Rahisi stood at the top of the hill his new love Mavi used as a vantage point to see down upon the race tracks. He could see plenty of activity going on below along with a race going on as he watched. Seeing cheetahs race and a crowd of different creatures watching was almost impossible for Rahisi to wrap his head around but it was happening. On top of it all he was part of a pride, a pride that he had never imagined. It was such a relaxed type of pride where a lion could do almost anything he wanted and not feel tied down by beliefs that weren’t his own. He had finally found a place he felt welcome enough in to call home. His luck was changing. He was no longer a rogue with no one to love. He had a pride and a mate. There wasn’t anything more he could ask for.

He even had extra additions to his situation and one of those additions was coming his way. A smile spread across his face as his adopted daughter sauntered up to greet him from the race track. She was still young and since he had come to live here and be her mother’s mate she had taken quite a shining to him.

Nina trotted up the hill towards her adopted father Rahisi. She returned the smile he gave her as she got closer and nuzzled her head against his leg once she was next to him. She couldn’t believe it the day her mom had introduced him to her and her brother. She’d been over the moon to hear her mother had fallen in love especially with him. When her mother had brought him into the pride she’d taken a liking to him immediately. He was so fun to be around and he really loved to play with her. Before her mother had announced they were going to be mates she had day dreamed of being with him like a little cub crush. She was happy though to have him as her dad instead. It meant he would always be stuck putting up with her pestering him. “What’cha doing up here daddy?” She asked. She’d fallen in to calling him daddy almost immediately after her mother announced him as her mate. She liked calling him daddy.

Rahisi still wasn’t used to being called daddy but it was growing on him. He loved Nina just as much as her mother. She and her brother were just as much his as they were his mates. He would never allow another male to come and try to claim them. That said male would find himself dead for it. At her question Rahisi shrugged. “Ah I just thought I would come see if you and your mom might be interested in a fresh kill I’ve made.” He stated while waggling his brows at her playfully.

Nina perked up very quickly and started bouncing about. “Yes yes yes yes yes yes! Let’s go now!” She exclaimed now bouncing around Rahisi in a circle. She could never resist eating. She was always hungry and since she had begun eating meat along with the milk her mother still provided she was always ready for food. She bounced around Rahisi and even pulled on his tail to try and get him moving. “Momma’s still busy! Let’s go! Let’s go!” She was not in the mood to wait for anyone now that food had been mentioned.

Rahisi couldn’t help but laugh at the sweet little lioness. She was so eager to eat and she didn’t care when it was or who had it. If there was food being offered she would go with anyone. That fact always made Rahisi and his mate nervous and Rahisi tried his best to help his mate keep an eye on their hungry little cub. “Ok. Ok. Calm down. We’ll go ahead but we have to come back for your mom so she can eat too.” Rahisi told her. He didn’t mind taking Nina on to eat some now. She was a growing cub after all.

Nina jumped for joy and dashed ahead of Rahisi. She went at it with a flat out run just laughing up a storm but within a couple seconds she slid to a halt and turned to look behind her. Rahisi was so slow in her opinion. He so needed to hurry up so she could go get have something to eat from the food he had caught. As soon as Rahisi caught up with her she dashed ahead again in a dead run and then again within a couple seconds slid to a stop and turned to see Rahisi way behind her again. “Oh come on daddy! You’re so slow!”

Rahisi could help but laugh at Nina’s eagerness to get to the kill. He remembered being a cub and dealing with his own silly parents. It was pretty much the same for Nina now even if he wasn’t her real father. He still felt like her dad and she still called him dad so that was enough for him. In time he was sure he would have his own cubs but until then he was happy to raise the cubs his mate had now. He really couldn’t see how he could be anymore blessed than he was at that exact moment. Walking back to a freshly made kill with one of the sweetest little cubs he had ever known. He just loved his life now and would never wish for it to change.

Nina was so happy when they finally reached the kill her new daddy had made. She waited only long enough for her dad to make an opening in the kill for her to eat from before she practically buried herself in the body of the carcass. Ever since she’d first tasted meat she had just fallen in love with red meat and the taste of blood. It was the best thing ever so when her dad told her it was time to go back and get her mother she wasn’t too happy but she went anyway. She knew they’d be coming back to the kill and all the red meat she could eat very soon.
