Hamu'Akili was bored. As an intelligent lion who enjoyed activities that required more thought than your average, every-day tasks, he found himself this way quite often. Hunting was okay, but it di little to solve his need for mental exercises. And so he found himself doing what he often did when he grew too bored for more physical activities - he found himself a nice sun-warmed patch of grass, flopped down onto it, and started playing mental word games with himself.A passerby might think that he was asleep, given his concentration-closed eyes and lack of awareness of his surroundings, but that wasn't the case. He was simply occupying his min with grouping words and patterns, or contemplating philosophical concepts... and yes, okay, maybe he was dozing a little. But only a little!
And if anyone claimed that he was snoring as he thought, well... obviously they had misheard!
He didn't think anyone would be likely to bother him here, and so he settled down for a nice long nap philosophical contemplation.
