Dog breed ID plz?

For a long time I thought this was a husky but now that I look at it I don't think it is. The owners are never home so I can't ask them. I've been trying to take a pic of this dog for ages and they recently tore half their fence down so I don't really have to ask to get too close...

Husky or Malamute. And it looks like the poor guy has a pretty bad eye infection.

The yard looks horrible...all that mud. This poor thing needs some help.
