And what now (Soiree and Arenui)

Arenui let out a noise of discomfort as he once again managed to drive some one away from his territory; seriously it was just a little spot on the beach, with a cave that had mutant birds and fish. Thinking of the fish and birds caused another snarl to cross his face as he remembered Shuuha and Arenui had actually taken the time to show him his little paradise. Then the blue male disappeared. It wasn’t as if Arenui really cared or he might admit he was lonely just a little bit. Pfft foxes like Arenui didn’t get lonely what so ever. However he had, and once he realized it none of the foxes wanted to be around him for weeks. Only thing that had dragged him out of his cave and into sunlight again was Oberon. who had wisely disappeared while Arenui was eating.
Then life had been interrupted by a young male kit, well calling it male had been some what of an understatement. Walker… or at least that’s what Arenui thought his name was probably should have been born a girl. After all he had the whole rescuing princess thing down. Luckily he had gotten slightly better as an adult, slightly but not enough for Arenui to both staying around. Besides walker would be okay as he had caught another guys eye.
Watching the latest batch of foxes run off he wondered what there was to do today. He was running out of foxes to fight, maybe they had finally learned to stay off his territory.

Hmpf. Soiree really hated not knowing what to do. One would think she was just lazy without a purpose, yet that wasn't entirely true. Sure, Soiree was lazy, but this was because she couldn't find anything to interest her. The last interesting person she met had vanished, sadly, and now she was left lazing in the sun and lazily watching the birds fly by.

It wasn't that she depended on people to amuse her, she just didn't have a reason to really do anything. No friends, no rivals, Soiree was left with absolutely nothing to do. Cept work on her snoozing.

Well now that his territory was safe and secure for at least another day, should he go back to his cave? That had possibilities he hadn’t seen his bird Torii in a while. Of course Torii was probably off making other glowy birds given the current time frame. Lifting a paw he noticed his particular battle had splattered him with a lot of blood. Looking at the ominous clouds over head he figured a quick bath to at least clear the blood off him would be better done soon rather than later.
A frown kind of covered his face as the wind shifted and brought a new smell to him. Was it another fox to fight and show he wasn’t going to give this spot up. He wondered if foxes just came for a chance to fight, it had been so long since he had lost a fight, but then to lose would have been to die. Arenui wasn’t planning on dying any time soon. In fact if he died before his time he’d probably bully the modeity of death into spitting him back up into the world of the living.

Yawning, Soiree cracked her limbs, flopping onto her side. Hm? A new scent? Her ear flicked, one eye cracking open. Hrn. They weren't anywhere near, why bother? They didn't smell particularly interesting. Boring. Her eye closed now, briefly twitching her tail.

Seriously. Life was boring. She needed something to do. A person to meet, a friend to make. Hnnnnn. But everyone was so boring. Hn. She might as well just sleep the years away~

Well none the less he really really didn’t like other foxes intruding on to his property. Shuuha had been the last straw. The last one he was even going to think of allowing them close. So off to go see just who was on his property? Might as well start another fight it was a way to pass the day he supposed.

After a few minutes he surprised to see it was a sleeping female. Great some times those where even worse than the males who wanted a fight, although speaking of fights looked like he wasn’t the only one to check her out. The way she was sleeping made her seem dead and the bear he was now staring at seemed to want to eat her?

Hnnn. Cocking one eye open, her head raised, eyes blearily blinking. What was that scent?

Oh.
Oh.
"OH!"

The vixen, for the first time in months, leapt to her feet quickly, eyes wide and frightened. Her legs seemed to root in their spot, unable to budge from her current position, which soon would be in a bears belly. Wait. Wait wait, HOLD ON WAIT. She was far to young for this.

... Play dead was the way to go, right? No, the bear had seen her move already. Well... Run? No! That made them chase you! Hnn! Was her only choice was to be eaten?!

Arenui sighed and shook his head. It was really none of his business whether or not the bear ate the vixen. It would probably save him from whatever problem she did bring with her except… Well the bear probably wouldn’t eat everything and then he’d have to stare at the carcass for weeks. It was hardly a charming notion.
Come to think of it why the hell wasn’t the vixen moving did she not have a self-preservation instinct or something. Then again waking up to a bear would be a bit disconcerting to most normal foxes. Perhaps she was at a loss of what to do. Arenui let out a rather annoyed tch sound before staring at the bear.
Well he hadn’t really fought a bear before but it looked as if it would be too much of a problem, the bear was just looking for an easy meal, if he showed it wasn’t an easy meal perhaps it would leave. He popped one of his shoulder joints before readying himself and jumping out tackling the bear.

Flashes of her life flickered before her eyes, fright deep within her chest. However, as a flash of movement lunged at the bear her head raised, shock in her eyes. Who... A male. All she could see was a male. She considered escaping, the bear was preoccupied and the male seemed to have it down.

Yet.... what if he got hurt? s**t, when did Soiree ever care about anything? Well, a man didn't usually save a girl from a bear, that itself was interesting. Her mind ran through thoughts quickly until finally she called: "Is there anything I can do to help?"

Talking during a bear fight? Yup, she'd do it.

The bear tried to epically buck Arenui off of him or at least ram him into a tree but Arenui held on by biting into the bears flesh. Predictably this didn’t thrill the Bear all that much and it then tried swatting at Arenui. The said Modifox male barely kept a hold when a paw connected to his side. Well that would definitely leave a mark in the morning. The reason why he even got hit in the first place said vixen decided to be distracting by talking in the middle of a bear fight.

“murmoo mwan mwop mwalking” he tried to say although unfortunately talking didn’t translate so well in biting the bear language. God he so needed to get down from here. “You can distract him” Arenui mentioned having taken a few seconds to let go of the bear. Good thing the arms couldn’t yet reach him although getting knocked into a tree was never fun. Luckily he was still on the bear.

Running, she had a problem briefly when she nearly tripped in fright. However, she managed to get up, tense, and lash her tail side to side, growling lowly.

"Alright! Bear, come on! Look at meee!" For once she ran about, for once she actually ran about. Leaping up, she skidded side to side, hoping for the bear to see her.

Arenui slipped off from the bears back now that the bear was distracted and now he could go about chasing the bear off. As long as she didn’t have kits some where near by or was some hot shot male then he wouldn’t have to do any real damage. Sure taking down a bear would be fun, however at the moment he had other things to do.

When the bear charged towards her again Arenui maneuvered in front of it hackles raised and started backing the bear up. It would try to move forwards and Arenui didn’t let up any ground. Finally the bear decided to leave, once it was a good distance away and not coming back Arenui turned to leave when his leg buckled a bit. Great so the bear had managed to hurt him.

The male had caught her attention. Somehow, someway, the rainbow vixen was awake and watching him as the bear left, and suddenly the idea of a nap did not meet her. No. This male was a badass, and boy did she like that. She had never met a real badass before. When his leg buckled, she moved closer, put her weight against his and forcing him to lay down when her tail pressed into the crook of the leg.

"Stay here." She mewed, leaving him. When she returned, she had berries and leaves, smashing the berries and preparing the leaves. She was able to do things, just it needed a special person to make her actually get the hell off her butt.

Well considering the adrenaline was dying off from having fought the bear he needed to take care of his wounds before going back to his cave. He wasn’t stupid enough to just storm back there just to get out of the company of the now very much alive female even if something inside of him was just itching to do so. However it would look weak and foolish to storm off when his leg could definitely give out any moment. Suddenly he tensed up as she maneuvered him so most of his weight was on her. Didn’t she know about personal space? However it was also expected her reaction so he calmed back down.

Of course the ordering him down was going to have to go even if he complied with her wished and waited until she came back. Well apparently she was going to help with his wounds. Hopefully she knew how and wasn’t just guessing.

When she turned back to him, she flicked her tail. She went to work on his leg, actually properly fixing it as best as she could. She nodded towards him when she was done, stepping back and licking her claws clean. Gross, they were sticky.

"There. I even bandaged it with leaves. You'll need to come back so I can bandage it up again, and check its progress." The vixen settled down onto her stomach, yawning and resting her head on her paws.

Arenui watched her with skeptical eyes. Well at least she seemed to know what she was doing. Of course it didn’t really come as too much of a shock. Tons of foxes had hidden talents and it was silly to assume too much. Still she had helped him even if it was from saving her from the bear.
“Fine I suppose I can come back” Arenui said although the voice was a bit raspy. He didn’t use his voice too much and the little bit of yelling he had done during the fight had already stressed out his throat. Besides it was high time to get to his own shelter so not using it in the near future didnt really bother him at all. After all there was nothing but birds to talk to. “Be careful of the storm coming, don’t want you dying off from a storm after the trouble I just went through” He warned before turning to leave.
