybe it was time for Arah to get curious about Naomi's family. Naomi knew plenty of her own, after all. Arah thought it only right she question Naomi's!

Naomi just gave Arah a glance. A clear message of: "Really. A chicken." However, she simply rolled her eyes and batted her hand at the other, letting it go. Of course it'd be Arah who saw such a thing. It was Arah. That was enough said about that subject. If only Naomi knew what caused such a weird little vixen in the first place. She blamed the girls parents.

Speaking of family... Arah's question caught Naomi off guard. With a flick of her ears and a grunt, Naomi almost dismissed the question entirely. Shouldn't she be the one asking the other? Wasn't it Arah who now had a divorced parental set and was avoiding home these days? So why was Arah asking about Naomi's family?

"They're fine." She grunted back, focusing on her girlfriend with a stubborn frown."The real question, Arah, is how is your family. And how are you?" Softening the question with a nuzzle to the neck, Naomi pulled back and kept her frown. It had been too many weeks of Arah just avoiding the questions and situation completely. She needed to speak, or else the girl would just bottle her emotions up and explode. Naomi was not going to allow this to happen if she had any say about it.

The glance only caused a snort from Arah. Yes. A chicken. She just knew the grumpy other would give her that look, and fine! Naomi could doubt her all she liked, but Arah knew what she saw! A real live, brown, short little chicken! She saw it, really!

The grunt caused a tiny frown to form on Arah's lips. Oh. She was in trouble, she just knew it from that tiny little sound. Naomi was upset about something, and now Arah was going to be lectured, wasn't she? Preparing for the blow, Arah gave her cutest, prettiest little puppy eyes before it melted completely when Naomi spoke again.

What.

The blue-haired woman widened her eyes and just stared. She wasn't sure what to say. Should she just spill out her troubles now? Or should she shut up, smile, and say everything was fine? Naomi wasn't an emotional creature..... she'd fall for it, right?

But, it was probably time she was honest to her.

"Uh." Yes, because "uh" was a good response. Clearing her throat, the vixen rolled her shoulders and faced away from Naomi, grumbling lowly within her throat. Honesty sucked.

".....Mom and dad are still broken up. And I don't know where I stand with my siblings." She mumbled quietly, glancing towards the rainbow-haired blonde for a second. "I.... I'm not sure if home is even home anymore." And it was true. What was a home that had no one you loved in it except a broken family who no longer cared for one another? And maybe that wasn't the case, but she didn't know otherwise. Maybe her family was mended. Maybe it was struggling. All she knew was that no one would tell her anything, and she could only assume and put the pieces together with her eyes and ears.

So what did she know? Maybe her mother was home again. Maybe her father had a new woman. Ick. That thought was enough to send a white hot shiver down her spine. Her father with someone else? That.... was a foreign and horrible thought, and she knew a possibility.

Anyone could break up. Even her and Naomi could, right? It'd make sense, seeing as how Arah lived almost 50 miles away and only visited once every few weeks. Naomi was a city girl, Arah a country one. It'd make sense.... right? A sense she didn't like, but perhaps it was the logical sense that Naomi favored.
