Barley sniffed at the contents in one of three jugs and snorted, shaking her head. This wasn't working. She put the jug back in the fridge and walked out of her mama's house, ready to find a few test subjects. Kit had already ran off before she could ask, perhaps she need some fresh faces giving her experiments a try.
Foals, where were all the foals?

Triumph was a fairly new phony to phonyland. She hadn't found her place yet and had mostly been wandering around and looking at stuff. She vaguely remembered a contest and popping out as one of the prizes but since phonies were all weird anyway she didn't think her origins were all that dissimilar. Currently she was flapping a few feet off the ground in front of the candy shops window and just staring at the pretty candy.

Barley finally decided to go to the candy shop, after all, if she wanted to find other foals, then where else? She spotted a purple filly flying over head head. Stepping aside she smiled. " Hello! Think you can help me?"

Huh? Someone was talking underneath her. And they were supposedly talking to her. She looked down to see a green earth filly. "Hi!" She hovered another moment and then landed down beside her. Being helpful sounded like more fun that window shopping without money. "What do you need help with?"

"Well, am tryin' to make a sweet drink for foals, ya know, but I ain't got much of a sweet tooth meself." Barley smiled. "I was wonderin' if ya wouldn't mind trying a few samples and tell me wha cha think about 'em."
She paused. "Oh, am Barley, by the way!"

She cocked her head as she listened. A drink for foals? Oh! She meant something without alcohol. That sounded fun. "I'm Triumph. Tri for short. I'd be glad to help you. What are you trying to make?"

"Nice to meet ya, Tri! Come on, follow me." She started to walk back towards her mama's stable. "Well, the book calls it Butterbeer, don't try makin' beer out of butter, tho. It don't work."
"Anyways, I gonna keep the name, but it ain't beer" She grinned and pointed at the kiddie table on the front yard. "Sit here while I go get the samples, a'right?"

She cocked her head as she followed this new female. "Does it at least taste buttery?" She was genuinely confused but willing to help. She sat and then looked expectantly towards Barley. "It's not going be to completely inedible is it?"

"It should taste a itty bitty bit like butter." She hoped, anyways. Coming back with a tray with four different samples, she frowned at the second question. "Well...none are gonna kill ya, but you can spit it out if it taste real bad" She pointed at a trashcan. "But I think these will be great!"
