 The bright acha couldn't help but bounce around. Not that she exactly knew the buck she ran into and traveled with for a bit, but she knew the feeling in her belly. And now that she knew more about legendaries, Above Heartache was on the search for one. Maybe that sweet foxbun she saw last time. Prancing through the morning light of the swamp, she looked high and low. Her belly rumbled, stopping her midprance to force her to eat some more food. "That is right, need my strength for you guys." She rubbed her belly and turned to start munching on some nearby plants.

 An eaglehound yipped as the acha's voice interrupted the soft silence; a mare and owlcat with matching eyes glowered at the intrusion. After some thought, it was the mare that appeared from the shrubs that acted as guard to her temporary residence. She looked fierce, all drawn up, and yet charming, with the glow of her firefly lights. The annoyance she had intended to launch at any kin she saw, however, fluttered before a tone far more resigned came out, "It would be an expectant doe," she muttered to herself. And then, "Shall we bet on what you want?" Yes, Lull in Sunlight, knew with one glance what the doe wanted; it wasn't even the distended belly that gave it away.

Above jumped as she heard the yip, knowing full well that it belonged to one of the dog family. Her head turned towards the sound, searching for who it might be and sighed at the sight of the mare. Gulping at the glare from her and the shadowy figure of the owlcat, the acha settled down, some. Hesitant on stepping closer, Above Heartache stared at the mare, plant hanging out of her mouth still. "Sorry if I bothered your rest. I didn't know." She started babbling, mainly in awe and some in fright. "But since you are up..." Her voice trailed off as she finished the plant.

It was a sight. The colorful acha rebuked but with a trail of plant hanging from her mouth -- not that it stopped her from speaking -- as she tripped her way through a request. The mare stepped forward, shrubs bending out of her way and revealing for a mere second the glimmer of sacs newly laid before the view was gone, with a mouth in a firm line. "Since I am up..." she trailed off, raising a brow and then with a twitch of a smile, "I should, what? You don't want me deciding that." In short, perhaps if the doe asked...

Her head dipped, a bit in shame and a bit in shock. The mare had her own to care for! Oh what a silly doe, I am. "I didn't mean you have to, but would you mind giving a blessing?" Her eyes shone with an unasked mercy plea as she continued. "I will be right out of your area, not even to stop for food."

"Your children shall be observant, confident, and healthy," the mare said after a moment. And then with a nod of her head, "Eat, then you may go. I wouldn't deprive an expectant mother of a meal." But she turned, then, and waded back through the shrubs to protect what was hers. Clearly she found the acha no threat.

Above Heartache wiped at her eyes, touched by the mare's blessing. "Thank you." With a quick thought to give a better thanks, the doe left softly, leaving behind only her pranced out pattern of kin together.
