Which area is the character based/from: Sewit
Age upon entering academy: 15.25, or 15 and three months.
How did your character get their powers: Mother and Father's science experiment gone wrong half a year ago, as explained below.
Birthday: October 24th
Zodiac: Libra
Favorite Food: A nice warm Lasagna! For Sweets though, Gun adores Caramel Apples.
Favorite Music: Classical, but any type of music that can incorporate a nice Violin. Also a big fan of soundtracks from movies he loves.
Status: Single, not actively looking though.
Orientation: Pan-sexual
Current Living: Dorm room at the school.

Motivation for entering academy: Gun has been obsessed with Superheros since he was a wee lad. He always wanted to find some way to be among their ranks. He found himself rather plain though, and there was no reason at all why anyone would seek him out until recently, having not been born with super intelligence, or any sort of useful powers (He doubted that being so stoned faced was a real power outside of poker.). After the incident, he gained a new found power, and saw himself with the potential to become a Hero!

Personality

-Expressionless-Gunter has always been one to keep a rather stone like face in light of any situation around him. Whether he is in the face of danger, or he is enjoying the most delicious caramel apple in the world, his expression never falters. At first, he did this to mimic one of his favorite heroes, Binary, but as they say, if you keep it up so long, your face stays that way. The more serious his expression becomes, the harder he is concentrating, whether it be on a fight, or on a cute kitten.

This is NOT to say he doesn't have a sense of humor, or never gets upset. He just doesn't express it on his face. There are ways to get him to show emotion, and this is most likely to happen when his medicine is wearing away. In his weakened state, he'll find things funnier, or sadder or find that certain things make him angry easier. He'll break face quite easily during those times. Extreme ends of the emotional spectrum (Anger, Fear, Sadness, Joy, Surprise, and Disgust; not to be confused with the spectrum the Lanterns follow) will cause him to visibly express himself. An example would be of him meeting The Captain; an emotional overload would take place, and he'll be grinning the entire time!

-Inner Fanboy- As defined, fanboy means "An extreme fan or follower of a particular medium or concept". Behind that rather hard face of his lies the vibrantly beating heart of a fanboy. His room is decked out in his favorite memorabilia of heroes and heroines, along with a variety of books, mainly cooking or cheesy romance novels (he keeps these hidden away though). They are his two current obsessions, sans the one for heroes.

Once he becomes a fan of something, he obsessives over it, trying to gain every inch of fan material that particular subject has. This does not ONLY include heroes/heroines, but anything that catches his mind at the moment. Any bit of money he earns from chores, or little jobs he does (does moving things sound familiar?) he spends to feed his fanboy needs. Most of what he does revolves around expanding his fandom to all his acquaintances, and he makes most of his friends this way, observing what they do, and trying to find a way to make it relatable to something he likes.

He understands that not everyone is as obsessed as he is with his fandom, so once he's rejected about it, he won't bother to mention it anymore. If people don't like it, he tends to shrug it off, and see what else they have in common, after all, not EVERYONE likes the same thing. He finds no reason on hating on someone because they have different interests than he does.

-Blunt- He has no real censorship on himself, something he can't quite help. He never saw the purpose of hiding who he really is, or what he really thinks, so unless he means it, it doesn't come out of his mouth. And at times... This proves to be a problem, especially when it comes to the more sensitive type. Gunter honestly does not see that he has a problem with this though. He's made more than his fair share of people upset though, just ask him if that dress makes you look fat. He'll let you know, that is for certain.

-Inefficient- So you have to go from Point A to Point B? Never forget that Points C, D, E, and F lie in between! Poor Gunter cannot plan things out for the better, exerting much more effort than necessary for most tasks. The same goes for getting what he wants from people. An example of such, say his team will have to steal a map, His reaction will be very much like so. "We'll get a device to cut a small hole in the window, and then put a micro robot through the hole. The robot will open the air vent, and then another robot will enter through it. That robot will create a duplicate of the map and replace the original with the new map, then take the original through the vent and back out to us." Not once will it cross his mind to just break in and steal the map.

-Imaginative- This boy can weave a tale more complicated than your great great great grandmother's best tapestry. Paired up with his poker-face of steel, you would not be able to tell if the adventure he is talking about truly happened, or if it's just a part of his imagination running wild once again. This tends to help his rather... Inefficient mannerisms to run wild at times as well. However, such a vivid imagination has caused him to have a small following on the internet, due to his awesome fanfictions. He cannot draw worth squat, but does give other artists great ideas for their own works.

Hobbies

-Reading- One day, while his mother and father did their thing in the basement, Gun found himself bored. Video games and the internet could not hold his attention, so he got up out of his room, and ventured into his mother's library. He picked out a random book, and started reading. And he read and read and read. And he found he loved it! He doesn't read everything though, mostly drawn into his mother cooking and romance section, and that's where he stayed. For a little while, he pondered why exactly his mother put the two so close together, but it didn't really matter. He is slowly working his way through those two vast sections. When asked why he likes romance novels, he simply shrugs it off, unable to pinpoint exactly why he likes it either.

-Cooking- Reading his mother's cookbooks, Gun has deciphered them as formulas, and to mock his parents in a manner of speaking, he works through recipes as if an experiment. He has to have a recipe though, otherwise he'll veer off track, and make some sort of horrendous mixture, due to his inefficient ways. He cannot just whip up something, doing so is just an invitation for disaster.

-Fanfiction and Fanart Handling- As with all proper fans, Gun takes his fandoms very very seriously. He is a dedicated owner/moderator of a webpage that has fanart and fanfictions of his most beloved hero, The Captain. Recently, Gun has begun to ship him and Binary together. Why does he ship them, you ask? Well, his current obsession with cheesy romance novels has opened his eyes to the possibility of how the introduction of romance can change one's life completely! He also feels that his heroes have been on the downlow for some time, and to keep his readers, he has introduced the ship. It has proven a huge success, as the number of female readers has skyrocketed!

-Dream recording- Perhaps due to his own overactive imagination, he finds himself remembering every detail of every dream. He keeps track of this in a journal beside his nightstand. When he needs inspiration for new fanart, or new stories, he pulls from this more often than not.

-Working Out - Nothing was extraordinary about Gunter while he grew up, so as soon as he got the chance, he started to work out, even before the incident. He imagines himself as a muscular man (not the kind of scary muscle builder person), and he strives towards that image. Now, more so than ever, he works to train the rest of his body, knowing that it can never become as strong as his arms.

General Back-story

Gunter never really thought of himself as special. He went to school like most kids his age, and returned each day to hear the rumbling under the floor boards, the sounds of his mother and father at work. His life was always self scheduled, and he enjoyed it that way, knowing where he was supposed to be at one time or another, and knowing exactly when he could forget about his duties as a student and just play in his room alone.

He had friends, of course, and they would come over to play with him and his vast collection of superhero memorabilia and games, but most of the time, he felt just fine being alone. At those times no one could judge him for his obsessive behaviors. When he did step out of his normal schedule, the accident occurred.

His mother and father were experimenting with a new concept for a battery that ran off of a radioactive material. That material was able to create electricity by feeding from it's own radiation in small amounts. This material, however, had one fatal flaw. If exposed to too much force, the compound has a negative reaction, and explodes. The explosion seems only like the material was cracking in half, and other than that, there was no way to warn others that a toxic leak was taking place. Using paris green, (also known as copper acetoarsenite, a very toxic compound used for paint and the coloring of fireworks) which had been rendered harmless from weeks of tinkering, the two injected the compound into the radioactive material, knowing that the coloring would shine a brilliant blue when exposed to the poisonous gases. It seemed like such a perfect, yet untested, solution, so the pair continued on with their research. Besides, green was a rather favored color between the two, and the predicted out come showed positive results.

One particular evening, young Gunter found himself in need of assistance with his homework, and he broke from his normal study time, heading downstairs into his mother and father's lab. Upon opening the door, everything thing seemed to be fine. There were no announcements of potential radiation, and all the sirens and chemical spill alert lights were off. His mother and father were currently in the decontamination showers that resided right across from their work stations. He laid his books on one of the work tables, and began to wander around, examining their latest project, which his parents had been too excited to properly explain during the mealtimes together.

As his mother and father exited the shower, clearing the glass from the in side to see what their son was up to, the father let out a quick and frightened shout, startling the boy. Such a loud and sudden shout caused Gunter to knock over the newly modified, untested, electrical source. Instead of creating the blue light to alert that the gas had been leaked as once thought, a bright, green light bathed the boy, and a plume of thick green smoke filled the lab. He heard the frantic screaming of his parents for a few moments, before the gases overwhelmed him, and he passed out.

A few weeks had passed before Gunter woke up, and when he did, his parents seems just as much curious about his state of being as they were relieved that he was alright. He was now green, so very ironic given his last name, and the strength in his arms increased at an exponential rate. His parents refused to let him go free, to return to school or to leave the house, for fear of the poor lad being ridiculed for his new found green color scheme, as well as for the rest of the bizarre changes he found himself with.

His best friend, Mailo, caught wind of the rumors going about their neighborhood, and decided that enough was enough. He sneaked into the house overnight after Gunter had been 'missing' from school for several weeks, and he heard no word from him. At first, Gunter's parents were very hostile to the idea that their son had been discovered, but with no way to keep the boy quiet within legal means, they had no choice but to simply beg him to keep their secret. Mailo more than willingly obliged, and the two became closer than ever. The fact that Mailo treated him so kindly after the incident, going out of his way to gather all the news he could on Gunter's favorite fandoms, convinced the boy that there would always be someone out there that could accept him for who he was, and the idea to escape the prison of a house became stronger and stronger every day.

The guilt they felt for turning their child into a mutant of sorts was not enough to cover their curiosity of what they had created, and his parents continued to test him. As they worked, they began trying to see if they could find his limits, predict his pattern of growth, and continuously attempted to develop a cure, of course, for this artificial power they had bestowed upon their poor child.

Although his powers seemed grand, he had no way of controlling them; his arms grew to immense size whenever he got excited (though his mother would argue it was a pleasant change to her normally emotionless son), and he broke nearly everything he touched. At this time, he found himself relying more and more heavily on his best friend. He had gained strength in his arms, but it did not stop him from being poisoned by the once stabled compound. It seemed that the neutralized copper acetoarsenite had, once again, become toxic, causing him to feel terrible almost constantly.

His parents had discovered a form of neutralizer for the poison, though they could not find a complete cure for their child. The effects of the pigment caused him to permanently change colors as well. He seemed to get darker and darker the closer it reached his extremities, to the point that his hands, feet, and hair all obtained a dark green hue.

Gunter found himself thrilled, however, at the very thought of being so strong, figuring it would be his only chance to try and integrate himself somehow into the superhero world. Upon receiving a contact from the academy, he sat down with his parents, explaining what he thought would be best for him, and how it was possible to make one of his long time wishes finally come true. They agreed that the best they could do for him right now was to try to develop a cure for the poison in his body, and surely, someone at the academy would be able to examine him, without judgement, and more accurately than they could. Once an agreement to send him to the school was reached, they asked for permission to come up with an alias for him, thus he was named the Copper Combatant.

After a final farewell to his mother and father, and a promise to get as many autographs as he could for his friend Mailo, he set off to the school, with the dream of becoming one of those he idolized so strongly.

Powers/abilities: Super Strength in his arms with the additional ability to grow them in size.

*Needed information*

The Training every day for him is majorly focusing on all of his body, sans his hands. The reactive chemicals in his body causes the strength in his hands, and if there is no constant work out for them, they are not effected. Each day he works out about anywhere between two to three hours, before sleeping. Just as his body matures, so does his power, as the reactive chemicals are given more and more time to integrate itself fully into his systems. Whenever chemicals are referred to below, it is referencing the chemicals he's laden with due to the incident.

Rookie: He's just developing his new found powers, and many everyday things are a struggle. He's working on controlling the amount of force applied to things. If there is no real force to be applied (say as petting a kitten) then he'll be fine. Opening a pickle jar? Shattered glass everywhere. His hands can grow to a maximum of a yard, from wrist to middle finger, but more often than not, he cannot control when they grow.

The beginning amount to be lifted is half a ton, a couple of weeks after his incident, when his body is working with the new compounds within him. Once his training at this stage is complete, he will be able to lift a maximum of 15 tons. He's still unable to fully control when his hands enlarge, especially when adrenaline is high. In saying this, in order to lift such a large amount, his elbows must be planted on the ground, and items are thrown by more of a flick of the wrist. He is very stationary at this point when it comes to fighting with any sort of excessively heavy weapons.

Strengths:

-Shall I carry that for you?- This boy can carry more than the average... Being. The causes him to be immensely popular during move-in day and gym class. He doesn't seem to mind either, just load him on up!

-Big... Strong... Manly Hands!- Gunter's hands are strong enough to protect his team from any flying objects that come around, and be used as a shield. The actual size of his hands change as he grows, as referenced above. And they give out pretty good massages too, when he can control them, that is.

-Human(ish) Catapult!- With the right timing, Gunter can use the strength his hands provide to launch himself over tall obstacles, and to reach almost obscene heights. He'll have to practice to actually stick the landing though.

Weaknesses:

-Too much force- While most actions are fine with him, if he needs to apply force to something, he tends to use just a wee bit too much. Open a pickle Jar? Nope, how about break the whole top off. As he trains and can control his powers better, he still finds himself slipping every now and then, especially when he's getting to the point where his medicine is wearing away.

-Arsenic Poisoning- Despite his strength and new found color, he is still only human. Every so often, he needs to takes some medicine that his parents developed in order to hold back the effects of the copper acetoarsenite (the Paris Green) that caused his incident. Gun becomes riddled with headaches, dizziness, and intense nausea. He also finds himself having muscle spasms, his muscles tightening up to the point where he can hardly move without pain. His parents send it to him every time he runs out, but when it takes too long in the mail, or he runs out faster than previously established, consider him incapacitated.

-Night Blindness- One of the more permanent side affects of his poisoning is the inability to see in the dark. The darker an area is, the harder it is for him to see anything. A dimly lit room is a terrible thing for him, causing him to reach around blindly, where as most people would be able to see just fine.

-Endurance Issues- Although his strength is great, he can only handle so much excitement at a time, before exhaustion sets in. Each different stage has a different range of time he can use his maximum strength for, progressively getting stronger and stronger. It goes as follows: At Rookie, he can use his maximum strength (when he can control it) for a consecutive two minutes, give or take. At Sidekick stage, this increases to five minutes. However, unless a cure is found at Hero stage, then the time he can use his strength decreases again, and he becomes winded after about a minute. Increasing the amount of pressure the situation has directly effects how long he can endure as well. After the time is up, he becomes exhausted, and requires another dosage of his medicine before he can go on.

-Vulnerable Body- As much as Gun works out, the rest of his body just doesn't have the extra added effect of the hyperkeratosis as his hands have. Whereas his hands can withstand alot of damage, the rest of him would give out from external damage much faster. He does train to be able to keep his body out of harms way, figuring how to guard himself with his hands, but having any part of his body exposed during a fight could lead to him being forced down.

(As the Paris Green is a form of arsenic, I used this to reference the side effects of such poisoning - Arsenic Poisoning

Not needed information as of Yet.

SideKick: Gunter has been training extensively under the watchful eyes of the staff at the academy. He's gained quite an extensive control of his growing limbs, as well controlling the amount of force he applies to day to day situations. While training, he's found himself to pick up more and more weight, reaching a max of 50 tons. He's able to get dressed without ripping his clothing, and can even be around tight bottles now!

The reactive chemicals in his body from the incident are now adapting to the sheer weight of items it picks up, and has created an almost pillow affect in his shoulders and back, cushioning him from the weight of the items. He would relate this affect to having shocks on a car, giving him added stability and allowing him to keep balance. In saying this, although he can move his arms above his head for launching and aiming, he cannot move, and remains stationary. This is mainly for overly large and heavy items. He can move around just fine carrying around anything under 400 pounds, as it will be his normal 'human' carrying capacity.

As his arms naturally grow longer from him being a growing boy, his hands also have increased in their enlarged state. Now, they grow into about two yards, from wrist to middle finger, and have toughened up with callouses to withstand more damage from things like random shrapnel and can be used as a shield. He has also developed a bit of hyperkeratosis from the paris green, which causes him to form callouses faster, but only on his hands. These Callouses are thick and can take quite a bit of abuse from sharp objects when enlarged. There are two inch thick layers of skin around his hands, mainly his palms, though there are a few around the front sides of his hands too. This can help him grab rougher objects, and block sharper things that are thrown at him.

Hero: Hardened from battle, the Copper Combatant has now grown up to be a fine young gentleman, powers stable, and he's able to lift 100 tons. His hands cannot grow any larger, but the rest of his arms compensate to match his hands at their two yard size, creating a more 'realistic' look to from his shoulders down. This increases the range he can place his hands on an object, giving whatever he's holding a bit more stability. However, the medicine he takes to prevent further contamination is becoming rather useless. Though he does put the safety of others before him, he's searching for a new, long term cure. His largest fear is no longer losing in combat, or disappointing his family, but becoming helpless, if the cure he finds also takes his powers away.

The same shock system that his shoulders and back obtained as a sidekick has finally caught up with the rest of him. While he is still not super strong in all parts of his body, except between his shoulders and fingertips, the rest of his body has come up with an endurance to allow him to move his chosen weapon along with ease. He is also able tofinally move about freely, though exhaustion comes faster at this rate, however, as the more he exerts himself, the quicker his medicine wears off. He is finding his limit of fighting at this stage, though the exact time is kept a secret.

So on and so forth: As he continues to grow, the actual amount he can lift is directly related to how his body is maturing and how the chemicals in his body are reacting as he ages, just as much as his training affects him. For example, right now, as a rookie, he can lift about 100 pounds, but when he matures more, and his body develops, he'll be able to lift something equivalent to Oil Tanker at max strength (approx. 650 tons when fully loaded) This maximum strength would not be reached until he's way older, perhaps mid-thirties and far after he reaches Super Hero Status. He is slowly getting stronger and strong, however. A cure found for the poisoning has the potential to take his powers away from him.

Family

N/A : Effie Gruen [x] - The kind, but stern mother of the Gruen household. She is trained as a doctor, but has spent all of her time caring for the ever-injured Hanno. She stays by his side when he's in the basement, making sure she's prepared to come at him with first-aid and some Radiation-Away. She does do all the housekeeping, and fulfills her role as the 'home maker', but does wish that Gunter would focus on his studies a bit more, rather than obsessing over some hardly seen heroes.

N/A: Hanno Gruen [x] - The eccentric father of the Gruen household. He's the inventor of the family, and makes money repairing Old technology that has gone out of style, but is still used. Gunter never has much to say about him except his is a 'cool, ol, man that always smells of singed hair.' Both he, as well as Effie, tend to see science as the number one item in their lives, despite still loving their son very much.

Friends

N/A : Maillo Wohlfeil [x] - Gunter's best friend back home, and the only one outside of the family that knows what happened to him. He is frequently written to while Gunter is away at school. He is just as big of a fan of heroes as Gunter is, and finds himself infinitely jealous of his buddy for being all cool and away at such a cool place. He's chill about it though, and is constantly begging Gunter for autographs from anyone who might be potentially famous. He also has a crush on Gunter, and felt incredibly honored to be told of his transformation.
