Crew Positions and Descriptions (Please Read)

Here is where each crew position available will be described. This is to best help you find which position your character would be best suited for!

Captain

Pretty easy to understand. Head of the ship and leader over everyone. Has the final say on all decisions involving the ship. Decisions made by the captain can effect who stays on the ship, who leaves, and what others think of them. Meant to keep the ship in tip top shape, it is no job for the faint of heart and lazy of bones.

First Mate

The Captain's right hand man/woman. They do all the jobs that the Captain doesn't want to/is too busy to do. Most first mates have high standing among the crew, having the ability to make important choices when the Captain is otherwise unable.

Second Mate

The Second Mate has more authority then the average crew member but is still lower then the First Mate and Captain. Most crew members will come to the Second Mate with problems they don't want to confess directly to the Captain or First Mate.

Third Mate
Third in charge they are still higher in rank than the regular crew. They are under the captain and first and second mates though.

Deck Hand

They are the bulk of the crew. These are the ones in charge of cleaning the ship, caring for equipment, and basically doing anything a higher crew member ask them to do. They run the sails as well.

Cabin Boy/Girl
They are kids and teens from eight to sixteen. Their job is to assist the captain with anything and everything they need. They at times get assigned to certain members like the cook as well. Most members give the youngster whatever they need, as it is usually for the Captain.

Cook

Head Chef aboard the vessel, in charge of all the meals and making sure they have all the necessary nutrients. Ruler of the Galley few dare to stand against the Cook except the Captain.
