 Not long ago Fish Bones had a fling, and now he hoped to find the doe, to see if he'd be a father again. He felt certain Seed was indeed carrying his babies, but with out seeing her he wouldn't know if this is true or just wishful thinking. So once coming to where they had spent the night, Fish Bones starts following Seed's tracks, hoping to find her. No easy task, the clearing they had been in wasn't exactly secluded so all Fish Bones had to go on was a gut feeling that these tracks are indeed Seed's and not some other passerby.

 When Seed had found that she was with child, she knew she had to find Fish Bones. It was only appropriate that the father would bless his own children. And so, she had set up camp in a nearby cave, hoping that he would come back to the place that they had met. Although she loved being pregnant, the doe was feeling rather ill today, and as she lay queasily with her head pressed against the cold floor, she heard the sound of footsteps. Her ears flickered at the noise, but she didn't dare look up, lest the contents of her stomach came up too.

Fish Bones stops at the cave mouth, where the hoofprints lead, and peers in. Though it is bright outside light doesn't pierce far into the cave, but enough to make out Seed. "Hello." He says, stepping in and lowering himself - with much grunting - to the cave floor. "Feeling sick?" Fish Bones has little experience with pregnancy but he has heard that does can feel nauseous during the first few weeks. He wracks his brain, but finds no cure for pregnancy sickness. Maybe the things that work for other stomach illness will work here. He thinks. "There's a turtle shell not too far, maybe a sip of cool water will help?" He asks, Fish Bones is happy that Seed is with child but a part of him feels bad about her upset stomach. True they both needed to consent for her to become pregnant, but he still feels responsible.

The brown doe slowly opened her eyes.
"Fish Bones," she says, her voice barely above a whisper, "you came."
She smiles fondly at the stag, "I'm sick, but for a happy reason -- I'm pregnant."
The doe closed her eyes again, "Yes, please."

Not unexpected news, and very happy too. "This is wonderful!" He beams, seeming to bounce a bit as he rises. "I'll be back soon."
Outside he makes a quick detour to get the shell, then on to the stream and fill it. Carefully Fish Bones walks back, trying to spill as little as possible.
Back in the cave he sets the shell down, a rather hard task that involves Fish bones again lowering himself to the floor, so as not to spill the water. Once its down he nudges it toward Seed. "Sip it slowly, let it slide down your throat instead of swallowing." Common knowledge, or so Fish Bones would think, but things like that can be easily forgotten.

She drinks the water slowly, letting it slide down her throat as advised.
"Thank-you," she says, "I feel better already," and moved her head forward to touch her nose on the stag's.
((I'm getting so muddled up with present/past tense, so sorry.))

Fish Bones smiles and nuzzles Seed, happy that his suggestion worked. At least for now. With careful movements Fish Bones moves to her side, adding his warmth to hers. Looking down on her he lets his mind wander over blessings, wanting this one to be just right.
((nono I always mix them up, switching between one and the other. I never did master the full past tense-3rd person RP style most b/c shops use))

Seed rests her head back onto her front legs, appreciating the warmth as he lies down next to her.
She wanted to ask for a blessing, but it felt too rude to ask for one straight out. Instead, she closes her eyes again and lets him think, drifting off in the silence.

He watches her a while, mind wandering from blessings to children and back again. "May our children have good health, always." He says at last, then following Seed's example Fish Bones rests his on head on his front legs. As long as she'll have him, he'll be there. And Fish Bones hopes it will be enough time to watch their children grow, and possible become Seed's friend as well. These thoughts in his mind, Fish Bones drifts into sleep.

The doe awakes and notices that the sky has darkened outside. Fish Bones is still there, sleeping soundly next to her. She rests her chin upon the nape of his neck, and closes her eyes again, smiling contently. Blessed.
