As common as snow, up along the coastlines and very abundant in the sea up north, are ice floes. Aside from animals and the boats navigating through them, not many people would walk upon them. Due to thin ice and the very good chance of being tipped over into the water. However, shinobi have been known to easily walk and run along the ice floes and do battles with others. It is a remnant from another time, from the Land of Snow. Otogakure residents instinctually know the way back to the far north, beyond even Kumo and their Cloud country, to where this location exists.
