The next thing Shard knows, something is poking him. Opening his eyes he sees its the foxbun, and smiles down at it. "I don't suppose you know where your owner is?" he asks.
I have no owner. What is it you seek? Fish Bones replies.
Shard blinks, and blinks again, sure he must be dreaming. Then it sinks in. "You're the Stag? Of course you are, no foxbun could talk." He says, blushing for sounding like a fool. "I came seeking a blessing. I met a doe and she agreed to have my children and I want to be sure that they'll be healthy." He lets out in a rush.
Fish Bones perks an eyebrow at the buck, normally it is the females who seek a blessing. A thought he keeps to himself, lest he hurt the other's feelings. Just because a doe agrees to mother children doesn't mean she wants more then that from the father. If that's the case Fish Bones would rather not hit that nerve. Ahh I see, children are a wonderful addition to our lives. He replies, grinning. May yours be healthy and full of joy. Fish Bones lays a paw on Shard's shoulder as he speaks, he's not sure is touch is required in a blessing but it is something he often does. It just feels right, maybe its just a way to calm or reassure expecting parents.
Shard smiles and nuzzles Fish Bones, glad to know his children will be fine. At least at the start, asking one of the MotherFather's chosen to protect a clutch all their years would be too much. "Thank you." He says, giving Fish Bones a last nuzzle then stands up. "It is an honor to meet you." Shard gives the Stag a bow then turns to head off.
Fish Bones returns the buck's nuzzles, then skips back to be out of the way. It's always a pleasure. He sends and waves to the buck as he leaves.
