So there was a big announcement on Pokemon Smash regarding a new game, which had been teased about earlier by Junichi Masuda. Two new games, Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2 were revealed, but little information was given. They're basically direct sequels, the first in the series. They're due in Japan in June, and will be for DS.
I don't see how they can be super incredible games coming out so soon. Its cool they're doing something like this, but I'll reserve much judgement until I see more. I still havn't picked up Black or White, largely in hopes of just picking up Grey later (which may never happen), but if the new games are better and there isn't a lot of incentive to having played the first one, I may just pick up one of the sequels. If not, maybe Black and White will price drop a bit. Either way I'm sure we have a while for it to show up in NA.

I wouldn't mind if they used Unova again as long as they add distinct new area and/or change the current areas. A time skip (say, 10 years) would do the trick.
I would also like the plot to focus less on gyms and badges, and make it seem more like a quest. Maybe instead of gyms, there could be temples and dungeons to explore. Instead of badges to collect, you need to gather 8 artifacts (orbs, gems, instruments, whatever). The evil team(s) could also be trying to accomplish the same goal, and you'll cross paths a few times.
Of course N would have to return and help or hinder the playable character in some way.
As for the playable character, it will probably be a new character that gets caught up in an epic quest. The playable character from Black/White will appear as a "final" boss with Level 70 pokemon.
The Pokemon roster probably won't change that much. If anything, they'll add a few new forms in, and include some pre-Gen V pokemon from the begining.
