
Joints made stiff by winter's chill limbered up pleasantly in the late spring heat. Plants and waters alike parted beneath hooves no less steady and sure for their apparent age. The wind of his speed rattled his feathers and playfully teased his beard and garland. Waters tasted cleaner, fruits and meat more succulent and sweet, after a day spent running, swimming, flying, moving.
God, it felt good to be on the move again.
Even so, one cannot go on traveling endlessly - even the indefatigable Longstride had to pause for meals and rest, so it was perfectly reasonable for one of his less active contemporaries to do so often, as his whims and needs dictated. This afternoon, Wildflower Breeze slowed to a stop in a peaceful, lovely copse of fruit trees to take his midday meal.
