She was pregnant again. Only Dreaming had known it before her belly had even begun to swell. As she had the last time, her part in her children’s lives would end as soon she gave birth. For the first she had lingered longer, making sure all six managed to push out of their sacs and see the world for the first time. Then she had left, following her dreams make into the deep swamp. She could not feel guilty for her actions. She had been alone when she emerged into the world. That was the way of things. But she was getting older now and a thought had crossed her mind; to seek a blessing from one of those chosen by the MotherFather. Give her third clutch something special. So with that in mind, she walked; content whether she gained her brief desire or not.

The last expectant parents she had met... It had been altogether strange. And though she often found blessing to be a thankless irritating task, the competition of last time had lodged a desire to bless under her skin. It was unlikely to last, she knew, and yet she could not help the idea of how it might irritate... Lull in Sunlight's ears perked at the tread of an approaching kin. Heavy, weighted. Oh. As an owlcat, she arched her back and settled on the twisted root that had snaked up through the ground. Waiting.

Only Dreaming continued walking, following a well worn trail through the swamp. It was only when she was only a Kimeti-length away did she notice the Owlcat, with its arched back and intense glowing gaze. She paused, regarded it curiously for a long moment and then bent her head into a bow. No part of her made the connection between the beast and the Legendary she sought, but the Owlcat was unlike any she had seen before and deserved respect

If she had not been intent on blessing, the bow would have made her likely to be. It did not matter whether the doe did it because she knew what the owlcat truly was or not, respect was respect. One of the few ways to make the mare open to offering a favor. The owlcat's tail curled as she stood up and pranced -- the way felines did when they were all confidence and in charge -- towards the doe. The shadow that trailed it however bled into longer legs that attached to the barely visible form of a mare. The same eyes and the conjoined shadow was all that alerted one to the fact that this owlcat and mare were likely the same.

The doe smiled as the Owlcat pranced forward. Then her gaze moved on beyond it; to the dark shadow that did not match and yet fit more perfectly than her own did. “… ah,” was all she said, some sense of understanding making her heart beat that little bit faster. Had she found what she had been seeking already? She was acutely aware of the heaviness in her belly as she as she continued to watch the Owlcat that was not quite an Owlcat.

The owlcat soon faded to a see-through ghost as the mare's filled out into light pinks and shining orbs. Lull in Sunlight regarded the doe, her swollen belly and no panic. Certainly not a first-time mother. "Hello," she offered. And waited, for the mother-to-be's request.

Only Dreaming let out a slow breath, her gaze full of admiration. The transformation, though perhaps a simple matter to the Legendary, was amazing and it was sight she would remember for a long time to come. “Hello.” She responded. “If you would wish it, I am seeking for my third clutch to be gifted with something special. Whatever you would deem fitting.” Was that how it worked? You merely asked? She hoped the request had been polite enough. If the mare required something more from her, she would be happy to give it.

Third? My, what a busy doe. Well, third time was the charm, or so the saying went. She tilted her head, "They shall be healthy, of course, and bold, perceptive, to the world around them." A little more than her quick wish of smarts that was often given. Perhaps a third-time mother deserved a little extra.

Only Dreaming nodded her head in gratitude; pleased beyond measure. “Many thanks.” Those traits would do her offspring well in this world and she knew for sure now that there was no need to worry for their future. “I had best go and find a suitable place for their birth.” It was good to leave ample time to settle down. “I wish you well and thank you again for your blessing.” With her appreciation clear and her smile warm, Only Dreaming ambled off.
