So, there were rumors floating about the tree's halls recently. They spoke not of the ruling power and his council, or, well, they did indirectly, but instead of the personal lives of two more flamboyant faun living within it. A certain princess of the night with a voice that demanded to be heard and her children's father, the second in command, the Adviser. The pairing seemed to make sense and was generally approved; after all, each were very powerful and important personalities. The question remained, however... Were they simply together because of the circumstances brought upon them because of Venus's dance, or did feelings remain?

Even Celestia could notice how close the two of them appeared these days, bickering without care to those around them over the silliest of concerns. Acting like that, as Luna always seemed to do, would do no less that divert all passing attention to the scene.

She was the sister of one of the ones spoke of. She deserved to be the first to know! With determination in her heart, the princess knocked softly on the door to her sister's home, a small bag in her hand holding sweets for the children.

It failed to occur to Luna that most of the time she spent these days were with her children and Stallion Justmo. They were not an official 'couple' by any means and yet sometimes it felt this way. Or at least, that was to say, things felt -normal- finally and the dark princess welcomed the feeling. She had no real clue yet just how deeply Mo may have felt for her, just that he was willing to put up with her, be around her and be there for the kids and so Luna accepted that without question.

But as the days went on, the dark princess paused for thought in that she had not seen much of her sister since then. A few brief passing in the tree or whenever Celestia dropped by to help out with the kids. The two had not spent time together as just sisters in a long while and the feeling that time shared together washed over Luna as being long over due. She had no clue what Celestia had even gone through during the valentines event, just the inkling that something lay unsettled with her sister and that it was a touchy subject. She had begun to think of a time when she could possibly break away to meet with the lighter princess when a knock sounded at her door.

Pausing in folding sheets for the little one's beds, Luna made her way to the door of her room of the tree, that Justmo and the kids slept in since it was bigger than Mo's "office room", and peered out. Blinking in surprise, almost as if her sister had heard her very thoughts, she looked confused for a moment. "Sister dearest, what brings you here?" she tilted her head before noticing the bag in her sisters hands and a soft smile spread across her face. "I was just thinking of how we have not seen much of each other lately..... do come in? she asked, stepping aside to let her sister in with a warm welcome, possibly one of the few people she had no trouble remembering to open up too.

"Oh? That is simply the most exciting of coincidences, is it not?" Smiling, Celestia motioned to the bag in her hands by lifting it. "I have brought some treats for your little ones. Bread, of the sweet variety, just as they enjoy it." As much as she wished to have children of her own, even more so now that her adoptive daughter had grown older and the princess had less time to visit her outside of the tree, she took out her desires by spoiling her sister's. The kids milked her good intentions so much, but not too much so as to let her realize this, with their frequent visits for snacks and drinks. Every once in a while they would even get to hear stories, debatably against their will, about Equestria and how she and their mother used to rule by night and day.

It was enjoyable, yes, but she, too, had noticed that the time they had spent alone, she and her sister, was nearly none. More time was spent with her friends, with Belvah and Vanya, or alone than in her family's company.

This simply would not do.

Walking in, Celestia looked around at the alcove, nodding a couple of times. It was bigger than her own, but that was to be expected considering it now held three little ones as well. "Yes, I am in agreement. It has been far to long since we had time to ourselves." She was personally unaware about Mo also using the quarters as his living space; such a thing would be a 'red flag' likely confirming the rumors going around. Turning to look at her she asked, "Where would you prefer I set these down?" before pausing and, with a renewed smile, continuing, "Are things fairing well for you, sister?"

Luna managed a soft smile as she invited her sister inside. "Most exciting indeed, twaz as if we were meant to be in one another's company today. Please sister, make yourself at home." she said and shut the door behind her after Celestia had entered, picking up a few of the kid's things and placing them out of the way. She had really learned how to pick up in a hurry with these three little ones around... not that she was messy before. But now it required even more attention and she felt she was getting better at this whole mother thing.

Turning to peer at the bag and then around her room, she motioned to a counter that was higher out of the kids reach. "Oh they will most enjoy this special treat. You can set them here if you'd like. Stallion Justmo has taken them out around the tree so they will be back later." she nodded, clearing a space for the bag of goodies. She then looked back to her sister, her smile as bright as the dark princess could manage. "It has been difficult, I can not lie, but I am adjusting." she admitted, truthfully. At first she was not sure how she would do this mother thing. What her head told her to do was different than what her heart was saying but now the two seemed to cooperate on a peaceful ground. "How are things with you dear sister? Justmo has told me of some rather unfortunate events within this..... inner circle as he calls it. You are close with two of them, are you not?" she tilted her head curiously.

The princess followed her sister's gestures, setting the bag of sweets on the counter as she suggested. "I certainly hope so! Much time was spent in preparing them." She smiled back, placing a quick hand on her shoulder before letting it drop back down. "That is wonderful to hear. Certainly JustMo and the little ones have much to do with regard to this." Even though she had been, and still admittingly was, jealous, her sister really had grown into this mothering role.

Ah... The circle... Yes, there were many rumors floating around about it as well, most of them confirmed by her friends. "Do you refer to the unfortunate event of the pathfinder leaving?" She paused, waiting to choose her words carefully. "But... That is to be expected, if not a surprisingly lenient consequence, of her engagement outside of the faun." Another pause as she nodded. "Yes, I have befriended two: the seer Vanya, and the chieftess Belvah." A very small smirk played on her lips. "As you have had one bear your children, sister dearest."

Luna blushed softly and smiled. "I can not lie to you sister, Justmo and the children have been a..... welcome change." she said softly, looking at her hands and rubbing them together before gathering cups and brewing a pot of tea for their visit. She had heard her sister had taken an intense liking to it as of late. "May I offer you a cup?" she asked though she knew the answer and waited not for it.

Ah yes the pathfinder, that was what they called the position.... still rather strange. "Yes the.... pathfinder... I had heard things from Justmo. Non pleasant things.... marrying outside the faun is supposed to be a great offense. From what Justmo has told me that he has heard at the council meetings, a faun would have to be simply daft to marry these...... blood pae." she said and wrinkled her nose a bit. Clearly she was adopting this same beliefe. "They don't even look like us!" she shrugged, pouring the tea carefully into two cups, taking one for her and one for her sister.

Handing the cup to her sister, she smiled her normal smile. "Condemned Marriages.....Seems this land is just as eventful as our own." she half laughed before handing her sister a warm filled cup.

"Oh, certainly!"

If not for the many years spent perfecting showing a face different that what she felt, Celestia would have likely shown a reaction to what her sister said. Each thing seemed to be said about her specifically, even if they spoke about another. Offensive... Daft... Surely it was not as horrible as they said. Yes, they looked different, and their culture was likely different, but even the faun culture, her original heritage's culture, had seemed strange when they first arrived. She was sure that, if they could get past these physical differences and instead look into the heart of the pae... Well... Who knew what would happen?

This was not the moment to be showing any sympathy for them, however, as it risked arousing her sister's suspicions. "There is little but contempt and distrust given to them... How could one of us even think such a thing possible?" The only sign that she may by hiding something was in her ability to look her sister directly in the eyes; instead, she seemed to be looking somewhere just past her. Most would not even recognize the difference.

Taking the cup happily, she brought it closer to her nose to smell it. "Ah... wonderful...~" She blew on the top to help it cool. "It certainly appears as such."

Luna paused and looked at her sister. Her gaze seemed off, almost distant, but so many things ran through Luna's mind of her own happenings that she chose to shrug it off for the time being. However, her tone of voice changed, more to a cautious if not concerning one. "I am not sure.... If I may be honest sister, I do not yet understand many of the things in this last.. I only know what Justmo tells me and from that I gather how I think he expects me to feel..." she paused and tilted her head, staring into her cup of tea, watching the liquids move and swish. How he expects her to feel.... that could have so many meanings. She fought back a blush and shook her head.

"I have only met one... a demon I think they call them. She was kind... apart from that I have only seen others at their strange version of Hearts and Hooves day..." she paused, which brought her to remember something she had been wanting and meaning to ask her sister for a long time. "You have never told me, Sister, what happened to you that night.... I have heard from Princess Cadence her tales, and well my own were quite obvious. But you... you have not told me much of anything Sister." she blinked at her lighter colored sister, tilting her head curiously, trying to remember if she had seen her sister much that night but it all seemed such a blur. Knowing her sister, she would not be surprised if nothing at all out of the ordinary had happened... Celestia was still in her eyes, a force to be reckoned with. It was the farthest thing in her mind to think her very own dear sister was keeping secrets from her, and so she smiled softly, waiting to see what the other had to say.

Nodding, Celestia took a sip of her tea, pausing before setting it back down. "I believe that there is far too much of this culture that is unlike our own. I, too, am having difficulty acclimating, but I do so to the best of my ability and with my two new friends. They really are very kind to me, as I am sure JustMo is to you, sister." Hmm... Her sister really seemed to be showing more that just affection for the Chief's adviser. Perhaps the rumors really were true...

"Ah, that event? I heard of it, yet I hadn't the time to go. A shame, really..." she sighed, shrugging. "Was it enjoyable?" This small talk was really nice, but the princess had a purpose, something she meant to ask. Her sister beat her to the punch, however, with questions of her own. Her face hardening to a small smile, she shook her head. "It was fairly uneventful compared to your own happenings. We simply went through the maze, originally with Princess Cadence and Shining, before parting ways in the clearing. They stayed while my escort and I searched for a way out. We were..." she faltered ever so slightly. We were ambushed by a god and our souls were bound in matrimony. "...eventually rescued from those paths and returned to the ball." It simply killed her to intentionally lie to Luna, but she didn't want to worry her with the knowledge. Eventually she would tell her everything, but not now.

The darker princess tilted her head at first. Nothing happened to her sister, really? Well, the idea wasn't so far fetched she supposed, but thinking in comparison at what happened to her and what happened to a lot of the other faunies and fauns that attended... it just seemed strange. But perhaps..... "It would seem the sun had favored you then, my dear sister. I am glad nothing terrible happened to you, lest I would worry worse than a storm." she nodded before staring back into her cup and taking another sip of her tea, silently contemplating things.

"I think, next time, I shall ask to remain at home..." and lock up Stallion Justmo and the children to prevent them from going too. she added silently in her mind while shaking her head, her billowing space mane flowing more than usual from it. And yet, she paused to think to herself. "I.... am glad I went though. Is this a strange thing to say Sister? For I would not have the kids if I did not....." she said and the paused and blushed slightly. Memories of that.... crazy night coming back to her.

Oh how is just killed the princess to have to continue this outright lie. When the day came that she had to admit to her wrongdoings, when she could finally explain everything to everyone, it would lift such a pressure from her. Hopefully she would understand the situation and wouldn't anger, though it would be understandable if she did. "We shall make an evening of it for ourselves; you, I, Cadance and Shining, Sir JustMo and the little ones. I imagine it will be quite enjoyable with such a company." At least it would keep everyone out of trouble. Maybe they could even invite Belvah and Vanya to join... that would be fun too!

Shaking her head, Celestia shrugged. "Fate is quite fickle, Sister, and expresses its wishes in many a subtle way. What may have outwardly appeared a nightmare could hide the dream within." Pausing, she added as an afterthought. "Were it not for that Ball of the St. Valentine, there would be none for me to dote on with my sweets. After their meals, naturally."

At the mention of an evening for themselves, the other Princess invited, Justmo and the kids, Luna couldn't help but smile, as if for a few brief moments, her worries had simply vanished. "I most like the thought of that, sister. An evening together... with family." she paused, listening to the rest her sister had to say.

Indeed, fate seemed to be very fickle, but she couldn't help but find herself in agreement with what her sister had to say. Though she looked at much more of the events in their lives than just one crazy night at a ball. More particularly, she was looking back on the day that the decision was made to leave Equestria forever and travel to a new home. Though the dark princess had now tucked such feelings away, occasional dreams and feelings of her old home and showed themselves every now and then. "I suppose then.... the choice to leave our old home contained dreams for many." she mused thoughtfully with a soft sigh.

Oh yes... Their homeland... How long had passed since they first set off on that journey into unforeseen waters with only a calling, a feeling, to guide them? Or, even more, since their hooves had first taken steps within the tree's halls; when they had first learned of their ancestral ties to the faun, their brethren? It seemed but a distant memory. Vivid, lifelike, wondrous, yes, but a memory nonetheless. "Your words hold truth, sister... All that is current with our, and our ponies', lives depended on our journey away from our homeland."

To her sigh she produced a soft smile of her home. "Nature is aware of all I would forsake to be able to once again raise the sun with the scent of wildflowers among the sky's winds. Or... To be assured that those who chose to stay remain in good health and spirit..." Her voice drifted off, as it often did when her thoughts turned to worry.

As her sister spoke of raising the sun, feeling the early morning breeze and the scents it carried with it, Luna was, too, reminded of her duty to raise the moon. Seeing the stars awaken and taking in the first crisp chill of night. "Once, I would have dared to leave it all to go back..." she said, pausing briefly, a soft smile playing at her lips. "But now...I am not so sure." she nodded, whisking away the memories, setting her cup down and moving over towards her sister.

Changing her tone to a more lively one, she reached out to embrace her sister in a hug, just for the simple sake that she could, to feel the warmth of her sister near her. "I sense a bright future for us all Sister dearest, I'm sure there is no need to worry." she nodded, pulling back from the hug. Mentally, she hoped her words were true, not sure she fully believed them for herself, at least, not quite yet. But if the after math of one crazy situation could turn into something good, perhaps they would be lucky enough to find it true in other situations?

What little diversion her mood had taken was immediately lifted as she felt the warmth of her sister's arms around her body. Smiling, Celestia returned the embrace. How long had it been since they had done just this little gesture? "I, too, believe that only good things shall come in the future." Even when Luna pulled back, Celestia left her hands on her sister's arms her mouth locked in a warm, confident smile. "I can feel in in my heart; here is where we, the faunies, are meant to be." Letting her hands return to her lap, the smile remained. There was no real reason that she should feel so strongly about this, but if was as if someone else were whispering in her ear, telling her that only good would come of this.

Laughing, she playfully added, "And should the day ever seem difficult, we will always remain near one another to ease the suffering."
