The hit to the face sent Calder back, shaking and snorting as pumpkins dances across his vision. Stunned for a moment, he backed away and whined before focusing once more. The intensity of the smoke rising from it's one eye, as the other was still stinging from the punch, only grew stronger as Calder's patience grew to near existent. Tail flicking, he snorted again, wanting to win. Wanting victory. Wanting to sink his teeth into something and feel the thrill of power that surged through his body and urged for action.

Racing over, Calder went to trample the Igor.

Christof was seeing stars, slipping into the water as the kelpie trampled, and it was all he could do to keep a grip on the slick black fur. The reign-thing, Calder had mentioned it, and his mind was spinning but somehow able to grasp onto that thought. As he looped his larger left arm around Calder's neck, his other two made a grab-

Focused on turning the Igor into a ground, messy paste, he paid no mind to the hands other than seeing them as grasping for life or an attack. When one arm drew near, he nipped at it, wishing to tear off another limb.

Christof's fingers would feel, through the cold, slimy main and the cool, slick fur of the creature, a cold necklace of metal. Compared to everything else, it felt as slick and hard to grasp, cold and wet, but it was solid and shimmered bright silver through the mass of black.

In an instant Calder stopped, standing on all fours, panting as water flecked it's nostrils, but it made no move. It was there, frozen, waiting, held in place as Christof held the reign. It's eyes were smoking still and showed no detail that it was focused in any direction inside it's vast white gaze.

Christof wobbled, his vision swimming as the horse finally quieted. He glared heatedly into Calder's face, keeping a tight grip on the metal in his hand. He limped back a few steps, the kelpie followed. He scooped up one of his torn-off limbs, and then toward where Barth still sat, uselessly. He shoved the Reign into the sloth's hand before promptly collapsing in a heap beside him.
