Severi is cold and unfriendly. He is very territorial, and seldom leaves the cold, murky mountain lake he claims as his home. Trespassers are not well tolerated, and if his suggestion of leaving is ignored... well, there are a few bones at the bottom of his lake, picked clean by the fish he hunts to satisfy his hunger.

Severi is a bit more than average in size, built lean and strong. He prefers to spend his time in or on the water, and is deadly when he is in his element. The feathers on his head are usually slightly damp, being not quite as slick as a duck or swan's, but they do not trouble him. On land he is more awkward, but he can still move quickly enough to catch red meat on the rare occasions he craves more than fish can give him. His vision is not poor enough to be an obvious difficulty, but bright light is painful to him and if one holds very, very still he might fail to spot them hiding in the bushes. He is very strong, and between his talons and his bite he is not an individual to be crossed.

 History
His mother honestly could not recall which stallion might be responsible for the baskets she tended to, but it didn't matter much. Girls were better than boys anyway, so they didn't need a father. But when Severi popped out of one, not only wingless but with a tail like that, well, she knew he simply wouldn't fit in among the ladies she spent time with. She deposited the young colt on the shores of a lake that didn't look to be claimed, telling him that she'd met his father in a place like this so it would be best for him to live there instead of high in the mountains with her and his sisters.
Severi trusted her, but never seeing her again or anyone who might be his father, he began to grow certain that he was simply unwanted. At first it hurt, he felt abandoned and lost. But then he realized that wasn't the case at all. He belonged here. This was the place he was suited to, with the murky water in which he could disappear and the flashing fish that seemed so bright to his often hazy eyes. His mother had been right to leave him, this was his place and his lesson had been learned. No more did he envy those who touched the sky, or long for his family to come and take him with them. He had become a part of the lake, and it was a part of him, and that was all there was.
One day a mare came to his lake, and though he initially responded as he always did to trespassers, there was something... more... about her. Something special. Something... something... He didn't drive her away as he had the others, and found himself conflicted as to why. Her presense made him consider silly things, like whether or not she might like the colorful shell he'd found, or if she would like him to spend more time on the surface with her. Never before had Severi wanted the company of another, but something about her thawed him, if only a little. Maybe, maybe, she made him just a little bit happier. But it was not to last. A skinwalker came, and while he even left his lake behind, he never did find his precious mare. In time he gave up the search, returning to his lake once more. He defends it even more zealously now, no one will ever take this from him.
