[JRP || Dingergisbar x Pirato] Getting your sea legs

With sure footed steps Dingergisbar made her way through the pride boarder, her nerves slightly getting the better of her. The idea of finally joining a pride seemed... Odd. Welcomed but none the less odd seeing as how she had been born and raised as a rogue. In fact, she was pretty sure her mother and her mother before her had all been rogues too. So this, this was indeed probably the scariest thing she had ever done in her life. But she was excited too. Dinger stifled the laugh that wanted to burst from her chest. She found hilarity in her own whirlpool of emotions and she honestly wouldn't blame anyone else for laughing at her for it either. Instead a small smile caressed her maw as she made her way to the center of the pride where everyone seemed to be rushing off to do their various jobs within the pride or simply their own leisurely things.

As she gazed around she took in each lion and how different each one looked from the other. Not only coloring but how they held themselves. Their own quirks. These would be her brothers and sisters. Well, for the most part. Dinger took in a deep breath, calming herself a bit before she continued her journey through the pride. She wasn't quite sure where she was going just yet but she found herself pressing on to the more eastern part of the pride. Here there were still lions running around doing their various business transactions but there were less and the air seemed to be much more calmer then at the center. Here Dinger noticed small cubs were playing just off in the distance with what was probably their mother. Her smile grew a bit. She felt very much like a cub at that very moment, with not much care in the world other then the idea of what her new home would be like. It felt... Amazing.

His day had proven satisfying, and the large male had celebrated with a nice fermented mango. It had been bitter on the tongue, but the aftertaste hadn't been so terrible. At this point, he was used to it and he didn't even really notice how bitter it was. Once the mango had been consumed, Pirato stepped out of his den. He wiggled his toes as he stared down at the others as they bustled. His den was off a rockier cliff. He looked down on the pride, and could see almost all the land from his position. He smiled when the sun touched him, and made his way, clumsily, down the rocky steps. He was always happier when his paws were shifting on the sand. Though it was only made better by the oceans water rushing over his paws.

He swayed a bit, hitting his shoulder against a rock that stuck out on his way down. It tore into his shoulder, and he cursed, jumping back and falling completely off the rocky embankment. It didn't take long for him to stand back up, and dust himself off with his paws. Others knew not to stare at him, though some cast an odd glance his way.

"Carry on then." He said, waving his paw.

Dinger's attention was quickly deterred from her thoughts at the sound of another voice --male-- not far from where she was. When her gray eyes found themselves resting on a darker red coated male she tilted her head. It seemed to her he was acting a bit odd. Curiously she made her way towards him. When she finally reached him she noticed that he was heavily decorated with items, though not overly so as to make him look over done. A smile came to her maw once more. "Hello." She said with a friendly tone. "My name is Dingergisbar, though I prefer to be called Dinger." She added, moving herself so that she was standing before the male. "Are you alright?" Dinger asked curiously, still very much unaware exactly who this male was in relation to the pride.

Had she have known who he was at first glance she probably wouldn't have been so forward. Then again, Dinger was quite hard to peg down for doing one thing all the time. One could never really guess what she was going to do or say next. Even her. After she asked her final question and paused she sat down, tilting her head slightly to one side as she waited for him to answer. This male certainly seemed to be a little odder then most. Not that, that was necessarily a bad thing. Just unusual. Then again, she had never seen a buzzed or drunk lion before.

When everyone had gone back to their tasks, he cleared his throat and straightened up. Though he really didn't expect anyone to approach him. He looked over the red female and arched an eyebrow. He took in her words, and then thought to himself. Was he okay? Well, only his pride had been hurt.

"Aye, love. I am fine." He responded pleasantly. Though his words were slightly slurred. She spoke her name and he wasn't sure if he would remember it later. It was a good thing most girls were love, and most males were lads.. Otherwise he might get in trouble for not remembering names as well as he should.

"Pleasure. I be Pirato, the Pirate King." He nodded. He knew it was weird that he was a pirate named Pirate.. But it was a pirate name surely suited for him. It had not been his birth name, not that he shared that with anyone. Ever.

Of course the red lioness was slightly confused when the male called her love, but she took note of his slightly slurred speech and figured it had to do with whatever was wrong with him. And then his words hit her like a ton of bricks. The pirate king! Dinger had just stumbled upon the king! Her eyes opened a bit wider and she blinked at him a couple times. Was he serious? Was this male really the king? And even worse would he kick her out for being an idiot? Was there a certain way she was supposed to address him? Or should she not talk at all?

As the questions swirled around in her head her mouth finally opened and let out the least logical response she could have said. "Pirato? So you're the pirate king named pirate?" Dinger said, mentally slapping herself after she realized that not only had she talked, but it had been the most idiotic question ever.

"I was told about this place by Cythraul...." Dinger quickly added, trying to erase her idiotic moment. "I'm still trying to figure out things." She added, though not clarifying what things she was referring to.

He looked at her curiously for a moment. Probably thinking something about her having made fun of his name. He cleared his throat after a moment of silence, and shrugged.
"Aye. The word pirate has to be comin' from somewhere, right?" He asked as he shook off the comment. He supposed it was weird to be a pirate named pirate.. But he was named Pirate before he had even made this motley bunch he called a pride.

"Ah, yes. My first mate. Good guy that fellow." Truth was he knew very little about Cythraul. He knew that he wasn't blind like the fellow tried to pass off. But he hadn't called him out, and he hadn't planned on it.

Dinger smiled and nodded. "You're right." She said, her grin growing a bit. "He is." A simple response but the red lioness left it at that seeing that she didn't really need to tell him why she thought he was or vise versa. "Though, I believe that any other name for you wouldn't be... Right." Dinger added in an attempt to return to their previous subject. "Your pride is beautiful." She said truthfully, not really intending to come off as a lioness who wanted to kiss his toes for everything he did but still wanting to get the point across that she was glad to be here. "I'd never seen the ocean before coming here." She added, her toes pawing at the sand beneath them. In fact, she hadn't really seen sand of this kind before either. It was... Soft, brightly colored and just all around smelled good. Well, at least as well as sand could smell. Her grey-black eyes were now trained on the sand beneath her feet.

She may not have wanted to seem like she was fawning, but that was what made Pirato's day. He loved the ladies, and any attention was good attention. Though recently with the arrival of his second litter, he had decided it was best not to act on the desires.

He grinned, and it was a devious grin at best. He was a lush and he usually had to fight to hide such a fact. But it was a very, very poorly hidden secret.

"Aye, lass. No other name would be fittin'." She complimented his lands, and it made him beam with pride. He knew the lands he had claimed were beautiful. It was part of the reason he had chosen this lifestyle. The refusal to leave his lands.

Dinger looked back up at the male with a friendly smile. "Can I stay here?" She asked flat out with no sign of embarrassment after the fact. For one reason or another she felt as though she needed to ask him for his permission. Or at least his approval. "I'd like to call it home." Dingergisbar smiled wistfully as she moved the sand with her paws, once more her eyes trained on it. This land was new and foreign but more then welcome to her. She felt like she belonged here, even though at the moment she wasn't sure exactly how she would fit in or where. But that mattered very little to her. If he said she could stay then she would do whatever she could to prove that she was worthy of being called a Pirate.

He smiled, placing a paw on her cheek and chuckled. He was always happy to swell his numbers, especially for ladies.. Always for the ladies. He nodded, and his dreaded white mane hardly moved from place.

"Then home it shall be. Welcome." He said, and took his paw off her cheek to motion to the lands around him.

This was a happy day. He would have to celebrate in his own way later..
