 Today Candy Dandy was not in the kitchen trying out new food creations. In fact, she had been asked rather politely to leave after her mother received a large order for some sweets and the pink filly had tried to help, resulting in flour all over the floor and hoof prints leading outside as she was dismissed. Luckily it was a decent day, not too hot, and not too cold. Candy found herself hanging over the edge of a bench, watching the world from an upside down position. While the blood rushed to her face, she watched phonies walk by and counted them like she would sheep if she were trying to sleep.

 It was not a good morning. Rose had just walked into the kitchen at the wrong time. His mother and his brother, Chocolate Orchid, were busily working on a big order. One wrong step and Rosewrite threw off the synced up duo. Of course mom wasn’t made, but with a gentle tone asked him if he wanted to go to the park today. So he set off, it was normally one of his favorite places but everything just looked the same today. No new plants or bugs to check out, just a boring day at the park. He gave a short sigh as he walked along the designated walkway. Soon he found himself walking by a strange pink phony. She was sitting upside down on the bench, but why? He took a minute to stare at her not sure if he was even going to ask her what she was doing. “ … Why are you sitting upside down?”

Candy jumped as a fellow foal stopped to talk to her. How nice! She waved her front hooves to keep steady, and said "Well I am really bored right now, and everything looked so...normal from right side up!" She spoke as if this were the most obvious thing in the world. "So I decided to try looking at things a different way!"
She noticed that he didn't look as happy as she was feeling. Her smile turned into a frown of concern.
"What's got you so down?"

Things looked normal? She was right, today everything did seem particularly normal. His face was one of concern as he sat there and thought about it, wondering why it was like that. Was it going to be like this forever? Rosewrite tried to push it from his mind as he talked to the filly. “ I don't know. Just not the best morning I suppose. Then I come here and... like you said everything seems so normal.” He stated as if normal was a bad thing. He gave a small shrugged unsure of what to do about it.

Candy righted herself for a moment, rolling off of the bench. Her eyes unfocused as the blood rushed from her head to the rest of her body and she giggled. When her blue eyes could focus again, she paid more attention to the foal she was talking to. The first thing she noticed was that he had great hair. It was purple and long and wonderful! The next thing she noticed was that he did indeed, look bored. She tilted her head, ears perked, and said "I guess that means you need to see things from a different angle!" She indicated the bench, and resumed her upside down status. "C'mon, it's fun!"

The little grump didn't seem to understand why this would do anything to help. In fact he didn't even know who this filly was, what if she was just trying to give him a headache? He seemed to ponder it and step a little closer still a little unsure. As she flipped back over he decided to join her. “ My name is Rosewrite. What's yours?" He asked as he started to look around upside down. This.... this was actually interesting. He gave a very small smile, seeing the park unside down for the first time. It was different and not boring! He wondered if he could draw something upside down accurately, or even write.

"That's the spirit!" Candy chimed, watching him lower himself down into position. "I'm Candy Dandy by the way. I really like your mane! Did your mom style it that way?"From this position, it looked as if the phonies and people walking through the park were walking on the sky. She saw a pegasus fly by, and pointed her out to Rosewrite, saying "Look! She's flying upside down!" with a giggle-snort.

Candy Dandy. She had a pleasant name. Rose turned to her as she complimented his mane. It almost swaying against the ground as his head was flipped over the bench. "Mmm, yeah I need help with it sometimes. It already so much longer than my brother and sister's. But thank you." He said with another little smile. it was nice to talk to some one so ... well nice. Watching every phony walk by seemed new and interesting now. Seeing the pegasus fly by upside down was also amusing. "Cats are in the sky and birds are flying on the ground. It's crazy!"

"I know! It looks like she is going to crash!" The sky was green and the ground was blue. Instead of grass to walk on, there was clouds, though no one chose to do so. Instead they decided to float in the green sky. The whole thing was highly amusing. Another phony and person walked by with balloons attached to their arms and hooves. Candy giggled. It looked like THEY were being pulled along by the BALLOONS, not the other way around! "See? Isn't this fun? Everything looks better when you look at it differently."

He had to agree that taking a different look was interesting! "This is cool. Thanks for getting me to do this. I feel a lot better." Rose gave a short little snort at the phony being dragged by all the balloons. Never knowing that Candy too had a bad morning, but chose not to let it bring her down. His tail gave a little flick at the amusing world they had created for the phony folk in the park today. "Is this what you usually do at the park or are you kind of all over the place?"

"Oh I definitely am all over the place. I really like going to the market when it is open and phony watching. There are so many interesting characters around here!" Phonyland was certainly an interesting place. And it helped that Candy Dandy treated every day like the start of a new adventure. "You're welcome." she added, remembering that he had thanked her a moment ago. Mom always said to respond to others when they thanked you. "I'm just glad I have a new friend with a knack for upside down phony watching!" Perhaps they would have to do this again. Maybe by the pond! Or the fountain!

He was amused as she started talking about her adventures, particularly how chipper she as about it. "Mmm, maybe... your cutie mark with be a crowd of phonies with eyes over it. The watcher of phonies Candy dandy!" He said as he decided to sit up. The blood rushing to his head was starting to make him dizzy, It started to sting a little, but he found himself laughing. He was very glad to meet CD today, indeed. "I'll probably need more practice to be as good as you!" He said a lot more chipper himself.

-Yasha Alchemist I think we can call this about done? A phony watching cutie mark? That would be neat! She nodded, feeling her chin bob up and down...or down and up? Candy rose with Rosewrite, feeling the blood rush from her rosy cheeks and back into her sluggish limbs. "I will always be ok with helping you practice! Practice makes perfect you know." Her face went serious for a second, then said "But then again, no one is perfect. So what's the point of practice?" Her brain couldn't wrap itself around the conundrum. So she chose to laugh instead. What a good day this turned out to be!

It was nice to be sitting back up, he even had a new way of seeing things. The world wasn't quiet so boring. He gave a small smile as she offered to help him practice. Then the conversation took a bit more serious turn. He was quiet, as usually, as he tried to wrap his head around the question. "Mmm, I mean why not?"He noticed the where the sun was now, it was time to leave. He had to help with mother deliver the bread order he almost messed up this morning. "I have to go now, but maybe another time? BYE CANDY! ~" He smiled a he hoped down from the bench. Then with a smile he was on his way back home.
