With his lover high in the sky watching over him, Stargarden was keen to impress. He was standing tall, feathers neat in his star covered wings as his ethereal form behind him looked up at his love in the sky as his glowing eyes looked up at her. Oh, how he loved her so. He wanted to get something special for her. A pained look on his face, he managed to look away from her and look around the swamp. Something pretty, something special, something... something... that's it! The crane wobbled over majestically to a single flower growing perfectly out of the soft mound of ground. The flower was the softest, brightest blue he had ever seen before with a budding, glowing golden center wrapped in a green stem. As a crane he slowly approached the flower, his ethereal form looking up at his moon again, and bent down to pick the flower out of the ground. He did this very, very carefully, with the tender touch you would to a small sac.

The crane turned around and was around to go back to meet his moon when a giant moth startled him, appearing behind him. It fluttered and circled around his beak, causing Stargarden to stand very still, worried the moth would bat against the flower or cause him to drop it! He stared intently at it, eyes narrowing. This... this... thing! It was in his way, tormenting him, trying to steal his flower! It thought it was so great, flapping it's wings so it fluttered so rapidly. Well... he could do that too!

While holding the flower carefully in his beak he lifted his wings from his sides and flapped them once, then lifted them one at a time in a similar manner to the moth. He repeated this with his other wing. He jumped into the air, trying to flap his wings faster so he too could flutter! It didn't work quite the way he expected it would, and he landed back on the ground on one leg.

He made a sound at the moth, a rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! sound rumbling in the back of his throat.

It was upshowing him! How could it fly so fast like that! He was determined to be able to. Once again he jumped into the air, this time he started off slow. Flapping his wings normally, causing a small whirl of wind below him. After getting used to that spun around in the air like the moth until he was once again facing it. Then he quickened his speed a little, and a little more. As a bird of his size it was awkward and hard! He was not a hummingbird!

The speed was disturbing the flower in his mouth though, and Stargarden had to make a choice. Continue and ruin the flower, or give up now while he's ahead and save his perfect gift for his moon. He went with his moon, as he always would. He learned a lot from the moth, and the next time he'd be ready for it... but now was time to return to his moon. He would present her with his gift, and apologize for being gone for as long as he had. He hoped she would forgive him, that she would not find a cloud to hide behind. So he left the moth, which didn't even seem to notice, and went back to his ethereal form which slowly disappeared. He looked up at to the clear sky to see his beautiful his moon, and then he took off into the air.
