And what now (Soiree and Arenui)

Watching the male, Soiree snorted as he mentioned the rain, eyes rolling. She had shelter already! A home, thank you very much. Padding off in the separate direction, she slipped into her little log that she slept in. Maybe not that convient or normal, but shut up. She was small enough, she liked small spaces, and it was good protection. Usually. Mostly.

Watch him need rescuing soon, she grumbled to herself mentally. He was a grumpy butt, she concluded, but her savior, which meant he was her new best friend. Wait. No, he didn't have a say.

Arenui looked behind himself and watched as she padded off in the other direction. He couldn’t remember anything that was shelter worthy in that direction. Maybe if the storm picked up, like Arenui knew it would he could pad out and see if she just was being female about the whole thing. He wouldn’t put it past the girl, and he had just put in all that effort.

He walked towards his own shelter, glad it was up and out of the way of the storm, even if the water level would rise. He briefly wondered about the fish, but they had been through storms before and had returned. He would have to go to the upper level of the cave but nothing new.

Soiree stretched out inside her log, wincing as she heard the rain fall. Her little log kept her safe, for now. She settled into the log and closed her eyes.

When she opened them she heard thunder snapping. Her ears flattened, unsure if the storm would last long enough to actually do any harm, or if her log was suddenly a bad place to stay. Closing her eyes, again, she attempted to sleep through the storm, struggling to gain sleep.

Arenui sighed and opened his eyes. He had fallen asleep to conserve energy as there wasn’t much one could do in a cave during the storm. A bird hoped down and stared at him for a while before disappearing up into the higher portions of the cave.

He briefly wondered how that female he had rescued was doing. Hopefully she actually had shelter, he briefly considered going to look for her, but that would get him sopping wet and she was probably smart enough to get a decent shelter, however if the though plagued him long enough he would probably go out and search for her. It just wasn’t that pressing at the moment.

No! Her log was becoming flooded, so she leapt up and out, nearly knocked back on her feet. The small vixen crouched against a tree, deciding she would look for a cave or human dwelling to hide within. Her log was done, sadly, and as she was being drenched she longingly stared at it. It was a good home, if brief. She never had a permanent home, always choosing the ones that would fall apart.

So, the drenched woman began to pad about, using trees for support. In the distance she saw a cave, ears raising happily. Oh! Shelter!

This is why Arenui hated company because you started to care for them if only a fraction. Then it drove you mad wondering if they had drowned and where sitting there like a dead log. Well obviously he wasn’t going to get and relaxation until he could see if she was okay or not. With a sigh he hefted himself to his feet and started walking towards the front of his cave. The cave was lit by the glowing plants and luckily the front entrance hadn’t yet flooded so acess to and from where still relatively easy.

Once out of the cave he let out a sigh and looked around for the vixen, he noticed a fox like shape in the foreground which had to be her since everyone else would have made it to relative safety. Probably a good thing he came out too as the closer he got the more water logged she looked. “Come on you, you obviously need shelter.”

When she heard a familiar voice she grinned. Oh? It was the boy! Her tail wagged, sending water flying violently as she padded right up to him. The lazy girl was actually hyper, though it was probably due to being drenched in water.

"Thank you!" She rubbed her wet little cheek against his and hopped right into the cave. Letting out a dramatic sigh, the girl decided that she was tired once more and, without drying herself off, began an attempt to nap.

Ugh why was this female so much trouble? Well at least she was being partially smart now and letting her self be brought to shelter, he wanted to know what she had been using ealier, but it hardly mattered in the long term of things. With a sigh he moved to let her into the cave.

Arenui let out a glare at the rubbing and probably would have cared if he hadn’t been wet as well. Following her back into his cave he went to partially dry himself off when he noticed the female was trying to nap. “you know you should dry off first you’ll get a cold if you just fall asleep there….” When there was no answer he shook his head. “At least fall asleep next to the hot springs if you're not going to bother drying off”

"I won't get sick, silly!" Soiree quietly chirped back, one eye opening. Her ear twitched, frowning briefly. "What's a hot spring?" The vixen questioned quietly, ear twitching once more. Was it fun to sleep in? Was it a place for sleeping? That sounded fantastic! Maybe she could even meet some sleeping partners?

She eyed the male curiously, nuzzling her muzzle onto her paws and wrapping her cold tail around her body. Maybe the male wouldn't be so grumpy in the morning. Maybe he was a morning person? Maybe he was grumpy because he hadn't eaten. Maybe he needed someone to pick him up? Hm. Maybe she'd try when she wasn't tired.

He raised an eye and wanted to make a smart a** comment, but figured eh it wasn’t his business if she was going to go to bed wet and or cold. After all he had done his duty when he had pulled her out of the rain and into relative shelter right? However her question about hot springs had him pausing for a few seconds.

“Hot springs? Well there pools of water that radiate heat and steam. It’s a good place to ease you to sleep or warm you up I suppose” He stated. He wasn’t too good at dishing out answered. Most of the time he either let Walker talk or Oberon if the other male was feeling sociable that day.

She puffed her cheeks out in thought. Hot springs? Where did one find those? She was too lazy to find one herself, she realized, but maybe if someone showed her. Who did she know who would? Uhhh. Lets see. She basically knew no one. Except.... except this guy! Her eyes flicked to view him, head raising as a grin crossed her face.

"You'll show me, won't you?" She chirped, grinning at the poor victim named Arenui. It seemed Soiree was made to be this mans pain in the a**. The poor fella.

Areunui stared at her like she had grown an extra head. Ugh he should have just let her drown in the storm or actually get eaten by that bear, would have saved him lots of trouble in the long run. Well it’s not like he didn’t know how to handle these types of personalities. Plus he had mentioned the hot springs first.
“well come on then” he replied shaking his head. He turned around to go deeper into the cave systems, this one just being the first room. As he walked into the other room, It revealed sort of a bigger globe like structure, what should have been dark was cast with a weird translucent glow from the plants scattered in abundance around and from the minerals and rocks from the ceiling. There seemed to be a pool that connected somewhere to the ocean and it made a sort of humming noise whenever a particularly violent wave hit the outside.
However he was looking for the other pool, the one that emitted heat, once he found it he sat on a rock and turned to see if she had followed. “Well we’re here”

Wait? Now? Here? Her ears raised, amazed as she skittered off (and tripped in the process) to follow him. Eagerly, the woman skipped as they walked, freezing once they reached the interesting structure on the inside. Letting out a squeak in awe, the girl watched him sit down and padded right up to him, head tilting.

"So. You just walk into it? Does it hurt?" Aha! So the lazy fox could be made to actually be moveable! She stood onto her back legs, paws touching the rim of the hot spring as she curiously sniffed at the hot water. A paw raised, batting at the water and aiming some at Areunui.

Arenui once again felt a small little pang of surprise that she really didn’t know what a hot spring was. However it wasn’t his business what she did or didn’t do in her life. “Yes you just walk in, no it doesn’t hurt for the most part I suppose. Then again it all depends on how much heat you can handle.” He spoke up answering her questions.

While her attention was focused on the water he frowned. Hadnt he just decided to let everyone just suffer, he wasn’t dealing with others any more after Shuuha had just left. He was well ready to blame every portion of his recent bad luck on Oberon, the silly fool and his insistence that he not become a violent hermit. Luckily his thoughts had him facing partially away so when Soiree splashed him it only hit the side of his head. He frowned and in almost reflexed splashed back at her.

Startled at first, a squeak left her and then a laugh. Using her tail, she tossed water at him before suddenly swimming closer. The vixen, usually lazy and hard to move, was suddenly energetic and hyper. Her paws raised, a threat, and suddenly she wrapped her arms around his shoulders and pulled him right into the water!

"You're being grumpy! I can feel it!" Soiree chirped, overly pleased at her little task of annoying the crap out of Arenui. Actually... She was trying to cheer him up, even if it meant being an annoyance. She could sense he was grumpy, maybe even sad. It lured out that playful side that wanted to help and cheer others up.
