Hero alias: Tat Real name: Adrastia Terrell Powers/abilities: Tattoo Manipulation – Tat has the ability to bring to life the tattoos that adorn on her body. They keep their tribal designs but gain the traits of their animalistic counter parts. Tat has three currently: A Snake, An Owl, A Tiger. Note for all: If it is covered completely, she cannot call it forth. Rookie: The Snake that twists around her left arm from wrist to elbow. Sidekick: The Owl that flies over her chest Hero: The Tiger that protects her back
Which area is the character based/from: Ronth Age upon entering academy: 14 How did your character get their powers: Story she tells people: Radioactive Ink. The truth? Tat volunteered to be part of a test group for money. Truth Long Story: When Tat was ten, her mother was ill and they did not have the money to pay for treatment. So, she found a flyer asking for volunteers. They did not set any limits on who could come and advertised that anyone who partook would be handsomely rewarded. Seeing her chance, Adrastia took it and went to the lab. What they did to her there, she attempts to forget. Yet the result was that all their markings and drawings on her became the three animals on her body. Her reward? When she awoke from the testing, she found herself back in the slums. By the time she had made her way back home, her mother had passed. Their neighbors later informed her that she had been missing for two weeks. Only days before she returned, three men in lab coats came and told her mother that her body had been found. Unwilling to live, her mother claimed her own life. Adrastia was left alone… Motivation for entering academy: Fear. Adrastia has very little control over the markings on body which has resulted in several … incidents. After one rather bloody encounter, she decided it was time to get help. She also hopes that it will provide an escape from the world she has spent the last four years living in. Adrastia wants a place to call home.
Strengths: Street Smarts – Since being orphaned, the one thing Adrastia made sure to learn in the northern land of Ronth was street smarts. When to keep her mouth shut, when to fight, and when to up and disappear. It was mastery over this that led to both survival and acceptance in the gangs she joined. Agility- Fast…for a human. Adrastea’s small size and tiny frame meant that she could move with ease around things that the ‘muscles’ had to go through. It also meant that she is able to get in and out of places before many notice her. Good Memory – Adrasti ahas seen a lot and been through a good deal in her short life. For better or for worse, her memory is keen. She can recall details many forget with the passage of time. Faces, names, events, all seems to remain with her.
Weaknesses: Physical Weakness- Her legs could carry her but her over all body was weak. Adrastia needs help with some of the most mundane tasks such as pushing a desk two inches along a wall. Her body just doesn’t form muscle the way others expect. She believes it was a result of the ‘testing’. Hugs – They make her freeze up and start to shake. Human affection is very foreign to Adrastia and so shows of it now cause a panic response. A Hot Meal – the promise of a meal stops Adrastiain her tracks. So used to living off scraps, if a full dinner comes into the picture, she will do quite a bit for it. Don’t try and take it away from her.
Personality: Quiet – Growing up in a gang-like world has left Adrastia as a rather closed off and quiet child. She is almost afraid to open her mouth and say anything for it might result in retaliation. This is especially true when around people who are either physically larger than her or stronger. Expressive - Though her voice might be quiet, her face is a window to her mind. When she things get more interesting, Adrastia is full of expressions that show off what she is thinking. Very few ever have to guess what she is thinking when she makes a face. A Follower- Being the leader of any group meant you were the first to be targeted and removed. Adrastia wanted to be the last. That meant the only other position to take was one of a pack member that just followed orders. However, Adrastia is not one to follow orders blindly. Rational - She knows when someone is trying to send either herself or a group into a bad situation. While not one to stand up to or defile an order, Adrastia will find loop holes to keep herself out of harm’s way. Untrusting – It was blind trust that changed her life and resulted her the loss of her family. As a result, Adrastia does not trust anyone for a long time. She expects people to just be looking out for themselves and wanting to use her for their gain. Though if you earn her trust, be warned because it is very easy to lose. You only get one chance! Even with that warning, she is not without wonder. Curious - While Adrastia might not trust someone as far as she can throw them (and promise, that is not very far), she is curious about them. Once her interest is peaked, someone might just find her studying them. She wants to know what makes people and things tick. Though she considers privacy to be respected, she will keep an eye on things out in public.
Hobbies: Animal Care – For as much as she does not trust people, Adrastia is willing to help out animals of all kinds. Had she come from a family that could provide, she might have been a vet. Now, she just looks to keep those she comes across safe and healthy. People Watching – She might not know who you are but she can tell you all the little ticks that you have when talking, walking, or placing a to-go order. Adrastia enjoys sitting just out of sight and studying those around her. The things she picks up on is normally how she remembers someone. Reading – This is her escape. Though she has never had access to many books, she love to read as she can forget the world around her and leave on an adventure where the good guys do save the day. Birthday: June 30 Zodiac: Cancer Status: Single and trying to stay that way Orientation: Straight
General backstory: As the only child of James and Rhea Terrell, Adrastia knew nothing but love. Though the family of three lived in heavy poverty for the first six years of her life, the child could not think of ever wanting more. Both her parents loved each other and gave her everything they could. Her mother worked as a maid and her father as a hand for hire. That meant that there were times he would work odd hours leaving Adrastia home alone with just the books and stray cats for friends. Still she never complained because when her parents were home, it felt like royalty to the girl.
Yet at only a tender age of six, her father was taken from her and her mother. The sole victim of a hold up gone bad. People would later tell Rhea and Adrastia that James was the hero for had he not stood up to the gunman, many more lives would have been lost.
Even so, with the loss of her husband, Rhea fell into depression that kept her in and out of the hospital. So much so that she was forced to stop working and what little savings they had quickly ran out. Mother and daughter were forced from the little apartment they had to the streets and women’s homes.
For four years they lived like this. The child mentally growing quickly as she sold what little they had left and took to foraging. Though she found hope again not long after her tenth birthday.
A flyer she found while coming home with thrown out pizza crust called for help testing a new way to prevent infection and speed the curing process. Volunteers of all ages, sex, and experience were needed. As compensation for their time, they would be handsome rewarded. Adrastria jumped at the chance and took off at once for the location.
It would be nearly two weeks before anyone saw her again. In that time, her mother took her own life thinking that she was now alone in this cruel world. However Adrastria was very much alive and though forever changed, she was now the one alone.
Another four years would pass with the girl learning the ways of the dark side of the city. Survival was her only goal. The means? Stay out of harm’s way. At first this was simple but as time past, she found more and more changes that had taken place in her body. At first she had thought it was simply the three tattoos she had gained but one day, at the age of eleven, she awoke to find the eyes of a snake looking down at her. Of course no one believed her so she kept quiet for as long as possible. Though the quickly found the more emotion she hid, the harder it was to control the creature. So much so that one night she found herself crying out as the snake wound its way around the neck of another gang member.
Looks department: Hair: Down to her mid back to hide the tiger; long, black and messy. Eyes: Bright Blue Build: She’s slender and tiny. Pale white skin that can burn pretty easily Everyday Attire: Dark blue jeans, black hoody and black shoes. Simple and something that she feels she can hide in. She wears and fingerless black glove on her left hand to hide the snake head. Costume: (I’m open to this. The only requirement is that each of the Tattoos must be exposed to some degree. If they are covered, she cannot summon them)
Tattoos: Snake- Snake that wraps around her left forearm. Tail at elbow, head on the top of her hand. Owl- Owl whose body is on the right side of her chest and wings move over her heart. Tiger- Tiger that’s tail runs from the top of her left shoulder down her body to just above her rear end.
