The regular season is officially over, and now we come to that time of year that most NFL coaches hate, Black Monday. The day where most NFL coaches are fired in a season. Here's who's lost their jobs already.

Eric Mangini (Cleveland Browns)- after a promising stretch of games which included wins over the Saints and Patriots, the Browns filtered and crashed down the stretch, finishing their season with a 41-9 romp by the Steelers. Eric met with team owners and GM Mike Holmgren on Monday and was fired.

John Fox (Carolina Panthers)- Though the Panthers announced a few days earlier that Fox wasn't going to come back, yesterday we saw his last game as head coach of the Panthers following an NFL worst 2-14 season. Fox led the Panthers to their only Superbowl apperance.

Mike Singletary (San Francisco 49ers)- The team let him go one week prior to the end of the regular season, and though their intern head coach got an incredible 38-7 victory over the Cardinals to end the regular season, the team will hire a new head coach once a GM has been hired.

Eric Studesville (Denver Broncos)- While Interim head coaches Jason Garrett (Dallas) and Leslie Frazier (Minnesota) are most likely to keep their jobs, it didn't work out so well for Eric in Denver. With John Elway most likely coming in to be the new team vice-president, it will be a good first step to getting back in good favor with fans in Denver after the team finished an AFC West last place 4-12 record.

Most likely to be gone!
Marvin Lewis (Cincinnati Bengals)- After finishing last season with a division title, this year the Bengals sputtered to a poor 4-12 record. And while no official word has come out of Bengals camp yet, sources close to Lewis indicate that the head coach will most likely be leaving the team.

Jeff Fisher (Tennessee Titans)- Even with a disappointing season for such a great head coach, many speculate that after a season dealing with Vince Young, and owner Bud Adams who is taking the QB's side that he will be leaving the franchise. If so you can bet he won't be without a new job for long.

Jack Del Rio (Jacksonville Jaguars)- 8 years in the NFL, Rio never won a division title, and hasn't been to the playoffs in 3 years. After leading the AFC South for much of the regular season they blew it in the end allowing Manning and the Colts to go to their record tying 9th straight playoff apperance. Could be time for a shake up in Jacksonville, but no official word has come out as of yet.

Tony Sparano (Miami Dolphins)- His first season as head coach was a good one, since then they fell to mediocrity, topped with a humiliating loss to division rival New England, and a 1-7 record at home. Many speculate he won't get another shot in Miami.

Presumably safe!

Tom Coughlin (New York Giants)- Despite finishing this season with a winning 10-6 record, and leading the G-men to a huge Superbowl win a few years back, the Giants missed the playoffs two years in a row, and speculation started that if they missed it this year Tom may be out of a job. Word has it despite missing the playoffs yet again Tom's job is safe for at least one more season.

Gary Kubiak (Houston Texans)- For years the head coach of Houston has produced good but not great teams which just cant seem to get into the playoffs, after a poor 6-10 record many thougth Kubiak could be out in Houston. Word has it that the team will keep him for one more season, but are forcing him to clean house on his coaching staff to keep his job. This starting with bringing in former Dallas head coach Wade Phillips to be their new Defensive Coordinator.

Tom Cable (Oakland Raiders)- Even after sweeping the rest of the division, the Raiders finished 8-8 and 3rd in the AFC west. Some speculate that Al Davis will fire Cable, but many seem to believe that Cable will get one last chance to make this team a serious contender next season.

This in, After meeting with the team owners in Jacksonville, Jack Del Rio's job is safe for at least one more season. Gary Kubiak of course is safe in Houston after a huge shake up of his assistant coaches and coordinators. And even with a disappointing 9-7 record and missing the playoffs, the San Diego Chargers will keep Norv Turner as head coach for next season.

So here are my questions.

1. Of the coaches who's jobs are in question, who do you think will get fired next?

2. Of the coaches who dodged the bullet so far, Kubiak, Del Rio, Coughlin, Turner. Which one deserves another shot and should come back, and which ones should have been fired?

Cable is safe for now, but I get the feeling that he will be fired because Gruden who was fired after he made the playoffs.

Now Bud Adams could take his coach's side but remember Vince beat up a person for showing the horns down. hmmm This is going to be interesting to see what happens in Tennesee.

For Eric Mangini, I wonder if the Browns know that their franchise is doomed.

You forgot about McDaniels. The best coach to ever get fired. Look at all the stuff he did. Getting rid of their Franchise QB, then their WR and drafting TIM TEBOW and not using him to your advantage.

Now the 49ers have already hired a GM,Baalke. God help us all.

Martin Lewis has had shitty seasons before I don't see him getting fired.

To answer the first question, I believe Marvin Lewis from the Bengals could be fired. His record the past 8 years are a few games over .500, they've never had consistency over a 4 or even 3 year stretch, and they are in need of a culture change because they truly have a nice team and a talented, but young defensive unit.

To answer your second question, all deserve to stay except for Jack Del Rio. I know he'll return next year in part of his large contract ($10 million the next 2 years), but he has proven he cannot bring a winning atmosphere. The Jags are at best a pedestrian team with only Maurice Jones Drew as the true superstar they have. They failed to win a relatively easy division in the AFC South especially with the Colts playing their worst in recent memory, decimated by injuries, or even clinch a playoff spot the last two years as well as losing their last 3 games to lose the division. 2011 will be the last year for Del Rio to get it right or else he's getting the axe next year.

I think Fisher is done. He's a great coach but he hasn't had one thing the team needed. Consistency.

I think Norv Turner should get out already. SD needs a new coach mainly because he somehow always miss or lose the playoffs

Indeed both Jack Del Rio and Marvin Lewis will be back next season.

Breaking news however.

Wed. morning it was announced that the Oakland Raiders will not be bringing back Tom Cable as their head coach next season.

Cable who led the Raiders to their best record in 8 seasons and a perfect 6-0 in their division, contract will be up January 17th, and owner Al Davis decided that when it is up he will not renew the contract of his head coach.

So Tom Cable has become our next tragedy in the Head Coaching Roulette.

EDIT: In regards to the Raiders and Tom Cable, turns out the 49ers asked permission to interview their offensive Coordinator Hue Jackson for their vacant Head Coaching job, and while Davis granted the 49ers to do so. Members of the Raiders organization speculate that Davis does not want to loose Jackson, and has decided not to renew Cables contract so that he can offer Jackson the job as head coach of the Raiders.

Other news, Bud Adams, owner of the Titans decided to get rid of QB Vince Young. And while many believed if Young leaves Fisher would stay as head coach, Titans camp has announced that is not the case, and that they are still evaluating their coaching staff and will decided later if they want to keep Fisher or not.

Typical Al Davis move. He wants to make sure that the 49ers can't get Hue Jackson. Instead the 49ers want Jim Harbaugh. Somebody get Cable guy.

More coaching news.

As expected Jason Garrett has officially been named the Dallas Cowboys Head Coach. Going 5-3 in 8 games after taking over Wade Phillips who went 1-7 in their first 8.

In Harbaugh related news, after meeting with the 49ers the Miami Dolphins made Jim an amazing offer. Offering him over 7.5 million a year to coach the Dolphins. This would make Harbaugh the highest paid head coach in the league if he accepts. To make matters more awkward, Tony Sparano is still the teams head coach. Meaning the team is publicly shopping around for a new head coach wile Sparano is still on their pay role. Tony has one year left on his contract with the Dolphins.

If the 49ers fail to land Harbaugh, other candidates names who have popped up have been Hue Jackson (Offensive Coordinator Oakland Raiders) Brain Billick (NFL Analyst and former Baltimore Ravens Head Coach) and surprisingly Josh McDaniels (Former head coach Denver Broncos) But when asked about the 49ers interest, McDaniels commented that he did not like the personnel San Francisco currently has.

Of course he doesn't remember all the changes he did to the Bronco's. He got rid of Hillis,Cutler, and Marshall. So he would get rid of Crabtree,Gore, and Davis. No to mention that Willis will join some other team if he coaches the team.

As we all know last week the 49ers have named Jim Harbaugh their new head coach. Many other coaching vacancies are still open, but here is another one that has been filled.

Earlier today it has been confirmed that the Carolina Panthers will hire San Diego Chargers Defensive Coordinator Ron Rivera to be their new head coach.

Rivera has only been the defensive coordinator for the Chargers since 2008, but this year he led the unit to being thee top overall defense in the entire NFL.

In other news the Cleveland Browns have interviewed the New York Giants defensive Coordinator Perry Fewell for their HC vacancy, it was also rumored in the Raiders organization that Al Davis also has an interest in Fewell, and that even though he is still considering giving the job to their offensive coordinator Hue Jackman, he may make an attempt to get Fewell first.

This just in. The Cleveland Browns have hired Pat Shurmer to be their new head coach.

Pat Shurmer was recently the St. Louis Rams offensive coordinator. Shurmer will become the Browns 5th head coach since 1999.

In other news the Denver Broncos have brought former Carolina Panthers head coach John Fox in for an interview. Fox was fired at the end of the regular season after leading the Panthers to an NFL worst 2-14 record. Fox however did lead the Panthers to their one and only Superbowl appearance.

EDIT: To the above statement of John Fox interviewing for the head coaching job for the Denver Broncos, earlier today John Elway announced that the Broncos will indeed hire Fox to be their new head coach.

In 9 seasons with the Panthers Fox went 78-74 overall including playoffs.

“Coach Fox is a great fit for us not only with his coaching ability but also with his personality,” Elway said in a statement. “He’s coached great defenses, turned teams around and been to Super Bowls. We couldn’t be more excited to have him lead our football team."

Meeeh. I think that was a so-so move by the broncos. Can't say I agree with it but idk...Even though Fox brought the panthers to their only SB appearance, he managed to also go downhill from there. But maybe, all he needs is a brand new team with new coaches and players. We'll see smile

So far with all the head coaching changes in the NFL this off season, the only team now left without a head coach are the Oakland Raiders. And though Al Davis is taking his time in naming a new head coach, it seems, according to insiders from within the Raiders organization, that the job will go to offensive coordinator Hue Jackson.

In related news, Tom Cable is filing a grievance against the Raiders and Al Davis to retrieve $120,000 in fines by Davis throughout this past season. Rodger Goodell will appoint an NFL official to oversee the situation and makes sure it gets resolved.

In other coaching news, Jim Harbaugh is mixing up the 49ers coaching staff by bringing in three of his assistants from Stanford. This includes offensive coordinator Greg Roman, who will be the 49ers 9th offensive coordinator in 9 years. Vic Fangio who will be the 49ers new defensive coordinator, and Tim Drevino to be their Offensive line coach.

49ers former defensive coordinator Greg Manusky was hired to be the new defensive coordinator for the San Diego Chargers.

Forgot that the Eagles fired their Defensive Coordinator.
