((Setting, though perhaps not as many large trees so close to the building))

User ImageLeon surveyed the dilapidated building before him. Once a place where humans built toys for their littles to play with, it had been abandoned for many years. The red bricks were either crumbling or hidden behind a mass of climbing ivy. Tall grasses, even bushes and small trees, clustered around the base and further eroded the man-made structure. Badly-rusted metal stacks stuck up from the roof; one had even completely toppled over, its bottle rusted away until it could no longer support its own weight. The glass in the few windows the building sported had long since broken, leaving nothing but the frames and the occasional jagged piece still wedged in. If the inside looked anything like the outside this was going to prove to be once interesting experience!

Leon had been looking for an abandoned human-dwelling for some time. His friend, Seras, was convinced that she and her twin brother were cursed. A Halloween-born fox himself, Leon wasn’t a huge believer in curses or jinxes. Bad things were always going to happen at some point in a person’s lifetime, that didn’t make them cursed! He was determined to prove that there was no such thing, that it was all in Seras’ head.

On that note perhaps the look of the building he’d chosen to prove that in was a bit…well, overly dramatic, but it was difficult to find old human dwellings that they themselves didn’t tear down when they left.

All he needed now was Seras herself. Leon scanned the forest, frowning slightly. He was sure she was near, she hadn’t been that far away when Leon asked her to meet him here; he’d flown ahead to make sure the building was truly abandoned. Perhaps he should fly up and scan the forest? He resolved to give Seras another five minutes.

User ImageSeras cursed and nursed her ankle. She was supposed to be meeting Leon soon but like in her normal fashion she had walked too close to some other foxes territory and chased out, then she had been attacked by squirrels who she could have sworn where throwing acorns at her and it was all followed up by her rolling down the hill and hurting her ankle. She was lucky that it wasn’t sprained or broken or anything like that and was just smarting but seriously she had to have the worst luck on the planet. Even Alucard had it easier as he caused misfortune to everyone else. She had her curse inflicted on herself.

It was only through her excellent coordination that she hadn’t killed herself or something like that by now. However she supposed thing could be a lot worse. There where plenty out there with worse conditions. She smiled however when she thought of Leon, and his insistence that she was perfectly fine and the whole curse was in her head. It was a sweet sentiment but he really hadn’t seen her and alucard together. In fact the last time she had seen him was on their birthday when a storm had caused them absolute chaos and separated them. She was trying to find him but the universe apparently couldn’t handle all the chaos they ended up creating apparently.

Shaking her head she drew her self out of her thoughts and went back to trying to make it to Leon. It would be a miracle if he hadn’t left. Stepping forward she tested her ankle to see if she could walk on it again. Seeing no sharp pain anymore she continued her journey. Luckily she made it to their meeting point with out any incident. Maybe it was just storing up for some big thing. Shuddering she refused to let her mind continue down that path and lifted her paw to wave at him. “Sorry I’m late, I uh got chased by a few things and tripped on the way over”

Leon raised an eyebrow. He had a hard time imagining anything wanting to chase Seras. Sure, she had a pleasant disposition and as a female she was only about the size of a large dog, but that was big enough that most stuff left modifoxes alone. And while he didn't find Seras' looks scary at all, she could be quite intimidating without trying.

He decided, however, not to comment.

"That's fine. I was about to look for you, so good timing," he said, trying to enforce a positive overlay to the situtation. He tilted his head towards the building in the background. "Found a decent place for the expirement. Figured we'd go in in the daytime so we're not tripping over our own paws in the darkness."

Seras smiled and figured it would be best to hide the fact half the time she was dealing with squirrels and crows. It was a bit pathetic, and since Leon was a bit… okay a lot skeptical over her curse best to keep it as cryptic as possible. The important thing is she had ended up here without too many injuries. Well actually she didn’t really get horrific injuries just annoying scratches or bruises or cuts. Horrific things only happened when she was around Alucard too long. Since their curses really didn’t work on or near each other it was like Nature stored up until it couldn’t hold it anymore and some huge tornado or Hurricane happened.
“Yeah it’s probably best that we didn’t go at night, although with your fire and my glow we could probably still see pretty well. However for safety reasons I agree with you” Seras pointed out. However human buildings like the one they were about to go into had flammable liquids still lying around so probably best Leon didn’t use his fire. She could just see it now what would happen.

Leon gave Seras a quick smile. "If we fancy we can always come back at night another time. Looking at how overgrown the place is, I doubt it's going anywhere anytime soon.

Well, shall we," he asked, arching an eyebrow and giving Seras a comical lttle half-bow, paw extended towards the building in a "ladies first" gesture. He glanced up from his bow, a smile twitching at the corners of his lip and breaking the illusion of formality.

“hmm we’ll see just what happens during our trip” Seras pointed out trying not to think of flammable liquids too much. “However I do agree with you, it seems to have been awhile since human activity has been around this place” She agreed.
Seras looked at him and rolled her eyes. She wasn’t too for the whole “ladies first” attitude, however her mother had drilled it into her that she should always accept that small level of respect since it so wasn’t equal between the sexes. When they finally got to the building she took a small little breath before stepping into the place first, half expecting something to fall on her.

Leon followed a few steps behind Seras, looking around every which way as they cautiously entered the building.

Nature had started to reclaim the inside of the building as well. Vines wiggled in through every crack in the wall, spreading out from the open windows and giving the light a greenish tinge. The opening they'd come in from had tall grass crowding the ground as though trying to reach into the building. Chirrups and the soft sound of wing flutters indicated wildlife had already begun to move it. Really, if it wasn't for the mass of metal and all the odds and ends lying around, this place might have seemed like a large, strangely regular cave.

They were in a vast, open room. Leon could see metal walkways above their head and doors set into two of the walls. He paused and looked down at his feet, lightly batting at a loose bit of rubble. "Amazing this place is still standing."

((Just to spice things up a bit...))
((1. They walk bit further into the building. Suddenly, a door on the ground floor seems to open on its own.))
((2. They hear scampering sounds in the catwalk like something running across it, but when they look there's nothing there.))
((3. There's a loud banging sound. Origin unknown, they investigate.))

Seras took a deep breath and calmed herself, not that it would stop her curse at all but it would keep her calm and more likely to escape from whatever the universe wanted to throw at her. she opened her eyes and looked around just to make note of what would try to befall her. with the sound of wings she sighed and hoped another bird species didnt decide it would be a perfect oppurtunity to attack her. "Well it looks like it was a pretty old factory. I've heard that humans used to make sturdier buildings a long time back, maybe that factors into its continued existance?"

Before she could really explain more a scampering sound suddendly caught her attention however when she looked up at where the noise had come from all she saw was a rather empty catwalk. "Great just great" Seras stated shaking her head. Just what she needed where strange sounds. Obviously something had to be there to make it which meant it could be a whole slew of things. You could even venture into creepy territory like someone was secretly watching them. Why had she agreed to this again?

Leon frowned and looked up at the catwalk as well, but saw nothing. Whatever it was had sounded bigger than a squirrel, but smaller than racoon; maybe closer to the racoon than the squirrel. It wasn't so much that he couldn't see what had made the noise that bothered him. After all, any animals would flee from two large predators and attempt to hide. Nope, bothered him was the fact that the sound only seemed to go halfway across the walk, and if the creature had stopped they should have been able to see it...

"Let me check," Leon said, spreading his wings. He gave two flaps, wind wiping around around, then with a third, powerful flap made it into the air. In seconds he was level with the railing, carefully landing on it, frown deepening when he saw nothing but a few chunks of rock fallen from the ceiling. "How odd," he said, half to himself.

Seras waited on the ground in hopes that Leon could tell more about what had been ‘watching’ them. She shook her head and tried to get the paranoid thoughts out of her head. Her curse would manifest its self when ever it wanted but going around tense and paranoid wouldn’t help. It was after all why she had tried to calm herself down in the beginning. Besides, it seemed rather small from the sound and it probably wouldn’t attack them. Most things thought twice about taking on a daeva. Plus Seras wasn’t really one to get all intimidated when she wasn’t busy turning herself paranoid.

Back in her calm state of mind she brought her gaze back on her companion. “Were you able to see anything up there?” She asked. She didn’t really expect anything but it never hurt to ask. However she did hope the crazy stuff started a bit further into the complex, ah well she should have been used to it right?

"Nothing," Leon called back, his puzzlement creeping through in the tone of his voice. He kept looking up and down the catwalk, as though source of the sound would appear. Of course, nothing happened. "Mabye a cold draft hit it and made the metal contract," he said doubtfully, trying to come up with a possible solution for what he and Seras had heard. He looked down at Seras to see her reaction to his suggestion.

((1. There comes a loud banging sound from behind one of the closed doors, as though somthing heavy has fallen over.))
((2. Seras hears something scampering around on the ground with her, unseen and about the size of what was heard in the walkway.))
((3. Seras spots something hovering around Leon's outspread wings, but doesn't have time to register what it could possibly be before it vanishes.))
((4. One of the doors on the ground floor suddenly opens about a foot, with much creaking and creepy sounds.))

Seras nodded like she was agreeing with Leon because after all that was the safe guess. It was smart to just go with the logical steps; unfortunately she knew there was a very illogical side to the modifox world. Plus she didn’t think she ever heard wind make little scampering noises before. However after all it was just easier to blame it on the wind. Then of course because the Universe’s favorite toy at the moment had the name of Seras the creepy instances decided they where going to continue.

A rather loud and creaky sound caught her attention and she almost gave herself whiplash turning to the side and staring at the door that was now ajar about a foot. Definitely not any wind. So creepy potential haunted human factory along with her voodoo powers… this was going to be a fun trip. She went to all the best places.

Leon started badly enough that he nearly fell off the railing of the catwalk. A second later he deliberately tipped himself off the side, using his wings to glide down to Seras. At the last second he flapped his wings to slow himself and come to a gentle landing, whipping up even more wind than he had on his ascent.

He gave the door a suspcious glance, staying close to Seras. "Did you see how that opened," he asked Seras, hoping she would give an affirmation. This was all a little uncanny and not at all condusive to the point he'd been hoping to make today!

Seras shook her head and went back to her breathing techniques which she had a feeling she was going to be using a lot of tonight. Even Alucard with his pranks wasn’t as bad as this. Plus she wasn’t usually this hard to spoke. Some how she had a feeling this was all going to get worse before she got better. When she heard Leon moving she looked up again and smiled and repeated her mantra that even things that went bump in the night normally didn’t attack Daevas.

Of course then he just had to give her that suspicious glance. Seras looked back towards the creepy door and then slowly turned around and gave an innocent smile before moving her head in a negative fashion. “I’m afraid I can not give a positive answer.” She stated with a nod.

Leon was still glaring at the door suspciously. Unlike his brother Leon wasn't one for fighting, but that didn't mean he would tolerate someone trying to play a joke on him. He lifted his head, sniffing the air; perhaps this place was inhabited and he hadn't noticed. It was entirely possible since this was his first time inside the building, and it wasn't like he'd scouted it much beyond affirming no humans still used it.

Unfortunately while the humans might be gone, their scent still reined strongly in the abandoned factory. All he could smell was the harsh scent of the machines and the softer smell of plantlife that drifted in on the breeze.

That didn't mean someone couldn't be here though...

Leon's eyes narrowed. Without warning he suddenly marched forward, towards the open door. He fit his shoulder in the gap and with a single shove he pushed the door so hard it hit the wall and nearly bounced all the way back to hit him. "Who's there," he called into the dark room, voice echoing back at him and tinged with his indignation. His only answer was the rusty creak of the door hinges as the door settled after its abuse.
