Mold was the regulator, the one in charge of border patrol. The one that was always the first to know. If only because Foam Flux had other things on his mind. Descending to where the doe's head was, it circled around her before letting out an unimpressed sound. Still, it returned the way he came. Rousing a concentrated Foam Flux from his 'studies,' the dragon all but ushered the buck to the intruder. After depositing the kimeti, Mold returned to guard whatever it was the kimeti was working on, its wings rapidly beating in adrenaline. Intruder, intruder alert.

Foam Flux couldn't care less, he'd rather be elsewhere but others were in his area. He didn't want his secret to slip out and thus he confronted the foxbun and doe. The foxbun reminded him of what he harvested and the doe, well... the next few moments would ascertain how he would deal with her. At ease, he respectfully, but languidly gave her a once over and noticed she stood near a large mushroom. No visible malice radiated from her so he bit the bunny: "What are you here for, little lady?"

His smile sharpened and his eyes narrowed shrewdly. Just what were her intentions? "Why yes, this is my garden. I keep it for decoration. I also grow, um, some vegetables." Mentally he kicked himself. He had some shrubbery and berries but hardly anything worth showcasing. Deflection, he was doing a miserable job at it.

"My dragon is sick often so I have to nurse him back to health often."

For all his cantankerous ways, Mold was very effective at border patrol. As soon as the foxbun crossed past Foam Flux, Mold was already on the path of the foxbun, barring it from entering further. The dragon was surprisingly fast for such a supposedly sickly character, but eventually the foxbun ventured past the ornery dragon.

"Ahh, it seems that we should go see what your foxbun is after. We wouldn't want him to eat something and get sick either." Foam Flux was a go with the flow type, and was curious where the foxbun and little lady doe would end up, or how they'd react if they saw just how extensive and specialized his garden was.

Foam Flux clicked his head to the side in mock sadness. With a grave but playful tone he suggested, "I wouldn't do that if I were you. Those red berries are poisonous as they are radiant. It's their red color that lures the innocent. I swear, this swamp just likes its mysterious masks. Everything that looks good is bad, and things that look boring are actually very, very good." It was the last bit that he deigned to give the doe a hint into what it was he did. It was true, for all their moldy looks, mushrooms could move mountains.

The dragon just huffed, half hoping the damn foxbun ate the berries.

The dragon opened his mouth but fire did not come out, instead some squawking and screeching. He flew angrily above the foxbun. Probably cursing at it in dragonspeak.

Foam Flux paid them no mind. Pets were pets and were led by instincts. But this doe, he wasn't sure where she came from or why she was here. For her foxbun she said. Hmmm. He was game.

"Yes, I know these mushrooms well. I even have some that glow, they're in the cave though" he looked at her with a strange dark twinkle in his eye, "and then some mushrooms that sport this web around them when they grow. I even have purple mushrooms, and edible mushrooms." He let the last bit slip. Oops. Let him say the others are decorative mushrooms. Yes, yes.

"Are you looking for something in particular? Again, I must stress that your foxbun do not eat those red berries for his own sake."

Foam Flux pointed to a patch of harmless, but brown mushrooms. "Those are creminis, portabellos, white buttons and the leafy ones are oyster and chanterelles. The chanterelles are especially buttery. They are delicious and buttery. They are my favorite to eat. Even Mold likes them."

That's what she's referring to right? The 'good' ones. "If you're hungry I can make a quick salad for us."

WIth a quick flourish and a bark of an order, Foam Flux had his dragon harvesting the aforementioned mushrooms and preparing a wonderful salad. What? Did the other doe actually think he'd make it himself? He almost laughed at the thought. Haha. In fact, he did let out a chuckle. And since he wasn't eating and she wasn't threatening, he held off on giving the signal to include poisonous mushrooms.

"So, sit down and be comfortable while we wait for our food. I'll teach you about these mushrooms fruiting on this log. These are jack o lantern ones. They glow in the dark, yet are mistaken for chanterelles what you are about to eat. They look very similar. In general, if they glow, it's a warning to NOT eat them. Chanterelles are delicious." He can't help but reiterate that part. They seriously are. Fatty and silky, they were sublime.

Finally, Mold pushed two turtleshells full of mushrooms. Biting into one, he started the conversation since he's not too happy are her non-answer, "So, you were just following your foxbun or were you looking for someone or something in particular?"
