[PRP] The Second Fluffy Ninja Time (Gin x Athena)

Athena padded away from the little make-shift den arrangement that he and his family had come up with for now. Zenobia and her son would be fine with watching the juveniles that Athena and Zenobia had together. And he knew that with his many adult children that were still around, they would have extra help with the adopted cub and the new litter Athena had brought home. Everyone was lazying around this time of day anyway, well except for the hyperactive ones, but they would just play with the cubs.

Athena's muzzle broke into a smile as he thought of his ever growing family and how they all fit together. Oh he was sure soon enough that some of his children would wander off to prides or start traveling with mates, but for now he could enjoy having them all around him and traveling with him. He loved how things were and hoped that they would stay this way for a long time. He honestly could not think of a happier time in his life than now and selfishly hoped for it to only get better. He wanted many more fluffy children to call his own.

Athena fluffed himself up with a shake as he paused in his walk. There was a very nice stream here, clear and shallow. He stooped to take a drink and looked around at everything. He had noticed they were close to pride lands when they stopped, but he was sure they were still outside said lands, and he did not think he had wandered into them with his short walk. Even so, he kept an eye out, just in case the pride here was not friendly toward outsiders. He would move everyone on quickly if he must.

She had heard news from those in her pride that a group of lions had made a home not far from the pridelands. Gin didn’t ‘mind, as long as they had posed no threat to her and her members they were of little worry yet she had a feeling that she would know them. It was a mere guess but she remembered the lion who had given her directions and considering she had found him in the grass along the ridge it may be his own family that lived close by.

With that in mind Gin had told Ankoku that she would be out for a few hours and as long as he kept an eye on the pride there shouldn’t be any worry. Not that lingering in the back of her mind that she was worried something may happen there was less likely for the little bit of time she would be away.

Gin traveled along a safe distant from the edge of the water, her pink eyes watching cautiously of any movement of a pride member or more so part of the family. However just along the edge she saw a figure, a rather familiar figure.

She moved rather silently behind him before pausing, “Hello Athena.”

Athena had not heard her come up on him and had not seen her to boot. Rather than jumping, though, the big lion turned his head to look behind himself at her and nodded a greeting. "Hello, Gin." He could not have mistaken that lioness for anyone else. He did have one thing going for him and that was an amazing memory. He could remember pelts and names as well as where he had met someone very easily. Gin had been a lioness he met not too far from where they were currently and had pointed out the way back to the mountains. He had even shown her to a big rock so she could see for herself above the tall grasses that blocked the view.

Athena wondered how she had managed to sneak that close without him noticing. He had even been watching for her! It amazed him sometimes how sneaky some of the others he had met were. Gin was certainly one of the sneaky ones. He could sneak up on a lot of things, but he doubted he could ever do so to her. The lioness was much too good from what Athena could tell, and he just was not ambitious enough to put forth the kind of energy it would take to get better than her if it was possible.

"Do you belong to the pride that is nearby? I do hope we are denned outside their territory... We do not plan to stay long, but I have a new litter of cubs that needs a rest from the travel." Athena hoped that if Gin did belong to the nearby pride, she and her pride would understand. The truth of the matter was while he could travel with the young cubs, they really did need a break every so often because they were not used to all the going yet. And besides, they were still getting used to the fact that they would not see their mother again. Nema had made it clear that she thought it best the cubs not ever see her again. They would soon forget, but for now it still upset them.
