My boss knows :(

I was talking with my boss at the store, about how I'm anxious to meet a fellow animal health tech that believes in biologically appropriate food (champion rep) and how weird it is, to work at a clinic and go to school, where the things I sell are considered criminal.

Well don't I get home and find out my dad installed a kitched for one of the vets who owns my clinic, and blabbled about how im interested in nutrition, and sell good and RAW foods. Yup, he pulled out the R word. I am so dead crying

I've been keeping the whole, second job thing, to myself, for the past 4 months. Especially because of what that job is. Now my boss of all people knows where my allegiances lie. It is such a crime to be a health tech, and feed raw, it's like, you failed the brainwashing and must be sent for reprograming. I'm seriously freaking out. I've considered moving to a province where raw is more accepted. Or even just holistic foods. I've considered taking a nutrition specialty all the way in like pensilvania or some place where it's not taught by hills. I'm so tired of this industry being like a giant conspiracy. The vets think the holistic people are crazy and poisoning their pets and the holistic people don't trust their vets and it's just crazy. Everyone thinks the other side is completely ignorant. burning_eyes

If your boss at the clinic confronts you about it, just try to have a civil conversation about how yes, that's what you feed your pets at home and what you sell at your other job, but that you wouldn't even so much as mention it to any customers at the clinic. If your boss is a good person, you shouldn't have to go any more into it than that.

That's ridiculous! There need to be more clinics out there that support raw and the people who feed it. It would suck if you seriously have to move to another /province/ to find such a place to work. It really sucks that there is so much--very real--animosity towards each side from the other.
