 Fish Bones lay on the bank, watching the fish dart around in the water. He'd intended to come down and do some fishing, as much for the meal as the bones that would be left over. Instead he'd munched on some tasty berries on the way here. And now, his belly full, he can't get up the energy to do more then watch.
Not that this is a bad thing. Lazing about is good at times, especially when the day is warm. Watching the bright flashes from the fish, Fish Bones half hopes someone will come along. Talking is another fine thing to do when feeling lazy.

Warm is not even the correct word for today's weather. It, instead, borders on insane. It is hot enough to have made Patience's mood go from merely snippy to something approaching caustic, and he finds himself hoping that no kimeti is unlucky enough to cross his path in the mood he's in. It will go one of two ways: the kimeti will be skinned alive, or somehow it will be just the right someone to soothe his mood.
Instead, he finds a kimeti sprawled out on the bank, watching fish dart around in the water. Patience pauses, watching the shimmering scales wink different colors; the effect is soothing, and the air near the water is cooler. It feels better here.
After a moment, he tilts his head. A mild, somewhat disinterested-sounding voice [it's all the rage nowadays to sound bored all the time] asks, "Is this your pond?"

Wonderful timing, or so Fish Bones thinks, as he hears hoofsteps. Pulling his gaze from the flashes under water, he looks at the other buck just as he speaks. "No, my pond's better then this one." Even as he speaks, Fish Bones cringes mentally. To suggest something Kimeti-made is better then what the MotherFather herself can construct.. He pushes the thought aside, figuring that his pond, being based on his naming dream, is about the same as being made by the swamp. Or is it?
Giving himself a mental shake, Fish Bones shrugs, those thoughts are better to be pondered alone. Pulling himself into a sitting position, he looks the other buck up and down. Not a regular occurrence for him, but this one's coloring is interesting enough to warrant the extra look.
((Feel free to let Patience misinterpret that look as FB being interested in bucks XD ))

Patience tips his head at that remark, surprised at the sudden confident reply. From the looks of things (and the look of surprise on his face), he'd expected the other buck to be slow, or asleep. Not so instantly alert. He makes a little hmph noise and then steps into the pool, sighing at how good the water feels against his feet. Oh, sweet water -- sweet Swamp. How good this feels. Even the fish wriggling against his feet feel good. He stands there with an unfocused sort of look on his face until he realizes the other buck is looking at him.
He stands there with his tail lashing, throwing water up onto his flanks and back, and then tips his head. "Who are you?"((his coloring is based off of a hummingbird. c: ))

Still staring, he answers. "Fish Bones." Now his look turns from casual curiosity to appraising. That green on the other buck's back made Fish Bones realize something. He'd very much like his daughter to have children, to himself become a grandfather. This second, longer look, is filled with thoughts of what Hop's children may look like. Not necessarily with this buck, though his colors would blend well.
Blinking, Fish Bones pulls his thoughts back, blushing and looking away. "What's your name?" He asks, slightly embarrassed.

"Aah." Looking around the pond, that much is self-explanatory. Some kimeti have simpler naming dreams than others, it seems... Patience has never understood his own, unless taken in such a way that implies the Swamp has an ironic sense of humor. In reality, it's because, well... Patience needs to learn the virtue he's named after.
He sinks down into the water, sitting in the shallow end so that it comes up to his neck and he can ignore most of the heat. It really is a nice pond, and he's appreciative. It shows in the way that the nastiness goes out of his voice, leaving it warm and pleasant... though still bored. "Patience." He quirks a brow. "Funny that I've never been to this area of the swamp. Had I know how to escape the heat earlier, I might have made my home here. It's quite nice."
He tilts his head at Fish Bones, "Perhaps I ought to have come sooner, to meet a nice buck like you."

Fish Bones is about to say this isn't his home, when Patience makes his last statement. He blinks, a rather confused look on his face. Is he imagining things, or is this buck actually flirting with him? "Your flirting? With me? Why? We're both bucks." Some Kimeti have mental filters, to keep embarrassing or inappropriate content from leaving their mouths. Fish Bones either doesn't have one, or chooses to ignore it. Though, the fact that he actually said this, or rather said it so bluntly, shocks even him.

"Well, yes." Patience blinks mildly over at Fish Bones, looking not in the least troubled by the fact the other buck might not enjoy such attention. "Is that a problem? I don't mean to offend, of course; I merely state the obvious." But with this revelation being brought out into the open, Patience will take care not to make Fish Bones too uncomfortable. "Though your pond is nice. If I've offended, I'll find another."

"I'm not offended, I've just never come across a buck who's attracted to other bucks." Fish Bones gives a half hearted smile, unsure exactly how to respond. On the one hoof, it's not exactly natural for bucks to like each other. But on the other is personal choice.
Fish Bones figures he can leave it at that, at least until questions start piling into his mind. "Have you always liked bucks? What's it like? How will you have a family?" He stops, blushing at the last two questions. "Err, wait. Describing it would be too hard, and possibly graphic." Fish Bones cuts himself off before he can start rambling on about families. Wanting or not wanting children, adoption, or even thinking you don't want kids when you really do. Simply put, children are a confusing choice to make.

Patience considers this for a moment, and then shakes his head to clear his thoughts. Afraid that this silence might make Fish Bones wary, or offended, he smiles. "Don't worry. I'm not offended." He seems to shrug, and then adds, "I won't have a family -- not unless the Mother Swamp sees fit to turn me into a doe, or has some other plan on how to deliver a sac. I don't mind children; I just prefer bucks. I always have. Ever since I was a small one and ran about with the other foals and colts. Something is more appealing about them."
With this, Patience stands, plants all four feet, and shakes himself. Thankfully he's far enough away from Fish Bones not to spray him with water; the end of the shake sees him looking satisfied and content. "Does that help?"

Fish Bones nods, feeling foolish for something that should have been obvious. "Yes, thank you. Maybe when you find the buck that's right for you, he'll have an idea." He ponders this, not sure what kind of ideas could help. "Or maybe, he'll be part of a large family with lots of nieces and nephews to help raise."
Feeling this meeting is done, Fish Bones stands. "It was nice to meet you, Patience. I hope this won't be the only time our paths cross." He nods in a friendly manner. "Have a good day." He gives another nod then turns toward home, his mind full of this new idea. Bucks who like other bucks.

Patience feels odd, in his own way -- having never encountered another buck who reacted so oddly to this particular enlightenment, he feels self-conscious. It's not a way he's used to feeling, but it's not bad. Maybe Fish Bones will have learned something from this encounter. Patience snorts as the thought occurs that at least he didn't run away.
Once Fish Bones leaves, Patience stands in the shallow pool for a moment longer before marking its location; it's quite nice, and perhaps someday he will cross paths with Fish Bones here again. Turning back toward his own more familiar section of swamp, Patience glances up at the sky: sunset, or thereabouts. Still some time for socializing.
