The world was a very big place. Bigger still to one young cub, just old enough to start exploring it. That didn't mean that one needed to rush, however - exploring at a slow and easy pace was still exploring, after all! With this thought in mind, Adagio meandered around in no particular direction, watching and listening - always listening - to everything around him. He walked for only a little distance, before flopping down to the ground and listening to the wind stirring the grass.
The sound was faint, but it was there - a quiet, easy kind of shh-shh-shh-shh that soothed him and made him feel at ease. His ears flicked once, twice, three times, and as he shifted he could have sworn he heard something nearby, a low kind of thrum-whirr-whirr. Glancing to his right, where the sound originated from, he saw an insect - he was too young to know what it was but he liked the sound that it was making, so he lay still, lest her frighten it into leaving.
But for whatever reason - who knew what went on in an insect's mind? - it chose that moment to fly away, and Adagio couldn't help the disappointed "Aww..." that escaped him as he watched it leave. He only sulked for a moment, though, before standing up again and wandering in another direction - maybe his mother was around here somewhere. It would be nice to talk about the things in the world with someone who knew about so much more of it than he did.

Adagio looked up when he heard the chuff, and his blue eyes lit up with happiness as he changed course and headed right toward her. "Mama~! Mama~!" He called out, but despite his visible excitement upon seeing her he didn't pick up his pace at all, and continued his slow meander in her direction. "I have questions, Mama," he said once he felt he was close enough. "Lots of questions, and - and you're really smart so I thought I would ask you!"
He smiled, then, and flopped to the ground, rolling over onto his back so he could peer up at his only parent that way, instead of having to angle his head up. Besides, from this position he could look at the clouds and wonder what kind of sound they might make way up in the sky. Clouds were lazy thing, only moving when they were pushed! But they had to make some kind of sound - maybe it was like the sound birds' wings made when they flew!
"Mama, I saw a bug but it flew away when I was tryin'a listen to it. Why did it leave?"
