Moon Cloud walked through the swamp, searching for that wild lynx of his went to. Following the paw prints that led towards the bramble where Sun Fire liked to sleep. Kneeling down, the buck spotted some color out of the corner of his eye. He turned to look and spotted a doe with such colors that he couldn't stop staring.

A growl from the brambles pulled his attention a little bit. The reddish lynx knew what the kimeti was staring at. It was the reason he went over here. Sun Fire tries to play match maker for Moon Cloud, especially when the doe is colorful. The gray buck stood up, mud clinging to his lower legs as he moved towards the doe.

Foxfire Dance appeared to have unwittingly stepped into a bit of a trap, though whether it was a good or a bad trap remained to be seen. She had been nibbling on a tasty bit of tree fungus when she stepped on a half-rotted bit of old tree root. Thinking perhaps that there might be some equally tasty grubs within she had proceeded to try and kick the thing open... which drowned out the buck's watery approach.

She heard the linx's growl, though. She immediately swiveled both ears and head around to try and pinpoint the source of the sound and saw the buck's approach. Not entirely certain how to respond she stood up as tall as she was able and peered at him from her precarious perch. Should she say anything? If so, then what? She didn't want to leave her tasty treats if he was going to object to her being in his territory or whatever. Err... she would just wait and see what he said first and then decide for certain what to do.

He had never seen a doe with those colors before and seemed to be lost in them. He smiled as she stood taller, almost like she was trying to scare him away. Moon Cloud did notice that she was near an old tree root. "I am glad to see that thing about to leave here. I always seemed to catch a hoof on it, chasing after food." Sun Fire gave a soft groan, wanting to put his paws over his eyes and ears so he wouldn't have the disappointment etched in his mind.

Firefox Dance watched the buck for a long moment, then followed his gaze down to the root she'd been working on. She nodded to herself and went back to work on it with renewed fervor, finally breaking it free of the rest of the tree. It slid into the water more than fell, making only a soft splash. She hopped around the gap it had left and proceeded to drag it through the water and mud to a slightly raised portion of earth nearby.

She spent a moment examining it there before she kicked and stomped at it yet again, finally causing it to split enough that she could pry one piece away and reveal the grubs hiding inside the soft, rotten wood. She nudged the discarded, equally grub-laden piece toward the buck. "Grubs. Some tasty ones. You want?" What passed for manners with this doe still came across as sort of an afterthought to those observing her, but she was trying to be something akin to polite. After all he apparently lived in this territory and didn't seem to feel inclined to be hostile at her for foraging here, so it was only polite to share with her host. Er... right?

Moon watched with an amused look on his face. Most kimeti he seen would of used their mouths or horns to get to the inside, but maybe she was annoyed with someone and taking it out on the log. Either way he had meant it about the root. "Sounds good." He dipped his head to the piece offered, "You should take more, since you did all the work." With that, he flicked his tail at the lynx that was standing behind him. Taking the hint, Sun Fire went looking for something to satisfy his taste.
