The bulge of Kismet's stomach is an age-old sign-- a quick romance no more lasting than the fleeting, flirting, teasing waves of the ocean. Yet she feels no real regret for that meeting-- the buck had been quite beautiful and, besides that, it was, in some way, perhaps, the will of the Swamp. It's her first time being a mother, though, and as she distractedly walks the soft white sands of the beach, Mystic at her side, collecting the occasional seashell of piece of driftwood, Kismet feels a thrill of worry at the thought of having life growing inside her. It's a dizzying and humbling thought.

Already her gait is weighted and less comfortable than usual, but she is not yet quite at the peak of her pregnancy and will grow larger, still. Here, at least, she feels her sacs will be safest. Here there are less predators, and the large boulders where she keeps her den block out most of the wind and other elements-- providing shade in the heat of the day, and warmth in the chill of night. She is so distracted thinking of her current state that she is nearly oblivious to all else around her-- including any other Kimeti potentially sharing the space with her.

Stargarden was not familiar with this part of the swamp, or was it a swamp? There were less trees, more rocks, an what seemed to be a very fine dirt that kept finding it's way into his fur. The wind was blowing angrily at the stag, telling him this was not where he belonged. Stargarden knew the wind was just being bitter and angry that Stargarden won his battle with the cloud, injuring the wind's companion. The wind was not giving up though and decided it would be fun to blow him into some large boulders. The wind failed though, the boulders were not his death! Instead the boulders were infact circling a bush!

The bush was orange with green roots. This new place had such an interesting bush! Stargarden looked at the bush, slowly approaching it. It seemed to have something white tangled in it... It seemed to be a fruit baring bush. He got closer... and closer, until he was was close enough to grap at the fruit growing on the bush with his mouth.

User ImageKismet watches as the pinkish-blue stag walks out of the trees like something straight from a legend. For a moment, she forgets to breathe. She has never in her life seen a Kimeti like this before. He looks older than any buck she's ever seen, and the glow in his eyes is much more fierce than most (though her own eyes glow rather brightly, too). Too her, he looks like something from the night sky itself, the tiny points of white on his coat like stars.

As he approaches, Kismet takes a small step back before stilling. The look on the other's face is... strange. He doesn't seem to really recognize what she is at all, and she wonders if perhaps this kimeti has gone senile in his old age-- after all, she's never seen one quite so old. Even so, there is a kind of presence to him that seems.. powerful.

"..Hey! Don't eat my starfish!" Kismet shouts, pulling pack and taking the decorative starfish with her, now crooked in her hair, and huffs, Mystic squawks his irritation in turn, feathers ruffling. His mistress takes another step back, safely out of range of any wandering teeth and eyes the older buck warily. "What are you thinking, anyway, trying to eat another kimeti's hair and ornaments? Hmf, and a pregnant doe, at that."

Oh my! Five seconds and Stargarden had already figured out what kind of bush this was! A starfish bush, although the stag had no idea what exactly this starfish was but he assumed it was some sort of fish from the sky. Oh my, what a lovely bush indeed. The bush was the home of a beautiful fish from the sky! He stepped back.

"My apologies," he said to the starfish. "I did not realize this was yours." He said, completely mixing everything up, thinking the starfish was talking to him and had made a home in this kimeti shaped bush.

"Oh, you are baring young. They will have a lovely home here." Stargarden definitely approved. 100% Stargarden approved orange bush by the ocean, a wonderful vacation home for any visiting starfish. "I am sorry for just coming at it like that." Once again, double meaning was Stargarden's friend. He might not seem so crazy today, even if he was talking to a starfish.

Eying the stag, Kismet huffs softly once more, and shakes her hair back into place and pauses for a moment before speaking.. "..Well.. alright. I guess you didn't do any real damage, so I can forgive you. Still, you should be more careful about that in the future, you know. Someone might get angry."

The doe pauses to look around at the beach, and tilts her head a little, "I've never seen you here before... What's your name? I'm Kismet."

The stag looked around at the beach as well before he looked at the bush, and the star, and then looked at them as a whole. It was rude to stare after all! "I've never been here before," he said softly, tilting his head to the side for a moment before tilting it back. "Nice to meet you, Kismet. I was named Stargarden."

The wind was howling behind them and Stargarden turned his head slightly. "The wind does not agree with me being here."

Kismet laughs softly, and shakes her head. "Oh no! It's not, really. I think a storm is coming, though... it might rain soon, might not. Sometimes it just gets windy like this for no reason." She stops and laughs softly again, tossing her hair and sticking her face out in the direction of the wind so it blows full in her face. "I like it. It's so alive.. so unpredictable. It almost seems to be talking, howling like that between the stones, doesn't it?"

The stag did not agree with the starfish about the wind. It couldn't be just a storm! It blew him into boulders and tried to get rid of him as soon as he got into the area. "It is very alive," he said. "It is talking, it's yelling intruder! Intruder!"

The stag moved flower to the doe and further from the wind, glancing at her he said, "You should be careful it doesn't blow in and destroy your home."

Smiling faintly, Kismet simply nods a little and turns toward her sheltered home hidden in between a circle of very large rocks-- a den she had hollowed out and fortified long ago. "Follow me, then, I'll show you to my home. We can stay there until the time passes-- I wouldn't wish for you to be caught in it."

The stag stared at the feet of the doe wondering just how the bush uprooted itself and moved where the starfish wanted it to but after a moment Stargarden soon came to the assuption that the wind just did it. The wind was very angry after all, and Stargarden was spreading the wind's anger onto other creatures! He quickly followed after the creature, not wanting to leave it open to more harm.

"Would be my pleasure to accompany you."

As the wind continues it's heavy barrage, a roil of dark storm clouds passing through to block out the sun, Kismet narrows her eyes against the wind and the flurry of sand until she slips between two rocks, just barely wide enough for a kimeti to pass through. Immediately the wind is cut off, and the air is once again still, and there below one of the large, flat slabs, is the opening to a den that slopes down gently into the earth. This is where the brightly colored doe leads the stag.

Inside, the walls are soft sand, but peeking through them in large slates are great slabs of gray and black stone. Buried by countless years of piling sand, they make it an ideal place for her den. It is rather spacious, too, and large enough to easily stand up in-- if just barely, and wide enough for a kimeti or two to stretch out in-- and then some. She had since expanded it upon learning she was pregnant.

"We will be safe here.. I gathered some food earlier. Berries and sweet grasses and other things there, in the corner. Help yourself, if you'd like."
PostPosted: Sun Jun 27, 2010 3:06 pm

The stag followed the starfish, and slowly, stopped hearing the yelling wind. He felt a little cramped the den though, being taller than the bush he took up more room than it. It was very... dirty. He wasn't sure what this sand was, but it was dirty. Dirt everywhere. Sandy would be a better term but... it was just dirt. Rocks all around, stones. He felt like he was in an unknown place. Not like his hiding nooks in the swamp that were moist and full of roots, this was hot and dry, and very flat.

The stag sat next to the berries and sweet grass in the corner. He did not wish to bump his head, and sitting was the best choice other than the choice of changing into a crane. He did not think of that though. He looked at the bush and the starfish who ruled this area, and nodded, "Thank you," he said, taking a few berries in his mouth. He wonder just how he could thank this starfish who had hidden him from the vengeful wind, and even fed him. He finished the berries.

"This is a nice place. It is very large for just yourself, were you expecting company?" Perhaps some more fish from the sky were going to come down and stay here!

"You are welcome," Kismet smiles, and her voice is kind. She sits near the stag on the other side of her gathered food, and takes some of the berries and sweet grass for herself while they wait out the storm together. Inside, at least, the air is of a comfortable temperature. Neither too warm nor too cold, the sand acting as an insulator.

"Thank you... I made it bigger after I learned I was pregnant. It was easier for me to expand then, rather than waiting until I am too large to move comfortably. The young ones will need room to move around inside the den, before they are old enough to wander outside of it for very long."

The stag's ears perked up for a moment. More fish from the sky!

"Oh," he said. "I wish you many, many children to suffice all your hardwork."

Kismet looks up in a bit of surprise, a somewhat humble blush spreading across her face and she bobs her head slightly toward the stag in acknowledgment. "..Thank you, I think." She laughs softly, a pretty, free sound and then stands with a soft huff of breath to wander a little closer to the edge of the den. The sound of the rushing wind and rain had quieted while they sat, waiting it out.

"It looks like the wind has stopped, at least, though it still rains a little. I think it should end soon."
