Today was an amazing day.
Now that she was Old Enough, Candy Dandy was being allowed to run the store part of the bakery by herself. As in, with no help. From anyone. Not even her mom who was safely cooking away in the kitchen. Or her siblings, who had yet to grow.
Nope, she was going to stock, handle customers, and pour various coffee and milks all on her own. And she was going to rock it!
Candy made sure to get up bright and early so that she could get ready and make sure her mane was brushed, her hooves clean and her cutie mark polished and beautiful. When she flipped the sign to the bakery from "closed" to "open", she expected a stampede, and was rewarded with a little more than a small trickle of phonies coming in.
Until lunch. Then they came in droves, causing her to run around behind the counter while they spoke loudly and asked for a myriad of different things. She felt sweat start to bead on her brow, and worked her curly tail off getting as much food out the door as possible.
That was an hour ago. Now, she was just finishing recovering and had began to straighten up and restock her shelves. The doughnuts were all but gone, and the chocolate chip cookies desperately needed refilling. She hummed while she worked, placing a few things in at a time and standing back to admire her work.
