[ORP:FIN] The Great Water Balloon War [closed]

*THIS WILL BE OPEN UNTIL EVENING PST AUG 14th!*

-Assume everyone arrived more or less on time and about thirty to forty five minutes of party elapsed before Dacj, Seth, and Hunter slipped off one by one for the roof. This "pre-party" occurs in the main Hytech thread, see here
-The food table is a safe zone and cannot be aimed for, anyone else is fair game. HYTES MUST POST FIRST IN HERE IN ORDER TO BE TARGETED! (except for elf and Shimy's posse, because it's assumed they're participating lol)
-To introduce a bit of luck into the scenario, dice rolling will be had. Throwers from the roof will designate a target in their post, and roll according to the appropriate table below. Normal Hytes will act accordingly to the result of the roll; "Advanced Hytes" (ie, those with designated combat skill or training) will roll for a dodge rating (so you must post a test post rolling the d6, and then edit your post according to the result of your dodge roll). I tried to keep it pretty simple, PM me (AnimeEyeshime) if you've questions about how to use the system~

For "Normal" Throwing, roll 1 d12
(Dacj, Seth, Most Hytes)
1-4 Direct Hit; 1 is a Critical Hit
5-8 Splash Hit
9-12 Miss; 12 is a Critical Miss
*A Critical Hit is going to land directly on the crown of your head, and probably hurt pretty bad (you may choose to opt out of a critical hit and treat it simply as a regular hit if you'd rather not subject your Hyte to that sort of pain; the conspirator Hytes haven't entirely thought through the physics of launching projectiles off the roof of a two-story building)
*A Critical Miss is when the thrower fails spectacularly and manages to drench themselves

For "Advanced" Throwing, roll 1 d12
(Hunter; any "specialized" Hyte like Kamiko, Eli, Cobalt, etc)
1-6 Direct Hit; 1 is a Critical Hit
7-10 Splash Hit
11, 12 Miss; there is no critical miss

For "Advanced Dodge", roll 1 d6
(applying specifically to "specialized" Hytes, whose dodge is assumed to be far greater than normal - such as Kamiko, who's half a ninja; Seth with his advanced speed; etc. Normal Hytes do not roll a dodge.)
1-3 Dodge (Direct Hit degrades to Splash Hit, Splash Hit degrades to Miss)
4 Dodge Entirely (all hits becomes misses)
5, 6 Failed Dodge (whatever the thrower's roll says happened, happens)



Victims are totally welcome to come up to the roof, though remember to allow for an appropriate lapse of time to get up there. ;3

This thread will probably remain open until sometime Saturday Aug. 14th, and Eli will be the one who closes this up for us. In the meantime, have fun~]

Mena, naturally suspicious being that she was, couldn't help but notice it had taken less than ten minutes for Dacj to slip off once Seth had excused himself. She rather doubted it was for any sneaky romantic purpose (no, she was pretty sure she'd hammered that particular lecture in Dacj's head) but that didn't mean the two weren't collaborating on something else. And knowing her own daughter, she suspected the whole party was quite possibly a front for whatever sneaky endgame the kraken had in mind.

As she stood by the inflatable pool, musing as she surveyed the rest of the party, she didn't have to wonder what they were up to for long.

"I can't believe we're actually doing this," Seth remarked with a laugh as he selected his first water balloon. He wanted revenge on Eli, sure, but the others? Well, there were a few he wouldn't mind soaking. Like his mom, for instance, who had mercilessly pelted him with a water balloon earlier in the summer. Taking aim, he said, "Let's do this."

He hit his mark dead on, but he hadn't noticed that standing right next to his mother was a certain pig Hyte, who received a substantial portion of the splash. "Oh s**t," he muttered, quickly ducking away and out of sight. Baaaad target to soak.

Dacj giggled madly at Seth's "mistake." "If she comes stomping up here, there's only so much I can do to help save you, Seth," she said, in between laughter. She solemnly selected a water balloon of her own, eyed the people below, and let the balloon drop towards her mother's head.

...and it was a total miss. "Awww!" she said, pouting, as her mother glanced upward and shook her head, as if Mena weren't surprised at all. Then again, it was her mother. She probably wasn't surprised.

Melisande, on the other hand, was taking the sudden divebombing from the sky as a personal insult. She took the edges of her sunglasses and pushed them up into her now-sort-of-wet-hair calmly, and cracked her knuckles. "Nobody targets moi."  

[HyTech - Haevan]

Haevan couldn't help himself..the idea of getting a chance to soak a few fellow Hytes and some wayward human caretakers? Sure why the heck not. While the whole party buisness was fun to mingle, the idea of joining in with the trouble makers mounted on the roof tops was to much to pass up. Excusing himself polietely he ducked off to join them. Grinning wickedly the wolf, moved towards the balloon launcher and 'attempted to take aim. "'ncomin'~" he chimed.

"...woopse." his cheeks lit up as he accidently bummed the launcher, the projectile merely kept going...going only to simply end in a harmless 'sploosh' some distance away.

Elf had been chatting very easily with Missy when out of nowhere a hard impact and very large splash of water smacked straight into her. "What the-?!" she said, looking about for the source. Then she looked up. "Ah. There's where they've gotten off to." Well, two could play at that game.

Seth was most certainly screwed, but it was too late to undo anything now. Grabbing another water balloon, he took aim at Haevan down below and let it drop.

He wasn't able to hit him directly, but at least he had been able to splash him. He'd have to aim better next time.  

[HyTech - Haevan]

When the tendrils of water splashed him lightly the wolf turned the gun ever so slightly and aimed at his friend. "Oi." He laughed, firing a round in what he HOPED would be his general direction. Given his last attempt...

Hey, at least he managed to return the favor~ The little balloon exploded just shy of Seth's present location. "Heh." He kept his eyes on the other fellow hytes, least his direction had to change and fire upon another location.

Crap, where had Haevan gotten that launcher from? The cheetah Hyte quickly ducked off to the side, narrowly avoiding the splash and managing to stay dry. Alright, now the competition was really on.


(Seth gets dodge roll as speedy cheetah. Splash degraded to miss. XD Close though, Haevan! ^_^)

Dacj squealed when she realized Haevan had a launcher. "No way, I want one!" she laughed, grabbing another balloon and eyeing the targets below. Missy was starting to make for the roof, so...if she got more wet, maybe she'd give up and go change instead of trying to kill them? It sounded valid enough to Dacj! "Come on, balloon~" she said, tossing it at Melisande and hoping for a better result than last time.

Only to get a second miss. "Laaaaame!" she cried. Melisande moved more purposefully towards to the building.  

[HyTech - Haevan]

As to HOW he'd come into possession of one? Well..it had everything to do with not knowing any better. No one had explained to him that they were off limits..when he'd first arrived at the little gathering he'd spied them from the roof. The wolf being who he was...? The end result was as seen. Sure he'd chill out and help pick off unspecting party goers but a little fun and sport with his fellow 'attackers' was to much to resist.

Grinning he took aim at Seth, half hoping to nail the water shy cat. "Oi..this is amusin' eh Seth?" ... hopefully this one would actually hit him. "Come onn~" he laughed as he noted Dacj's miss. "Eet's a bit hefty." he admitted rolling his eyes playfully.

Maybe. Just -maybe- this one would? Who knew, the Cheetah likely would try and roll out of the way. It remained to be seen~

Argh! He didn't even have time to grab another balloon before yet another one came his way. The cheetah Hyte dodged this one too, and quickly darted over to the water balloon pile to grab another one for his arsenal.

Taking advantage of a brief break in Haevan's shooting, Seth threw a second balloon the wolf's way.

Direct hit! Heh, that oughta teach him, he thought to himself, grabbing the next balloon and deciding whom he should target.

She flashed a smile at Haevan, bemused to note that Seth was having trouble gaining the upper hand, and toddled back to the side of the building for her third and final attempt to peg the pig Hyte--before Missy made it in the building and tried to kill them all. She'd probably get a few rooftop attempts in too, really... "Geronimo!"

And she got a hit! Yes! The kraken paused for obligatory victory dance while below Melisande pulled bits of balloon out of her hair, and an "ARGGGGH" floated up to the roof--it was music to Dacj's ears.  

[HyTech - Haevan]

Not happening, as he had feared. Before the agile wolf could twist his body out of the way the water balloon exploded on his chest splashing the wolf threw and threw. Jumping in suprise at the -force- of these damn things he removed the poor soaked tank top. "Oh eets on." He mockingly shook a paw.

His ears perked at the sound of Missy's voice...oh dear. It had been awhile since he last saw the pig hyte. She was..likely livid. The wolf had to cover his near exploding laughter as the female drew nearer.
