Time.

Time had passed since Tsubame's death, and her young were already on the brink of the greatest adventures of their lives. Little Pesars would soon go out on their quests, while their sisters would move into their permanent harems to have cubs of their own. That is, what few would ever come back. It scared Ban'ma how detached she was from the litter. Had it been any other cub she would have worried herself to death over their father carrying them off the way he did, but now...she could only pray they would stay away. That the girls found strength in the rogue lands; strength she could never have.

Of course, today wasn't all frowns and scowls. Today, she was going to find that Pad she'd spoken to before and get him to smile! Lately, memories of his smile was all that was getting her through, and Ban'ma was determined to see it again.

"Excuse me, have you seen...?"

"Pardon me, but-"

"Do you know...?"

"Argh! Where the hell is he?" She huffed.

Aziz'din was lazing near the collection of rocks he used to frequent as a cub. He had loved to sit upon the highest rock and watch the pride go by. He'd quiz himself of who was who, and who was the banu or who and others things, making sure he had memorised most, if not all of the pride. He prided himself on knowing who everyone was, but there was a lot of rogues, and even more litters being born, it was hard to keep track now.

Aziz stretched, and pushed himself to his feet, his mane dusty with the dirt from the ground, but a quick shake dispelled most of the dirt. A quick glance made sure he was presentable, before starting his leisurely walk back to his den.

His banu were around...somewhere, but he was not concerned. The more comfortable and familiar with the pride they were, the better, or so he believed.
