Catching Stars was a sand dog on a mission. His friend had recently spent some time with a lovely female acha and Spiral Into Ebony didn't seem to realize there were some consequences due to arrive any day now. But Stars knew. He tended to keep track of the females just in case. Stars enjoyed dancing with the ladies as much as Ebony did and he knew puppies were always a possibility as foals were possible for Ebony. And so Stars proceeded leading Ebony toward an encounter that would hopefully do some good for the children that the buck might never realize he'd have. Star's mission was to make sure Ebony encountered a Legendary.

"Damn dog," the buck muttered as they trudged along. He'd been acting strange lately. Ever since Ebony had danced with that beautiful lady, what was her name? Loved by the Sun, that was it. He grinned a dance of night and day how perfect. He thought of the timing and actually found himself wondering if perhaps the dog knew something that he didn't....

Catching Stars was startled at the sudden appearance of the foxbun, and its odd behavior. What kind of foxbun strolled right up to a dog? He sniffed then wagged his tail enthusiastically while it hopped around him; this was no ordinary foxbun. The dog looked back at his lagging acha and barked.

Ebony blinked in confusion seeing the unlikely pair sharing a seemingly happy meeting. He was really tired of having no idea what was going on and then Stars barked and it was such a matter of fact sound that Ebony decided that somehow this foxbun had to do with Stars leading him around for the last several days.

He approached, "Ok now, I see we've found a friend?" The tone was amused and curious hiding his growing frustration with the feeling something weird was going on.

Ebony took a startled step back as he heard words in an unfamiliar voice. He looked around for the source but there was no one there but Stars and the foxbun. There was something ... different, he hadn't exactly "heard" that voice. He blinked and looked at the creature sitting before him and his mind began to make some connections. He gave Stars one panicked glance What have you lead me into? the look said. Stars sat down and barked encouragingly.

His voice starting to show his uncertainty Ebony responded to the words he now connected to the foxbun. "Yes, friends are good, but I... I can't think of why.... why Stars brought me here to meet you..." Why in the world would Stars think he had need of... could this really be a Legendary standing before him as a foxbun of all things?

Ebony waited and tried to pretend he didn't seen the smug look in Stars' eyes. When the questions were asked finally everything fell into place. Everything had started after his time with that doe and now this.
"There was a doe," he answered. He looked down sheepishly. "It's rather common for him to disappear for hours at a time in the weeks following such encounters. I thought perhaps he was enjoying some fun of his own, but now maybe not. Maybe he was keeping track of them just in case, so he'd know when there was no way I would without encountering the lady again. And as much as we enjoy our times together its a rare doe I would run back into so soon."
He looked back at Stars, who just wagged his tail in encouragement as if to say "Go on, go on..."
He shook his head, "I may not be a part of their lives but Stars is right knowing there are children coming that are my blood, I do want them to be well and perhaps this meeting is one way I can contribute something to their lives...." he wasn't quite sure how to properly word his request. Had he said enough or would he need to outright ask ....

Ebony's heart lifted at the gesture and the words. The buck bowed his head head respectfully, "Thank you."

Amusement and a certain pride filled his as he watched the foxbun and dog play. Once the legendary was gone Ebony collected Stars. "Good job herding me in the right direction Stars." The dog gave a satisfied woof and began to trot away. Ebony gave one last look at the brush were the foxbun had disappeared and grinned. "Perhaps if we meet again I'll take you up on some advice." maybe in dealing with a certain know-it-all dog....
