Pales Okay so maybe he was more of a danger to himself than the creature apparently was because he swung and actually hit himself on the head - luckily it was a light tap but still it was rather annoying how he seemed to hit himself more than he hit the target sometimes unless he got a lucky swing in. Theta Seven was starting to feel more than a little ragged. At least he still had a med kit if he needed it...For now he'd stick it out. "C'mon you little..." The creature, of course, ignored him. The moment it landed after its failed attempt at an attack, it started to move around again, not risking staying still long enough for a hit to land... Before darting towards its target suddenly, swiping at his leg.

Pales "Ow!" Theta Seven called out in an annoyed tone before he reached out and made a return swipe and felt it connect to something that thankfully wasn't any part of him but something else. Thank goodness that he got lucky SOMETIMES. He felt a small surge of satisfaction and then waited for the little beastie to try again - well he didn't WAIT but he was certainly ready for it...Kind of... (( Weapon being used: Mace/Small hand club Total Damage to self: 0 Total Damage to opponent FOG MONSTER: 2 Total HP value left: 14))
It hissed softly at the hit; if its target was waiting for something to happen, the creature was too. However, after a moment of waiting, it got tired of doing nothing and quickly made a rush for its target. When it was close enough, it leaped, aiming for its target's arm.

Pales He got hit on the arm which made him swing toward the beast to try and hit it but only caught himself on the arm as well because he missed the creature and just hit himself. Seriously? Ugh. He winced a bit and stared after the creature with a displeased expression behind his mask. There was another hiss from the creature as it looked at him, looking for another opening. Without warning, it leaped at its target again, aiming for his legs this time.

Pales Thankfully the critter missed unfortunately he swung down toward his legs where the creature was aiming and ended up hitting himself in the legs as a result. Theta Seven let out a disgruntled cry and growled a bit putting the mace away and holding up his fists and waited for his next chance to attack. <******** the Mace. It looked on as the weapon was tossed aside, and he took on an... Offensive pose with his fists? Could its target be mentally retarded? Maybe, maybe... Either way, the creature rushed towards him again, fists up; looks like it was going to be a battles of the fists. Being close enough, it punched him on his mask before bouncing off, landing a short distance in front of him.

Pales Retarded? More like desperate and not wanting to hit himself anymore. He moved to pelt the beast with a fist before it could properly retreat all the way. At least this felt a bit more accurate at the moment. He would reclaim the Mace in a moment - if he survived. The hit had landed, and the creature was not happy about it. It hissed angrily, wondering how its target could have hit it with his fists when he couldn't even swing a weapon properly. In its rage, it swung out with its fists, aiming at his stomach... Unfortunately, it missed and swung by its target harmlessly.

Thank goodness that he was getting at least a little luckier now that he moved to his fists instead of his Mace. Right now he felt like hell... The punch sent the creature flying backwards. As it landed, it dissipated back into the fog, like it was never there in the first place...

"Crap," Delta Seven cursed as something leapt out at him. The chubby little shadow monster swiped, and D7 barely managed to dodge it.
He eyed the fiend as it fell back a short distance, no doubt readying itself for another attack. It seemed solid enough right now. He'd just have to hope that the stake would work on it.
Somewhere, Death and whoever else was in charge were probably laughing at them. Humans who thought themselves big and tough, under attack from small shadow creatures.
"It ain't as easy as that," he snapped at the monster. Delta Seven charged it with his stake, driving the wooden weapon forward into it's torso. He quickly yanked it out, and backed up to the Deli and Thev once more.

Mediciner So much for stairs.
"s**t on a s**t stiiii -!" was all Deli managed to get out before the ground swallowed them all up. One rough landing later, the guy was on his feet in a completely different area.
Scratch that. He landed on his feet and crumpled to the ground. Then he hastily got up with several groans; the nunchuks on his belt, not even five seconds removed from his backpack, were already proving a nuisance.
"Swell set of stairs, Mysterio," he grumbled, rubbing the offended leg. Grumbling or not, however, Deli did listen to the figure's instructions and piece of advice (if it could be called as such). Training exercise? He could only wonder what that would be, since the hooded man's definition of a staircase apparently also included "pit".
The area they were in now, beyond being cluttered by rocks, was also poorly lit. Already Deli was beginning to get goosebumps, and he pulled out his weapon to be at the ready. "Don't like this . . . Stick back to back and close to each other," he said as he heard (or thought he heard) noises in the shadows.
Out of the fire and into the frying pan.
