AMITYVILLE ACADEMY ENROLLMENT FORM

Name: Happy
Nicknames: Happy isn't nicknameish enough for you?
Gender: Male
Age: Uh. Let's say 16. Yeah.

Faction/Race Undead – Zombie

Personality: The first thing people notice about Happy is that, well, he's very much dead. He was stuck in the Human World for quite some time before someone finally came along and helped him to Halloween, but even the magic of the land couldn't reverse most of the decomposition that had happened. Where most of his internal organs were once held, there's simply a gaping hole, with only a bit of intestine left towards the lower end. But hey, at least he can just shovel brains directly into his “stomach,” rather than having to deal with all that pesky tasting, chewing, and swallowing! Beyond this, his jaw muscles have degenerated to the point where they are useless, and for the most part the zombie's mouth is constantly hanging open, with a narrow stream of drool dribbling down from it. This also means that the only noises he can naturally produce are the ones zombies are most known for: “uunnnnngggggh” “mmmmmmnnnnnnn,” and the rest of the vocabulary. But how, you ask, does he communicate?! He can't possibly attend school while forming only unintelligible sounds! No, he cannot. That dinky little skull necklace in his hand? It's actually not a necklace at all, but a ~*MAGICAL HALLOWEEN ELECTROLARYNX*~ (which are those things throat cancer patients use to sound like robots), given to him somewhere along the way by someone I haven't thought of yet. Holding the skull to his throat, Happy is able to “speak” through it, and for the most part is capable of communicating just as well as everyone else. His voice through this does not sound like a robot, and instead it's a rather nice spooky tone. If someone were to be a jerk and steal it, however, Happy would be sad, and a sad Happy is sad thing indeed.

Why is this? Because despite the fact that the he has very few things going for him, Happy is an incessantly optimistic individual who just cannot be convinced that life has been unkind to him. Whereas others might be bitter about the loss of their good looks, hair, or at the very least their organs, this zombie has taken it all into stride and truly loves his life... even if he technically doesn't have one, being undead and all that. He's the lowest of the low on the totem pole, but it doesn't bother him in the slightest. Why worry about having hair and a nose, when all he needs to be happy is just a kind word from a friend? He's surprisingly nice, especially for a denizen of Halloween, and very little seems to dampen the mood – the aforementioned stealing of his skull being one way. He has a passive mindset, meaning if provoked he is able to keep a steady head. Anger and aggression aren't really his thing, and doubtlessly they would cause him to fall apart even more if they were. Logic is not his forte, though, and he will frequently do stupid things for the sake of helping out out a friend, even if said thing isn't so helpful for himself. His personal philosophy is that life is not worth living without the company of others, and he is very self-sacrificing to those close to him, if only for the sake to continue the friendship. Friends forever, right? For this reason, he will be an easy victim for bullies and for those who want to abuse his kindness. Not that he'll care; he'll take it all with thumb's up, since everyone deserves a little positivity in their day!

While it's implied, let's make it clear that Happy isn't very smart. Hey, you try being intelligent after most of your brain matter has decomposed! He has the sort of enthused optimism that only a young child should possess. Someone stole his lunch? Oh, it's okay, he can eat later and they probably needed it. Why would they take it otherwise? Every day is a great day for Happy, and it's hard for him to understand that maybe he should be worried about that bad grade, or the fact that he told the witch with that dead cat that it's all good, maybe it'll turn into a zombie cat, haha. He's rather tactless and dumb when it comes to complex social situations, and his constant good mood probably does more harm for him than he'd like to admit.

Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? Happy needs to learn! Beyond the class subjects, he needs to learn how to interact with people and that everyone isn't quite as pure as he would want them to be. School is the perfect place to learn this (bullies, ho!) and maybe his experiences there will help prepare him for the real world.

Natural Ability: Perseverance - Try, try, and try again. While for most zombies this might apply to trying to get through that door to get at the tasty brains within, for Happy it goes beyond that. He'll try, try, and try again to make someone happy or less of a jerk, and generally won't give up even if they stuff him into the lockers every day for a year.

FEAR: I See London, I See France... - You know those dreams the socially awkward nerd always has in movies? Standing in front of a group of people, and suddenly oh noes he's in his underwear and everyone laughs and much woe is had? This is Happy's FEAR, and the pantlessness happens to YOU, HAPLESS VICTIM. Or rather, the perception of it. He doesn't magically poof away your pants, and instead you only think you're standing there parading those panties around. It's an illusion, and only one you can see – those watching, sadly, will not know if you wear thongs, granny panties, or prefer the age old commando style. Happy would rather not fight, and this FEAR stems from the hope that the embarrassment of everyone seeing your bloomers will deter from further altercation. It's not much, but for now it's all the poor zombie can do.

Obviously, this power is ineffective against those who have no pants, and also if you just don't give a s**t about showcasing your bulge.

Hey Wotcher! Told ya I'd drop you a crit when I got back from my social thingy. Here ya go~

Personality
I like that Happy is a very optimistic person, and isn't all WOE IS ME, all the time. I do have a question though. How does he handle name-calling, people blowing off his friendliness/love, or physical torment? With such a child mentality, would his optimism break and cause him to babble incessantly or cry? Can he even cry? > A > Just somethings I wondered about.

A second thing I thought I'd offer as an idea, would be that when his little skull thing does his talking for him, it could actually move as if it was speaking and light up. Idk. I just think it would be amusing to imagine. Though you probably already thought about that, and I'm just being a ninny. XD

Why are they blahblahblah
With such a child mentality and lack of brain matter, will Happy be able to learn? You said he shakes off things that happen to him very easily, so does he learn from his mistakes? Can the person that took advantage of his caring nature do so over and over again, even when it's been proven they are nothing but a bully?

For the Natural ability; would a high Perseverance be counted as one, or more of just a great personality trait? My understanding of Natural Abilities was something only a certain species could have, and any could have a high persevering nature. Though I could be completely wrong here - I'm not a TiH expert. >x<

FEAR; How does this happen? The causing of seeing no-pants on a person? How long does the effect last? Does it work 100% of the time? Does he have to make eye contact with you or touch you to go into effect? Basically, what's its weakness and how does it come into effect? You want to make sure that you don't stray into god-modding territory by forcing a character to do something, and leave things more up to interpretation. You've got a good basis so far with how only the person being affected with the FEAR can see the illusion, and no one else, but supplement the info you've given with a little bit more sustenance so it's better understood how it works.

I hope this critique helped you! You don't have to take everything I say 100% seriously as this is just my own opinion, and he's your character, but I tried to help out as best I can! <3 If you have the time, I'd love to hear any opinions you could offer on my quest. The head mistress eyed the Bin warily. Nothing had happened? At all? The student was a zombie, not an animator, so why would...?

Glancing down, Hellma's eyes widened. What was this?! How in the world could this be! Her Naughty Red Knickers?!She thought she had worn the see-through edible licorice-lace pantie today!

"Snowflake! Fetch my lingerie! And no trying it on!"
