This is the roleplay for mainly just werewolves and lycanthropes. Of course, a hunter may be present perhaps a little bit from traveling far, but it's dangerous land for anyone. These lands are full of the rivalry between the respectable lycanthians and the ruthless werewolves.

About the Area

Young lycanthians are told stories of the wickedness of humans and how they hunt and destroy and waste. However, they are also told of the humans turned beasts -- werewolves. Lycans have always preferred the peaceful, natural way of life similar to that of the Native Americans. However, some things do tend to bring out their more hostile sides: the beasts of the moon and of not themselves -- werewolves.
In this varied landscape, the werewolves prefer to stay to the darker forests nearer to the mountains with many caves and other places to hide when the moon disappears. For if they do not hide, it is likely that those lycans that cannot stand them any longer or the hunters that may come across them will find them in their weakest state of mind and physical abilities. They live by the moon cycle, and most of them are uncontrolled, angry beasts when the full moon arrives. During which, they transform whether or not they want to and turn into vicious killing machines.
Those killing machines, whilst also not respected around the lycanthian community -- are also despised. Werewolves sometimes will kill young lycanthians that wander off and will often, if not noticed on time, raid the villages of the lycans, killing weaker members, stealing their food, and destroying their homes. No, the werewolves may not always mean to, but they are almost always uncontrollable when the moon begins to fill, thus banned from any lycanthian community.

The lycanthians live in large mud and grass -laden homes decorated inside with usages of their kills or just by what they have created with the outside materials. Some of the homes are hut-like hide structures or made of dried grasses or rocks, and the outside of the villages are often surrounded by large rocks made into fences. Of course, that's not the extent of their territory, it just marks their main home.
The werewolves sometimes live in large groups with some organized home plan with large caves holding many caverns. In fact, some groups have figured out how to keep fighting and dangers down during the moon's fullest cycles -- blocking the entrances to separate members' cavern 'rooms' and the main entrance to the cave sealed by large boulders. Some use human homes that were built and abandoned to live in, though the internals are normally plain so that nothing is destroyed beyond repair when they go wild. Werewolves aren't always as barbaric as the lycanthians would like to think -- but it's not like they can do anything about it, much less get close to their 'sworn enemies' to try reasoning. It's only a shame that more werewolves don't chain themselves to trees or otherwise to keep themselves constrained -- then maybe something could get done and they could stop living in the shadows.

Maybe you can find some peace in these lands.

The spirit sparked back into her wolf form as the forest started to become less dense. The trees farther away from the spirit were thin and weak as if just planted. She touched some of the trees, but her paw went right through what would have felt the rough bark. The spirit sighed, but looked back seeing the black fur of the werewolf carrying a smaller one. It was a pup physically seven weeks old and now covered in crimson with fur sticking up in random places where the blood had dried. The spirit wolf bowed her head toward the black furred werewolf thanking him for carrying the pup so far and being gentle with every step. As they neared a small hill leading down to a cave entrance they stood a few moments listening. The black wolf knew what would happen if they weren't careful, but silly Suzume the spirit wolf just trailed along going into the caves.

The dark wolf growled warning Suzume to hold still and listen for predators like the dangerous Lycans. His fur stood on end as he took each step as quietly as he can while squashing the poor grass under his paws. His eyes scanned the area as he lifted his muzzle to smell the air. The air pushed his fur in one direction making the scent carry toward him. He couldn't smell anything and started to walk at a normal pace passing the still frozen Suzume. The spirit sighed and followed along not knowing what the caves had in store for them. The wolf would have to lead them to a safer place where the caves were in a maze.

Her gaze settled on the cave door and a few skulls near the door, she turned her head slightly and with a questioning look looked back at the skulls. The werewolf for once spoke with a soft voice, "The skulls were placed to scare the lycans.....You must be careful if the girl is to heal. The full moon is to come soon and we will be hunted down" His tail moved side to side slightly as he spoke and with his ears alert he looked like a normal dog. His dark fur had some blue highlights making Suzume wonder what had happened to this wolf. She shook her head and turned as she thumped her tail softly against the black wolf. "I am her guardian, she will protected as much as a spirit can protect." The wolf had kept a cool gaze with Suzume, but started to walk ahead. Atsuko was still asleep and her wounds had finally stopped bleeding. The trail of blood would lead to the caves, but for now the scent of lycans and other wolves would confuse anyone hunting them down. Both wolves walked side by side entering the cool shade of the cave making them both shiver.

All day, the lycan pack that lived in the valley just below the mountain range had hunted and fished the whole day to bring together a feast for dinner. They normally had one every few nights, but this one was more extravagant and special than they usually were. With some harvested vegetables and picked fruits, as well as the deer, moose, and fish they'd caught, the pack was going all out for a special occasion. An elder of the pack was passing on his position as the alpha's advisor to another, younger lycantrhope. The event would likely last all of the evening and into the night, until all fell asleep together under the nearly full moon.
Most of the lycans would be present at the celebration, but since they still needed guards to watch the boundaries of the territory, a few had to sit out the first half of the banquet and watch out for danger. Among these chosen few was a young female, only just barely of age to take on such a duty. Of course, she had been trained for a year since she was eighteen, so she knew the routine quite well. She wasn't very pleased to get watch duty on that night, as she would have preferred being at the feast like any other lycan, but she kept those feelings to herself and kept to her assigned task.

There hadn't been much activity from werewolves or rogue hunters in the past few weeks, so she believed that there would be pretty much no activity, same as it had been the past few nights she'd been set on guard duty. This time, however, as the female sat down on her haunches in wolf form, she could swear she smelled blood on the breeze. After a moment's thought, she recognized the scent and warned others nearby with a sharp bark. It was just a precautionary warning, but the smell of werewolf blood meant that one (or more) was close, so they would need to keep up their guard.
If the scent got stronger, she'd have to go out and investigate, but if not, she would just be left on alert until she was positive it was out of range to do any harm, at least in her quadrant. Who knew what it was injured from, though, and if it had brought any angered followers after its life? Those beasts just couldn't be trusted, no way no how.

The black werewolf was already limping into the cave making soft thuds with it's big paws heading toward the scent of home. They would soon reach another cave entrance coming closer to some homes with real medical supplies instead of herbs. The travel through the caves had made Suzume edgy and wild making her want to run in any direction of light or smell of Earth. She hated going in closed spaces remembering once of a cage she was stuck in for many days. The cage was special and was made for Suzume, she has still yet to find out what had trapped her, but she knows the skills she gained has helped her protect Atsuko. She whined softly wanting to leave the close damp walls of the cave as she felt the walls come closer. Some glowing fungi covered the edges of the cave making long eery shadows lengthen the walls and making Suzume's fur stand on end.. She was about to run forward heading toward the scent of the warm suttle grass until they turned a corner.

The soft light of the night broke through the opening blinding Suzume momentarily. The black wolf that they had saved, was limping heavily and some of his wounds had opened making the fresh scent of wolf go through the opening they had come to. Suzume sprinted forward not caring who saw, jumping a foot in the air and landing in the grass as if she was a pup. The black werewolf chuckled and walked softly to Suzume and placed his paw on her shoulder holding her still before she rolled in a circle. They both snapped their heads to the right hearing a howl from a creature. Suzume perked her ears up, but kept her head down sniffing the grass that tickled her nose. The howl didn't sound like that of a werewolf worrying the spirit wolf greatly. Suzume had been on her stomach and body flat in the ground making her look like a newborn pup just coming out to see the land. Her dark blue eyes looked up at the wolf with a sheepish smile and got up stretching her body like a cat.

The black wolf nodded and started to walk softly to the house built into a cave wall, where a door was built to with hold the werewolf during the full moon. It was an empty room where others had chiseled an opening for the werewolf to trap themselves in and could only be opened by human fingers instead of ragged claws that the transformation always gave. "We will be safe there, that is my home. Thank you spirit, I the Alpha invite you to live with me until your pup has healed. She may want to join our pack." The wolf smiled and nudged it's head against Suzume's muzzle making her stiffen. The soft touch made her sigh slightly, but she took a small step back and turned her head toward the house. Her thoughts of the lone howl were dismissed quickly as her thoughts circled around her Atsuko.

She blinked a few times and looked at the blood covered Atsuko wondering what was in store for her. The spirit wolf took a deep breath trying to make her bad vibes leave her body. She had the air around her already which did lift her spirits greatly. She chuckled softly and let her tail shake side to side as she walked behind the black werewolf. The trail led to the front of a modern home, nothign dazzling, but what most homes had. There were some big windows allowing the light to shine in and the moon if they wanted. They both headed home, but Suzume felt the pressure of that one howl come back to her. The black wolf knew it was a Lycan, but would keep it to himself until it was needed.

Now on alert, the lycan could sense things even clearer than before when she had just been on the regular watch duty. Other lycans, not too far off, were also on different levels of alert. She figured that those with less experience would likely be more panicky and those with more would, instead, be more lax about the situation. It was only a warning to keep eyes and ears open, but despite her own amount of experience (which was only half of some of the other lycanthropes) she still felt that this matter just might need further investigation.
Barking a code to the lycans closest to her, she told them that she would do a search around the area, just to be safe. One of the guards responded, adjusting his position to cover his ground and her own. The other told her to wait until it was more urgent, but she was determined to find the threat and make sure it wasn't going to make any trouble for the celebration. The sooner she could find the source and check whether or not the blood trail had led anything in, the sooner she could get back and attend the party.

The lycan made her way further and further away from the territory, following the scent in the air until she came across a blood trail. There were other signs of werewolves having passed through, such as fur and light paw prints in the dirt. The blood trail was pretty dense, so it wouldn't be very difficult to follow it to the source, but knowing it was better to see where it came from before getting herself into trouble, the wolf-shaped female headed in the direction it had come from.
After about ten or twenty minutes, the female noticed that the blood trail was coming from a place too far off for her to venture into. She also knew the place was definitely not meant for someone with her experience and of her species. Baring her fangs towards the poacher's hunting grounds, the lycanthrope abruptly turned around and started running back where she had started following the trail.

With another ten minutes behind her, the lycan once more tracked the blood, but this time, for its source. She could tell by now that there were at least two werewolves, as well as something else that she had never sensed before. It made her uneasy, but she continued on, only stopping once to howl a position out to the other guards. They would likely worry if she didn't tell them where she was, and if they tried to go after her and left their posts, the pack could be in danger.
Receiving a response from two or three other lycans, as well as a couple of wolves, she quickened her pace, ready to find the owner of the blood and be sure they weren't close enough to the pack's territory to cause harm.
She wasn't looking for a fight, but the female was determined to keep her family safe from all danger, especially the werewolf type.

As the Alpha trailed ahead Suzume lingered behind. The indoors brought her no pleasure, but she would stay outside and wait for Atsuko to come out. Suzume heard the Alpha stiffen and turn his head toward Suzume. His gaze made Suzume quiver in some fear, but she lowered her head saying sorry. The Alpha nudged his nose against Suzume's ghostly head making her head slightly move with the small force. Suzume opened her eyes and looked at the wolf wondering what is causing the ability to touch. She can never be touched like this, only if they mean to hurt then she can feel the pain not the soft nudges. She left her mind wander a bit as the Alpha nodded and went on inside to let Atsuko sleep.

The Alpha stepped up the few steps and went through a door that pushed open with little force, but could be closed with locks that ran along the wall. As he stepped through the light from the sun finally left making the Alpha sigh with relief. "Home...." As he spoke the words his hair grew shorter, thinner, his body elongated, and his snout became shorter. For a few moments he looked like a real monster, but after a few moments looked human. He is of average bulk with long black hair going down his back. "God I hate doing that...." He rubbed his face feeling the stubble of a beard coming again. He sighed and looked down at the wolf form of Atsuko. He knelt down and scooped up Atsuko in his arms feeling the rough spots where the blood had dried. As he walked toward the bed he looked at the medicine close to the windows edge where the pain medication and disinfectant would be. He huffed and place Atsuko on the bed where the windows surrounded the bed letting in the moonlight. Atsuko sighed with relief and soon dozed off again as the Alpha reached up to open the Cabinet. Soon the Alpha began tending to her injuries and soon after would curl up against Atsuko sharing warmth. He had a white tank top on with loose pants now blue for pajamas. He dozed off smelling some alcohol where he placed medication over the wounds.

Suzume was outside already sleeping, hearing the Alpha tending to Atsuko's wounds as she curled up under he stairs. Her form kept switching form a solid form, to a ghostly form where people had to come up and look at her to see if she was there. As she snored softly nearly falling into a deep slumber she heard a few steps and howls. Very faintly a few howls grew in the air making Suzume jump up. She jumped forward and exploded in a puff of pale blue smoke and from the smoke came a small blue bird flying up in the trees to hide. Her nose smelt something like a wolf, but a bit more sour or sweet, she couldn't decide. Her eye scanned the area and the other stayed closed shut where the werewolf hunter clawed it. She flew down onto the ground and grew into a wolf feeling better in this form. She stalked forward and looked at the strange wolf wondering what it was. It's scent and form were different from the other wolves she had met. She growled softly seeing the wolf come closer, her growl would warn the young wolf not to come closer. The leaves around her covered her blue form letting her stay covered. She let her growl echo so she couldn't be heard in one spot, but from behind and to her sides. Her mind went back with the werewolf hunter and wondered if the wolf was with him. Her muscles tensed and her clawed eyed tingled with pain as she remembered the fight. She tensed up ready to pound forward to attack the wolf in case she showed danger. Atsuko had enough damage and so did the Alpha, she would have to protect them. Her eye glowed a dull red as her fury ran through her veins making her want to spit out venom. She growled again, but spoke softly keeping her voice in control. "State your business, or die."

The further the female got from her pack's territory, the more wary and on edge she became. Even birds or squirrels moving in the trees spooked her, despite she knew that she would be able to smell such a beast as a werewolf before she would hear it. After a while of traveling, the she-wolf slowed her pace as she noticed that she was quite far from her home. This was almost as far off as the road that led into town, she thought, looking about her surroundings warily as she padded through the leaves and dirt on the ground.
It made her uneasy the more steps she took, as she could practically taste the werewolf in the air. She must have overstepped into their territory by now, she figured. It was definitely time to turn back, especially since whatever danger there had been had definitely disappeared into an area that no sane lycan should ever enter. However, just as she was about to turn around, there was a growl coming from just ahead of her. Perking her ears forward and baring her fangs a bit, the female shook just slightly, as her first thought was that a werewolf had found her.
Of course, by the lack of a heavy scent and the tone of the growl, she couldn't help but doubt that. Still, the lycan took a step back, not completely sure where the growling was coming from now since it began echoing off of the nearby mountain and surrounding forest. Baring her fangs in a nervous "grin", the wolf's tail reluctantly stayed upright, despite her fears. She'd definitely bitten off more than she could chew. Why hadn't she brought another with her to patrol? Why had she went so far away just to investigate a minor issue? Was her distrust and near-hatred for werewolves so deep that she was willing to risk her life in pursuit of them?

Suddenly, there was a voice coming from perhaps in front of the lycan that drug her from her thoughts. The owner of the voice spoke softly, but the tone and air seemed to speak differently, as though whoever it belonged to was controlling anger. By the sound of it, the owner was a female, but that only eased the lycan's tension slightly. Hesitant to answer, the lycan took a moment to take a deep breath, clear her throat, then finally speak in a level tone.
"I've been following a trail of blood that came from the hunting grounds. I was ... concerned that it would lead a hunter to .. the area. It's not .. safe to leave such an obvious sign," she said, fangs still showing a little. She wasn't sure whether or not this thing was a werewolf (despite she doubted it) and if it had backup just waiting to tear her to pieces. All she knew was that it wasn't of her kind or anything she was particularly familiar with, and that made her too nervous to move.

((Going to change the spirit's color to a less painful looking color.))

Only the rustle of leaves could be heard as Suzume stayed very still, listening. She perked her ears up and thought of what to do next. She moved her arm slightly, feeling the tension of her legs and shoulders lift, she growled softly one more time. Her form had dispersed as she became the air again, free and untrappable until she came back. If what the young creature said was true than Suzume had lead the hunters directly to the Alpha's home. She sighed and pushed herself over the young creature studying her from above. She could see the unease of the young creature. She seemed to look at every shadow with keen eyes and a deadly gaze. Suzume could feel everything and speak like she was a solid creature. She chuckled softly and spoke in the creature's ear. "If it is true, I will need your help...." Suzume moved her airy body to the side not knowing what she felt against others. Atsuko had said she had felt like a cold draft, but it was always different with others.

Suzume spoke very softly all of her anger completely gone, but now filled with worry and frustration. "Thank you for coming, I don't know what I could have done." Suzume fought in her head on what to do with the blood that clearly left a path to the Alpha's home. The spirit spoke softly, but more to herself than to the wolf. "I will have to burn the ground....no stronger trail.... my blood?" Suzume snarled softly and started to solidify without knowing. She walked back and forth on a small trail making small thuds as her paws hit the ground. Her mind went back and forth with the possibilities to get rid of the blood and scent. "Something..... trail... stupid stupid stupid!" She snarled louder on the last word tossing her head to the side glaring at the ground. "You should have concentrated......enough.... maybe..." Her form became a see through blue, but Suzume could easily be seen as she paced back and forth behind the young creature. She growled and cursed herself for being such an idiot for leaving such an obvious trail. "Will have to guard.....air? Solid....No." She soon started to blabber to herself ignoring the young wolf who was still near. The wind pushed slightly making the scent of blood come clear. Another rampage of curses came from Suzume as she smelled the blood.

The lycan could feel the tension in the air settle at least a little, despite she herself was still anxious. There was a growl, but then silence fell once more, leaving the wolf on edge as a shiver ran down her spine. She wished that the creature would at least show itself to her so that she could be a little less high-strung, but it didn't, it only made it worse. Its voice made it seem as though it was right beside the lycan, but when she stole a glance over, there was nothing there. That made the female's fur bristle on her neck, despite the words weren't threatening.
Wind seemed to pass by when nothing else moved, which caused the lycan to wonder, but before she could get to any type of conclusion, the voice came again, worried, then seemingly frustrated as it continued to speak. It seemed to be speaking to itself, which confused the lycan a good deal. She even jumped a bit at a sudden snarl coming from it, but right after, the fur on her hackles rose as a form slowly turned visible --well, at least somewhat more opaque than before. The thing..whatever it was, seemed to be concentrating on bickering with itself and not on keeping itself invisible.

Now the words it spoke meant little to the lycan as she realized that this thing must be some form of trickery used by the werewolves. Maybe it was some sort of hunter's trap? She didn't have a clue, but it angered her to think she might have fallen for something.
"What are you?" the lycan asked with more distrust than nervousness in her voice now. Her fur was still standing, and her tail was no longer being forced to raise, as with her mood, it did so on its own. She didn't know what this thing was, or what it wanted from her (besides whatever "help" it spoke of), but she wasn't going to be pushed around by some illusion.

Suzume stopped mid stride and turned her head toward the young wolf processing what she asked. After a few moments she looked to the forest and then back at the wolf wondering how much of a dash she had till she can go for cover. Should I tell her? Well.... she already saw me. She looked at the young wolf's gaze seeing it confused Suzume straightened herself and nodded stiffly to the wolf. "I'm.... I'm dead to put it simply and what are you?" Suzume sat on her haunches and lowered her head trying to look as if she couldn't harm a fly, trying to make the worry leave the young wolf's voice. "I'm sorry to have gone up on you like this...Oh I should have gone the moment I smelled you." She slightly dug her nails into the ground making some scratchy noises to accompany the sounds of nature. There were sudden clashes of leaves and branches hitting each other as creatures jumped from branch to branch on trees. The noise somewhat calmed down Suzume's nerves and the tension of her muscles that were now starting to bother her.

Suzume looked over the wolf, seeing her fur stand on end Suzume got up on her four paws and took a few half steps back. If the sudden appearance of her form made the wolf this scared, she did not want to know what could provoke her to attack. She whined softly trying to win the wolf over, fighting wouldn't help or such fears either. Atsuko needed to be safe from the hunters, something would have to be done with the thick trail. "I need help. How can I get rid of the trail?" Suzume kept her ears flat and eyes pleading toward the wolf ahead. If the creature felt like she was in charge then the wolf could probably help. The spirit needed to protect Atsuko until Suzume finds out what her purpose is. The making of a werewolf with no physical help was rare, and Suzume herself needed to find out why she turned into something dead instead of a werewolf like her sister.

When the see-through creature turned towards her, the lycan bared her fangs, forcing herself to keep steady instead of back away. She could feel that it wasn't some sort of illusion, but her brain was still wracked with just what it might be. However, when the thing finally responded to her question, the lycan stopped baring her teeth and became just a bit less stiff. A spirit, of course! That did explain some things, but the female couldn't help but wonder just why a spirit would be guarding werewolf territory. What's more, why would a spirit take the form of a wolf? She hadn't known any real wolves to talk, so the lycan knew this being could only be something that appeared to be something that it was not. Besides, most real wolves knew better than the be around werewolves.

At the prompt as to what she was, the lycan was surprised. Most werewolves (or anyone from the area) would know that a talking wolf (or even one that was the size of a wolf that she was) was a lycanthrope. How odd; whatever the spirit was or used to be, it definitely was new around the area. As to why it decided to protect werewolves, the lycan didn't know, but she would find out, one way or another.

"I am a lycanthrope, of course," she explained simply, tail lowering from its high position to one a bit more lax. The spirit sat down and lowered its head, then apologized, which made the lycan both suspicious and a bit less angered. As noises hit the lycan's ears, her body tensed up for a moment. After a quick glance around, however, she noticed that they were simply prey noises instead of werewolf ones. That relieved her, and her fur lowered a bit.

As the spirit stood again, then stepped back, the lycan narrowed her eyes a bit, then tilted her head a bit, a little confused until she figured out that the spirit was trying to seem less threatening now. Lightly sighing at the being's plea for help, the lycan's position and fur finally relaxed, though of course, she did keep her ears erect and listening for any approaching noises. She wasn't going to trust this thing completely, but it didn't seem like it meant any harm, so she would help it, at least until she knew its motives.

"It's not easy to cover a blood trail so thick as that," the lycan said with a shake of her head. "The humans won't be too hard to fool, but if what I've heard about a werewolf hunting its own kind is true, then if it decides to follow the trail, you're out of luck." She paused, gaze moving from the bluish spirit before her to the dried blood underfoot.
"However, covering the trail with dirt and diluting it with water should help with both problems. Anyone with a keen nose could just scent the air, but unless the werewolf follows the trail within the next few hours, then the scent will be gone. After a few days, the trail will die on its own, but unless you destroy what you can of it soon, then there will still be some scent to follow here," she explained, slowly sitting down and looking back to the spirit.

She couldn't allow the hunters to go into the area after the werewolf, no matter how much she despised the creatures. If hunters came here, then they might just get greedy and set up camp so they could hunt the area more freely. Though there was an agreement that hunters weren't to step foot in the area, there was no way they could be trusted. Of course, with all of the lycans and werewolves spread across the territories, hunters would have little chance of surviving if they did intrude.
However, even with that, there would still be loss of life, and there was no way the lycan could allow that to happen.

Suzume, seeing the creature calm down slightly, smiled slightly and wondered what went through the creatures head for a few moments before she spoke. The word Lycanthrope rung a small bell in her head, the talk of the wolves were true then. She had traveled here to find Atsuko a pack in which werewolves were accepted and taken care of, but the sudden attack of a hunter had answered all her suspicions. The wolves she had spoken or barked to had told her that the Lycans and Werewolves were ancient enemies only because of the full moon. Suzume herself had seen Atsuko transform in front of her very eyes and destroy towns until Suzume subdued her with many attacks. The noises had made the Lycan look around, but Suzume spoke softly while she was distracted. "Why are you here young Lycan? From what I can smell this is territory of werewolves.... I hear you both don't mix very well..."

Suzume listened carefully and chuckled softly knowing that humans were very easy to fool. Suzume stiffened when the Lycan spoke of a Werewolf that hunted it's own, with her ears straight and fur standing on end Suzume snarled softly answering the Lycan's suspicions. The fight was still fresh in her mind as her right eye started to sting slightly with the memory. "That is the very creature we were trying to run from. The blood that was spilled was from a fight we came out of.... I will ask the Alpha to come and bring buckets of water to wash away the blood." Suzume sighed with relief knowing she could destroy the trail or at least make it hard to follow. She would still have to stand guard for a few days till the trail was completely gone, the problem was her fault. She looked toward the trail of blood and sighed knowing she had a lot of work to do.

"Thank you Lycan, I know of your problems with the Werewolves and wish you a good night. I have work to do to guard my sister and I don't think you will want to stick around for that..." Suzume smiled with a slight twinkle in her eye instead of the dead gaze she always gave. She nodded and half bowed to the Lycan before her form turned to that of a fox. She still had the blueish hue, but she had the stealth and size of a fox. The form of a wolf was bulkier, but was still stealthy. She would turn into other creatures later if needed, but for now she would stay a small fox to stay hidden and guard the land. "Thank you young Lycan, it was nice knowing another scent, I ask if i can walk you home. I don't want the werewolves to get you if the rivalry is true of you two." The fox grinned and shook it's tail taking a few steps forward. She sat on her haunches and waited for the Lycan to lead the way if she chose to leave with her as a small guard or stay.

When the spirit asked her why she was in a werewolf territory, the lycan looked away with a frown. Not mixing well was an understatement since most lycans (at least those in the area) couldn't mix with werewolves at all. Despite that the spirit seemed ignorant of the way things were, the lyan at least felt she could explain the situation more. Might as well educate the creature some.

"I was on guard duty," she began, gaze returning to the spirit, "and when I scented blood and werewolves, I knew it meant no good. So I left to investigate, to make sure that whatever had happened to the werewolves injured wouldn't cause trouble for my pack. I actually was going to leave just as you appeared," she said with only a touch of resentment.
"But I guess it's a good thing we met; if it doesn't get cleaned up soon, then we could all be in for it," the lycan added with a growl.

Standing when the spirit snarled and spoke of fighting with the werewolf, the lycan shook her head and bared her fangs towards the ground. Werewolves were bad enough on their own, but one that was leashed and trained by hunters was worse than a whole group of hunters. At the mentioning of getting the "Alpha" to bring buckets of water, the lycan's eyes narrowed and her head rose to stare hard at the spirit. She could only surmise that this "Alpha" was a werewolf, since she doubted there was a pack of spirits trapped in wolf illusions.

"At least we have some luck; if it truly was that werewolf that I've heard rumor of, then he must have been called off your trail for now. It's likely he won't follow it again until sunrise, if he does decide to follow. Most hunters give up after nearing these mountains. They know of the dangers it holds for them," she said with a bit of confidence. Of course, that didn't mean that the werewolf wouldn't come. After all, did horsemen not send their dogs out before them into the unknown to chase out the hares?

When the spirit spoke again, mentioning the problems with werewolves and a sister, the lycan became a bit curious. So the spirit had a sister? Was she one of the werewolves, or was she perhaps a spirit as well? What was their connection to the werewolves?

Well, whatever the answers were, the lycan figured she would get them from the spirit before they parted ways. However, when the spirit suddenly changed forms, the female took a few steps back. It was only a fox, but it still was unnerving to see something go from one form to the other (despite she'd seen it on a daily basis most of her life).
Nodding when the spirit offered to walk with her home, the lycan found that would be a perfect opportunity to get answers. Of course, she wouldn't lead the creature directly to her pack's territory, but there was still some distance either way. She would get the information she needed; she was positive of that.

Suzume listened and nodded to what the Lycan said was true. He wondered how the Lycans were positioned. She could get information to guard better, but she doubted the Lycan would tell her anything. Suzume growled softly knowing that now there scent was very obvious, but again was glad to met the Lycan. She could get more information of the situation and to see if her Atsuko needed more protection. She nodded again hearing about the clean up and looked up at the trees smelling of pine and oak. She huffed as the wind blew through her fur making her feel better connected to nature.

Suzume looked at the Lycan squarely in the eyes. "The Alpha is a kind person, he only has one problem a month." She growled softly, but thought of the Hunting Werewolf. It did bring fear to her, but not enough for her to take hits. She would be blind through her left eye for a good long time. Spirits even though see through, could take damage if wanted.

Suzume nodded and bared her teeth toward the ground at the though of the werewolf hunting Atsuko. Suzume twitched her ears at the sound of confidence from the Lycan. She clung to the hope that came when the Lycan spoke of the hunters fearing the mountains that the Werewolves guarded.

She looked up as the Lycan took a step back when she turned into a fox. She smiled though and followed the Lycan who was starting to lead the way. The land was very unfamiliar to her, but she would learn she traveled. She looked toward the ground smelling some of the scent that the Lycan had. She still felt the air making her feel better, but of course that would give away her scent...If she had one. She nudged her nose against the Lycan's shoulder wanting to start a conversation. "So what is your name little one?" The starting of a simple question would help her pry into the Lycan. If she in turn wanted to pry into Suzume she would let the Lycan.

She looked down seeing many bugs, but they all went through her as they jumped from a blade of grass to another. She flicked her tail wanting to send a tick away knowing it would want to eat her. "Lycan....May I please know what you have done during guarding. I need tips to help ...My sister survive." She didn't give a name unless the Lycan asked her directly about her sister. Information for Information is what Suzume has learned.

When the spirit spoke of the "Alpha" having one problem a month, the lycan's suspicions were confirmed. She growled lightly at this, but didn't show too much of her displeasure since she still felt she might be watched somewhere. Werewolves were monsters when it came to the cycle of the moon. It was only by the lycan's self control that they did not attack them when the new moon was up. Otherwise, the werewolf problem would no longer be an issue.

As they made their way away from the werewolf territory and towards that of the lycanthropes, the female slowly became less uneasy and more connected to her surroundings. The scents as they neared her home were delicious, and she continually drank them in. Her attention was turned from the trees and earth, however, when the spirit broke the silence and spoke. Turning an ear in its direction, but not doing much more to show she was paying attention, the lycan hesitated a moment before responding.
"Ayre," she answered shortly, not too keen on the "little one" comment. Still, she wondered just how old this spirit must be if it was calling her, a sub-adult, "little". She didn't think she was physically small, so maybe it was just her age.
"And what about you?" she asked, glancing once in the direction of the bluish fox. It creeped her out just a bit that the thing could change shapes and forms so easily, but as long as it didn't attack her, Ayre felt she was relatively safe.

When the two began passing through a small meadow, the spirit asked more of her. This time, Ayre turned her head and narrowed her eyes a bit before huffing lightly and continuing forward. Was this creature truly trying to gain tips, or was it trying to find weaknesses in their defenses? Either way, the lycan felt she should answer, if only with minimal information.
"I do not guard alone, of course, but when I do, I act as though I were. I keep alert and wary of all scents and surroundings. I don't leave my position without informing others on duty, and when I do leave, I always let others know where I am so they will not leave their positions to find me..." she paused a moment, stopping her walking and breathing in deeply. "Hold on a moment, I should do that now."

With no further hesitation, Ayre began a howl, low-pitched howl that slowly rose with her head to a more high-pitched one. It varied a few times, then died down. There was a response howl in the distance, and when it had finished, the lycan resumed walking. After a short while, she decided she might as well get some information from the spirit while she could.

"Why were you in the hunter's territory anyways? If you have been with the werewolves long enough, you should know it's better to stay in this area and not go there... though some are stupid and do so anyways. The hunting there is better because of lessened predators, but it's risky and idiotic to go there," she said, her tone a bit condescending when she spoke of the werewolves and how stupid it was to go there.
