The sun had reached its peak, and was slowly coming down to the west when Candy Dandy finally wiped her brow with a frosting covered hoof and stared at her creations with new found love. The cookies were piled high around the filly, creating a cloud of yummy smell that she reveled in. Her mother had charged her with creating a cookie for summer and after much consideration, she settled on lemon cookies with white chocolate chips. Now that there was enough to go around, Candy scooted them onto trays and took them to the front of the bakery, placing them in the display case for cookies and the extras in a basket. It was time for free samples! She left the bakery, basket in her mouth, prancing through the town in search of those who looked like they could use a pick-me-up.

For once, Jolly Rancher had some free time to devote to herself. Sure, she could use that time to seek out other ponies who might need her help, but sometimes it was good to be a bit selfish, too. During the past few days Jolly had busied herself by helping out her parents and their friends with little things like cleaning the house or running errands. Now was a good time for indulgence.
She flicked her tail and walked around carefully with a basket in her mouth. Jolly still wasn’t quite used to her new appearance after…that. But it seemed the others weren’t blatantly staring at the very least, which did wonders for her self-esteem. The foal stopped suddenly when she picked up a peculiar smell. It…It smelled delicious! Nostrils flaring as she sniffed, Jolly chose to follow the scent.Blue Eyed Melloon Sorry for the delay! Trying to get back into the tagging business orz

She had walked a couple blocks when she realized that somephony was following her. Not directly of course, but in a meandering way that suggested she was following something other than her eyes. Her ears bent backwards and caught the sound of hoofsteps. Candy paused and looked back at the other filly, noticing that she also carried a basket in her mouth. She turned and faced her, placing the basket on the ground and waving her hoof wildly. "Hello there!" she called out, beckoning the foal over to where she stood.

So engrossed in her search for the scent, Jolly didn’t realize that somephony had already picked up on her presence. The filly nearly jumped when the older phony waved her over, but managed to at least keep a firm hold on her own basket. She leaned back shyly at first, but then perked up and happily trotted over.
She leaned down to drop her basket. “Hey! I just noticed this nice smell and couldn’t help myself…” Jolly smiled sheepishly, her tail flicking back and forth.

Candy Dandy smiled a smile that practically shut her eyes when the pale foal decided to come over. She hoped that she wasn't being overly creepy, giving treats to a young'un, but they were outside in broad daylight! There was no way that somephony would think this strange... "What you are smelling is a lemon and white chocolate chip cookie." she informed the other, revealing the delicious treats in the basket. "I made them myself; they just went on sale at the bakery" She pointed her hoof over to where the building stood. Candy noticed that her eyes seemed a little....pale. She blinked a couple of times, thinking it to be the sun, but found them unchanging. Strange.... "Uhm, may I ask why your eyes are so pale?" she ventured, hoping she wouldn't offend her possibly-new-friend.

Candy Dandy could have been anyphony but the dreaded kelpie and Jolly Rancher would have gladly approached her anyways. She was a sweet foal that liked to give phonies benefit of the doubt, but sometimes somephony had to remind her that being a bit cautious wasn’t a bad thing either.
“Oh!” Pale eyes lit up with curiosity. She had yet to try different types of cookies. “How much are they? If you don’t mind, I’d like to try one.” Jolly kept her eyes focused on the baked goods in her basket.
Then her ears flattened. “Oh. Um. Yes. That was uh…” The foal paused, her tail flicking nervously. “It was an incident,” she answered vaguely. “It doesn’t…bother you, does it?”

Oh dear. She upset the other foal. Candy's ear lowered as well, and she waved her hooves in front of her face rapidly. "Oh nononono! It doesn't bother me at all! I'm sorry I even brought it up!" Now things were awkward! "I was just curious why, but I can see that it is a hard thing to talk about. Forget I even mentioned it!" She rubbed the back of her head anxiously, giggling. "Oh! Um, right, the cookies!." Candy's demeanor changed to a happier one almost instantly. "You don't have to pay for it! Especially after I made you all uncomfortable like." She fished a cookie out of the basket and offered it to Jolly Rancher. "I'm Candy Dandy by the way. What's your name?"

Her ears were still flattened when she meekly asked, “Are you sure?” But as Candy went on to explain, Jolly crept a bit out of her shell again, offering the older phony a tentative smile. “It’s okay,” she reassured, “a few others have been asking about it too, so I don’t mind too much. It’s just…yeah…”
Jolly’s pale eyes lit up. “Really?” she asked excitedly, tail flicking back and forth. “Thank you so much!” She gladly took the cookie and deposited it into her own basket. “Oh! Um. I baked some muffins that I was taking to a friend’s house, but you can have one if you want!” She dug through the basket to reveal the baked goods. “I’m Jolly Rancher. It’s nice to meet you.”Blue Eyed Melloon I'm sorry for the slow tags ;lkafda

Syusaki Oh it's no problem at all! ^_^ "Sometimes I don't think before I ask things." She said, shifting from hoof to hoof in an almost dance. "And of course! I am drumming up some business, and what better way to tell phonies about my mother's bakery than giving away samples!" Candy's own blue eyes widened as the basket attached to the foal was revealed to be filled with goodies. Muffins to be exact! Her mouth watered as she looked at them longingly. Her hoof reached in and took one, which she placed on top of her own basket. An exchange! That was something that didn't happen very often! "It's nice to meet you!" she exclaimed. "How generous of you to share your treats with me!"

Jolly shook her head furiously. “No no, it’s alright! I’m sure a lot of other phonies will be asking the same exact question. I just need to get used to it!” She covered her mouth with one hoof as she muttered, “Though I’ve yet to find a good answer to say…”
Pale eyes lit up. “A bakery! I’ll definitely be sure to visit it sometime then. I absolutely love sweets,” she chirped, smiling toothingly. The foal laughed as Candy eyed the muffins in her basket before finally taking one.
Another shake of her head. “Not at all. Thank you for sharing some of your mother’s baking with me! I’m sure they’ll taste great.” She bent down to pick up her basket and managed to mumble out, “I can’t wait to go back home and try them.”

Syusaki I think we can wrap it up here! "I hope you like it! Goodness knows I will enjoy what you have given me!" She returned Jolly's grin with a wide one of her own, picking up her basket in her mouth with a nod and a wave to the foal. Then she went about her way, passing out the treats within her basket save for one that was a little different. That one was just for her.

"I'm sure I will!" Jolly managed to call after Candy, waving a hoof as the other phony walked away to continue handing out treats. Satisfied, she too turned around and went back to taking her basket to different places.
