Hooray for pretentious moderators in other guilds.

I certainly don't mean the moderators in this guild, no, they are delightful smile
What I mean is... I posted up an art shop in this one guild. Things were going pretty wonderfully, fantastically. I was getting business. The thread became pretty noticeable as it increased in size.

I guess this mod saw this as an opportunity to target me, or something. I will call this mod "R."
R told me to not bump my shop when it had no slots.
...but it DID have slots, when he posted this. It had open request slots for a few hours.
Plus, nobody was bumping. They were just talking about their orders.
So I reply in a completely bewildered manner with "...what?"
R tells me that I should stop playing dumb.
I still don't know what's going on, so we take this to PM.

I ask him to point out where in the rules of the guild it said I couldn't do business with my customers in my own thread.
He said it wasn't in the guild rules. just the rules of the minishop forum.
It would be nice if somewhere in the guild, they stated that they went by the rules of the minishop forum. So I check there.

Still no rule that I apparently broke. I point this out, my thread gets shoved into some decrepit forum because I defended myself. R doesn't even bother to read the argument I carefully considered and typed.

...just blowing off steam here.

And judging from some of R's posting history, he likes to bash other artists and call it "constructive criticism." He has told people things like "your art just plain sucks."

I don't know how a person like this could be a moderator in a guild, but I've already left that guild behind. There are much better places to do business.

And he probably only bashes people because of how good they actually do draw so same for you. You should've copied the pms and the arguments and sent it to a moderator on a higher level than him.

But at this point I don't even want to touch the guild anymore.
On top of that, R has kindly deleted my thread, leaving me with NO access to my waiting list. I don't know what order the requests go in, or from who half of them are coming from. Siigh.
And he's going to tattle on me to one of them higher moderators, for arguing :/

Wow, that is just nuts. I would never do that to anyone in my guild. And if I found out that any of my mods were doing it, they would be demoted and banned faster than they could send me a complaint.

Sadly, my guild is brand new and it's not active enough for me to need any mods. sad

I finally got the guts to contact the captain and she felt pretty bad about it... so I guess it would be... "ehhh" to denounce the whole guild for the action of one moderator

I remember this one moderator who got into a fight with my boyfriend who got offended in one of the posts and she told him: You don't post much anyways. It wouldn't matter if you stopped posting, no one would miss you anyways, cuz no one cares.

Or something along those lines.

I have no idea why people that stupid and mean get shoved into the moderator position...

I also don't know why they have so much power. I say move your shop here. lol

The most you can do is contact the captain about this kinds of things but only some captains take action. :/

You know, you should just stalk him, find his weak spot (other than between the legs, of course) and bash it as hard as you can!! D< ...Or you can just let it go and pretend you're totally chill. Make another shop, but this time contact a different moderator for some support. (Or befriend another mod. >D )

I do have a question though. Is there a way to know if someone you're promoting is an absolute ***** ********* ******? :3 Because I most certainly don't want something like this happening in my new guild, which would need A LOT of different mods. D;

hmmm, one way is to look through their post history, that's usually a pretty good indicator of how they would treat strangers on the internet XD
