Ufara still couldn't believe the little band she'd gathered. It was...pretty awesome, really. And now...their first real adventure as a group! Sadly, not everyone could come, but...some of them could! And that was okay. The earthy-colored juvie looked over the group present, smile on her face as the rest of her tried to keep her excitement contained. She was the leader. She had to keep a level head.
There was Null, her second. And Illyeria, the next cub she trusted most. Bright little Nimbe, and energetic Femizi. Splotchy Tala was there too, and...Taanisi might show up, if her mother let her wriggle away for a bit. Nodding as she finished taking tally of their little group for today, she tried to make herself as 'leaderly' as possible.
"Today, we explore an area I've figured out none of us have been to before! Ahead of us lies a stretch of rocks and...a few trees. But mostly rocks it looks like. For now, we'll stay in a group and look around, see if we can find anything nifty!" The last few words betrayed her excitement a bit. "So...let's go!" And the juvie stood and turned to head into the area proper, making sure to keep a pace the younger cubs in the group could keep up with.

Taanisi was late! She was scooting as fast as she could through the dens, heading for the meeting spot. With a grunt she scrambled over a lump in the ground between her and where the others must be, ears flat in dismay. What if she got left behind? What if they got hurt in this first venture? What if she wasn't there to help? Though exactly how she could help she wasn't sure, but that was beside the point!
She topped the little rise, panting heavily, just in time to see Ufara, their bold leader, turn and begin to pad into unknown territory. With a protesting squeak, she began running down the longer, steeper side of the bump of ground. As small as she was, though, her paws got moving too fast for her, and she swiftly realized she had no control. With a yowl of warning, she barreled into the small group, leaning precariously forward. Certain she was sure to plow into someone or something in her careening path, she squeezed her eyes shut and hoped for the best.

"Wait! Wait for me!" A voice called out of sight, a scrambling sound announcing the arrival of another of the band before she bounced out of the tall grass, her tail up and her eyes bright with eagerness.
"Where are we going?" Ubalamwezi chirped as she pranced her way through the group to the front, her purple eyes blinking with an 'I'm so innocent' look. She couldn't let the bigger kids have fun with out her... even if she had been the last to find out about this little adventure. At least she wasn't the only late one, if Taanisi's appearance was any indication. Probably one of the littlest of the group, she felt like she had to do her best to keep up, or even exceed, the older ones, so there was no way she was going to miss an opportunity like this to go out with the group.
She pranced her way around Ufara with a giggle, refraining from rolling and tumbling like a cub, but only just.

Null didn't mind being late to the party, but his reason for it was lame and made him a tad grumpy. The armor marked juvenile made his way over to the group, looking all clean and dapper. Null had been given a bath by his mother, which he'd protested to earlier, futilely. He'd tried to tell his Mum that he was just going to get dirty again, because he was going to go exploring with some of the other cubs. But nooooo~, that hadn't stopped the torture. Null was determined to get her back for, by coming back to the den as dirty as possible. ...Which would get him into trouble, but that wasn't new.
He wasn't about to take any lip from any of the cubs, if they said anything about how immaculate he looked right now.

Of course Tala was there. how could she not be there? She wasn't one to get very antsy about things, being rather level-headed (in contrast to her red fur), but even she was feeling almost fidgety with excitement. Today would be very fun, and the red cub quite liked fun. She had even arrived early, somewhat, and was sitting beside Nimbe when Taanisi barreled over.
Fortunately, she was out of the 'line of fie', as it were, and was mostly unaffected by the other cub's blunder. She blinked, but didn't comment, and instead focused on paying attention to Ufara. Good, they were moving out! "great!" She beamed once the older female announced they were leaving, and happily trotting along to keep up.
