Sorrel had been daydreaming, visions of Swamp Song and children running through her mind, when she noticed a movement in the bush. Pulling her attention back to reality she peers between the leaves as best she can. Not being able to make out more then a vague shape, Sorr pulls herself up and quietly walks over. She steps lightly, not wanting to scare away what ever might be there, after all if its feeding on her garden it just might end up her lunch.
"Stuffing your face on my hard work, are you?" she asks the little green and yellow foxbun she finds.
The foxbun seems to shake his head and take a few loping hops toward her. No, just watching you. Expectant does are interesting to observe.
At the first burst of thoughts in her mind, that is thoughts not her own, Sorr scrambles back several feet, eyes wide with shock. "Y-you talk! H-how?!" she stammers out. Before the little creature can answer her, Sorr's mind catches up to her. "Oh! Are you Stag or Mare, if I can ask?" If she is indeed awake then this foxbun being one of the MotherFather's chosen is the only answer for his (or her) speech. Well, thought-speak. Sorr amends silently. She sits on her haunches and stretches out her front legs to lay down, but still watch the little foxbun-Legendary. "Will you bless me, please?" She asks after the silence stretches out long enough for her to know he/she won't tell her/his gender. Or not yet, at least. Maybe?
Fish Bones takes long minutes looking at her, longer even then the silence after her last question. He'd been watching her for a while now, longer then he normally does. This one loves her garden, and her family even more. She's also a meat eater, not so much as her mother, and Fish Bones doesn't think he can blame her for eating what she's grown up on. Still, he wishes this doe was a bit more picky about what she'd hunt. And cultivate, he thinks privately, looking around her garden.
After the silence stretches out so long that Sorr has started to fidget, Fish Bones takes the last few hops over to her. May your children be wiser in appetite then you. he thinks to her, then gives a gentle smile. Really, some of the things you consume are really bad for you. The MotherFather didn't put them here for fun, but to heal. he adds, never having been too approving of mind altering plants to begin with.
If Sorr's cheeks weren't already pink she'd be blushing. "I haven't had any of my special plants since I went off with Swamp Song. It felt.. wrong too. I don't know how else to say it, I've never had that feeling about them before. But thank you." she says, leaning forward to nuzzle the top of his/her head.
Fish Bones looks up and nuzzles her back. Motherly instinct warning you away.
Sorr snaps up, hearing a crashing and familiar growl near by. "You should go, mom's lynx just had cubs and she doesn't normally hunt here but she's picked the territory pretty clean to feed them." she says, worry in her eyes.
Fish Bones looks toward the sound, being a Stag he isn't worried, but it would ease the doe's mind. So he nods before turning and bounding off. Sorr watches until his/her little form is gone, then she lay back down again.
