Step to the Right had been wandering the swamp lately. He was having fun meeting interesting kin and trying to create stories from everything he saw. He was working on a story about a sad little Meti, but he couldn't really come up with a happy ending to the tale.

So as he thought, he wasn't really paying attention to where he was going today.

She had spent an ungodly amount of time fielding a squabble between two of her children and had blatantly lied about the feeling of needing to bless some wayward kin. Of course, with how the Motherfather was, it didn't take long for it to become true.

"You should watch where you're going," she bit out forcefully as the buck nearly collided with her.

"Huh?" Right stopped dead in his tracks and looked up at the female. "Oh!" Well, she was pretty. He hadn't seen a mare before. This was exciting! He would have spoken of her beauty, but his mind was preoccupied. "Sorry, I was thinking." Maybe she could help! "I'm trying to make a doe happy."

She quirked a brow at that. "Paying attention to them usually helps," she retorted with amusement. As much as thinking on it was a good step, it was never good to end up neglecting someone. Although, she wondered what would happen if she tried that on a kin who sought a blessing. Perhaps it'd be amusing.

"Oh... Oh I guess that's true." He shuffled his hoof. "I didn't mean to be neglecting you in my thinking of another lovely female." He tilted his head to one side then the other. "Is it true what they say of stags and mares?" Can you really bless others and make them happy?" At least he was direct.

Well that wasn't exactly what she meant but being ignored was not a favorite of hers, so she nodded. "Yes, stags and mare can bless," she started and paused. Happiness was relative, not that she'd ever had a complaint. "It often makes them happy, yes. Grateful, too," she decided. She wasn't sure she could actually bless a kin to be happy eternally. Perhaps a fool.

Right's tail twitch side to side as he thought about her words. It made sense, yes. "Suppose to make someone really happy you have to know what they want, right? Oh! Um... Do you think maybe... You could bless me?" He knew what he wanted. Oh yes.

"What is it you want?" she asked because what else was there?

"Girls." It was a completely honest answer. He wanted to make Never Heard happy, and she was a girl. Of course, she wasn't the only girl he had his eye on, but she was the one his mind was focused on right now. "And how to make a specific girl happy. I suppose you could say I really like her."

She blinked at him, astounded. A rough cough erupted from her throat, "I see. Charm, sweetness, gifts work for some." The tone in her voice made it clear that those did not sway her. And then a thought struck her, "But, I could perhaps grant you some girls. Even the doe would be happy." Oh yes, she could bless him with girls. Probably.

There was a sheepish look on Right's face as the mare coughed. "I... Well... I know you can't promise anything... But you can make the odds better, right? Could I... get your blessing?" Then he could get the girl, make her 'happy' and maybe even have more girls!

She smiled, wide, and if he had been a mouse he might have been scared. "Yes, you may." A nod and a pause. How to phrase it?

"You shall have girls -- healthy and intelligent -- that flock to you in happiness. You will grant them happiness whenever they see you and they," she began to fade, "will call you father!" And then there was only laughter and an owlcat, amused eyes twinkling, before it darted off.
