Sands was following Nomad, enjoying the male's company more then she had thought she would. They were on their way to the seaside, but for some reason, tonight the doe could not sleep. She wandered away from Nomad while he slept, just for a moment. Maybe a quick walk would make her legs stop itching to move. She waded through some of the swamp before stopping to look around a little.

User Image The night was a time of freedom, not that the languid owlcat proved such. She had positioned herself on a branch that hung over the swamp and her tail swished in the lazy contentment of any (half) feline. At least until the sound of an approaching kin reached her ears.

A deep throated growl of irritation left her as she rose. Did kin never pause in their incessant need for blessings? The owlcat gave her head a shake, padding toward the tree's trunk, before leaping down. It took no time at all to see the doe, brightly colored as she was, and with such eyesight as hers. But she didn't inquire, not just yet -- in fact she stayed silent. Tonight the doe would have to ask; she wasn't in a terribly giving mood as it was.

The growl didn't go unnoticed. It was... different from the other sounds in the swamp, and gave Sands pause as she peered around for it's source. Finally, her eyes caught the owlcat as it moved from it's perch. "Hello little one." She said fondly to the other. "I hope I hadn't disturbed you." She didn't know what to expect the owlcat to respond to. But... while nomad slept, she supposed company was nice.

Lural
If it was possible to tell -- doubtful -- the owlcat's glowing eyes narrowed. Disturbed was not the most apt word but she could tell the doe had no conscious knowledge of what she had done. And she had to admit an amusement at having been referred to as, "little one". In fact, a soft little sound bubbled up as she considered it.

"Not quite so little, as you think," a voice spoke up as the air around the owlcat became obscured, first by shadow, and then by the full form of a mare. The owlcat faded, slightly, then curled down between the mare's front hooves. "And what causes you to walk the swamp at night? Do you not know of its dangers?" she queried.

It almost sounded like the owlcat laughed before speaking.

... Speaking? Sands stared at the familiar before it became shrouded in shadow, and then overshadowed by a mare. MARE?! Sand's eyes widened a little as she stared at the darker female before she lowered her eyes. "Yes." Her response was soft. "I know the dangers. I was just restless is all. I didn't want to disturb-" She wasn't sure what to call her companion at the moment other then "Nomad." She said the name fondly. She liked the buck, quite a bit. And admitting it to herself caused her to blush a little.

Lural
Little evaded her keen eyesight and a blush certainly did not escape her attention. Although she did not show her opinion of it.

"Considerate," she began, "unless you were to run into a crocodile." It was hard to tell what, if anything, she meant by that. Perhaps she meant nothing at all.

"What has you restless?" With the question, came movement of the mare moving closer. The owlcat, however, skirted around the two females in a wide arc. It appeared it was keeping an eye out.

Running into a crocodile hadn't really... occurred to her. Part of her thought her movement might scare off many predators, even though that was a foolish notion and likely would attract more. But she pushed that thought aside and glanced back where she came from; where Nomad slept.

"We've been traveling... To the beach." She added, looking back to the mare as she moved closer. Sands shifted so she was still mostly facing the elder, but could easily walk beside her should she keep moving. "I suppose excitement at seeing like in my dreams has me up. Or perhaps... wondering how long we will be together after visiting the sands." Now there was the heart of her problem. She shifted a foot in the soft marshy earth. "I... like him."

Lural
No, it was apparent that the doe hadn't thought. Although she often found herself feeling that few kin ever thought at all.

The beach. A place she knew only from dreams and memories. "It is a long journey and very much worth it," she allowed. Not that she would make such a trek -- at least not without reason. And seeing sand...

"I... like him." Of course she did. And the mare resisted temptation on that.

"Convenient, as you shall be forever tied," she let out. It would be horror to have the children of someone despised, wouldn't it?

Sands chuckled at that. Forever tied. She did like the notion of that. Though Nomad was a wanderer, and she was mostly confined to the swamp, to afraid to go anywhere on her own. It was only because of him that she even considered going to the beach. She fell silent, thinking a moment, then cleared her throat nervously.

"...I... I don't wish to sound rude... or forward, but..." She also couldn't believe she was even thinking of asking this! "... Can... I ask for your blessing?" At least with children, she would always have a part of him with her.

Lural
Ask and you shall receive.

"Forward, you are not, nor rude." And it was true. Distant Sands was quite in the middle between straight to the point and beating around the bush. Although she had been waiting for the doe to ask for her blessing since she appeared.

She took a good look at the doe, "You shall have children that thirst for knowledge. Bright, healthy children that know the sands of the beach." And with that, she gave a nod.

Sands felt... better. Like her heart swelled and she could let out a breath that she hadn't realized she was holding. "Thank you. ... I don't even know your name." Should the mare share it, she would thank her properly and excuse herself back to Nomad's company. The restless feeling was... gone. Just like that.

Lural
"It is my duty, but you are welcome," she decided. And though it was not needed, "My name is Lull in Sunlight," she gave to the expectant doe.

Then the mare was gone. The owlcat staying just long enough should Distant Sands say anything more. And then it, too, was gone.
