Arusi couldn't believe how dull it'd been without Kerer. She'd yet to run into anyone interesting and was slowly losing hope. Maybe going off on her own wasn't the best of ideas? She hated being wrong though... she could stick it out! She was tough... heck, she was the toughest... meanest... most awesome lioness around! The thought put a slightly cocky smile back on her maw as she strolled through some tall grasses. Her white tipped tail flicked a bit, her body was low to the ground and she moved carefully enough. Maybe she just hadn't run into anyone interesting because she was so good at stealth movements? Probably. Yes, that was certainly the reason!

Of course... it was late in the day and her reasoning hardly made any sense. She had a starry pelt after all! A pelt perfect for the darker nights in the savannah, minus the few splotches of white. If she'd learned anything useful from Kerer it would be that mud was definitely your friend! She could just roll around in it a bit and low and behold, the white was disappeared! She snorted though, shaking her head slowly and dully. Who cared about Kerer? She could have figured out the usefulness of mud on her own anyways!

She was coming to a low hill so she slowed to almost a stop and let her gaze wander around. In the distance she could see some vague shapes... too far away for her to bother with. They weren't worth the long trek in the hot sun. The heat used to never really bother her... but it seemed like the longer she was away from the homelands the more like Kerer she'd become; she would much rather have been laying in some nice, cool mud. "There I go again." She muttered to herself.

She was just bored. And kind of lonely... Kerer had been her only friend since she'd been a cub... even though that had gone kind of sour. She was reluctantly willing to admit that it was her fault, at least in part. She didn't know how to fix things though... or if she wanted to actually fix them. And if she did want to fix things did she maybe want to tell him... probably not? Though maybe. She could be brave and just let him know, couldn't she? Or she could just skip trying to fix things all together and tell him and that would be that... she would probably never see him again.

Her ears flicked back, feeling slightly annoyed with herself. It was like the longer she was away from Kerer and the longer she spent not running into other lions meant the more she thought about the infuriating male. She would need to remedy this situation very quickly.

After checking around the lands just once more she started to make her way up to the top of the hill. It would be a good vantage point... heck, maybe she would just make her way toward the shapes she saw in the distance. Lions... not lions, what did it matter at this point? She really just needed someone to talk to! Soon she would be in luck... because this was just the way things happened in life. You were either lucky, and coincidence struck, or you remained lonely and pining for one form of company or another.

When she reached the top of the less than impressive hill she stretched out her achy limbs and yawned before seating herself and wrapping her tail around her paws. She moved her head slowly from one side of the horizon to the other... and a smile broke onto the rather listless look on her face. There! Not too far off she could see two inky coated lions. One definitely had bright strips of gold lacing through his dark pelt... the other had a few tiny splashes of white apparent on his.

This was wonderful, perfect! She'd gone for so long hoping to run into someone and now she got two lions for the price of one! She would curse the gods if they were boring though... dung beetles! She really hoped they weren't boring now. They were probably going to be boring, more boring than even Kerer could be! That would be the worse!

Her nose wrinkled as she contemplated whether to actually go meet them or not; it was not long before her loneliness out weighed her weariness for a less than entertaining companion. "Oi, you lot there!" She called out and grinned, making her way down the other side of the hill. Good, this was good. This had to be good, right? Like usual the chance that the lions might not be friendly lions... or that they were down right vicious and violent lions... never crossed her mind. She definitely was not very good at putting situations into context or thinking of alternative ways things could go down. Usually she thought that an encounter would be either boring or very entertaining, and nothing in between or no the other side of the spectrum. Kerer had always been the lion to worry about things like that... without Kerer by her side she had become reckless once again.

She had all the confidence any lion had any right to though, and if things did turn sour quickly she could always just run away. She definitely was confident in her speed- her small frame was naturally built to move more quickly than a lot of lionesses. Definitely faster than lazy lions! Many of whom didn't hunt or run at all, if they could help it. Even from the slightly longer than short distance away from the two males she could basically tell that they weren't very fit. One was definitely larger than the other... but they sort of looked skinny to her. Not bulky like a full grown male should look. She snorted and rolled her eyes a little at that. Whatever, tough times in the savannah and all that!

Hopefully a promising conversation awaited her!
