The night was calm, and the caverns lit by fireflies. The hybrid couldn't think of a calmer place he'd rather be than laying on the edge of the walkway and looking out at the lake. Ever since Nahasi had given him the tour and shown him this place the male had liked to come here to think or relax. It was his little haven within the pride lands.
The entire group was wonderful, he would admit that, but since he came he hadn't really met any of the others, sure, he might have passed them in the tunnels, or spoken a word or two to some, but for the most part, he still felt new. It was something he would get over, but he hoped to make friends soon. He was lonely and while he knew he would meet his special someone in time, he hoped making friends would be a much easier process.
It had been hard in the rogue lands, and even growing up with the Dawn Walkers. None of his old pride had ever openly said anything about his heritage, but he knew they thought him unnatural. The rogue lands had been even worse for the hybrid though. Day after day he met scorn and ridicule by many he met. Perhaps he was just unlucky, but for him, it felt like he couldn't find a place.
Now a days though, he felt at home. He'd not seen a hint of animosity over what he was by anyone, it was sort of nice. He even saw a few couples that were leopard and lion, which meant he felt even more at home. No one cares about your species here.
