Set:

You are one of the many guests invited to an esteemed noble's home for vacation. However, the host seems to be absent, and the few servants that are left have been driven mad by some unseen force... Since dinner has already been laid out, you and all the other guests decide to stay the night. How long til every guest meets his/her end? Or will the guests (or what remain of them) uncover the mystery behind the host's disappearance and bring a halt to the disastrous events befalling them?

In this story, it's located in Ireland. (which according to wikipedia is a "majority english-speaking country," so it's all good biggrin )

Conditions:
This is a horror/mystery type of rp. Supernatural abilities are not encouraged, but allowed. You can create your own "enemy" characters. Each "guest" can turn from a victim to an aggressor, or vice versa.

Personal history or anything else you want to add can also be put in when the guests meet and introduce themselves to each other.
Weapons and anything that you can't take to a dinner party can be provided for at the mansion.
Waldo and other family relations will have profiles posted, but they are not meant to be active characters.

There are a -few- servants remaining in the mansion, but they were recently hired to take care of the guests during their stay. They don't know anything else other than the basic necessities they need to perform their duties. These characters may be created and freely controlled by any participants in this RP.

Relation to host: He is the host.
Special skills (investigative/fighting): Being English. His specialty is to fade out of existence until we reach an undisclosed point in time

Special skills (investigative/fighting):Investigative: Good memory? Fighting: She has extensive martial arts training but is not fond of fighting.
Appearance (image or description): Chest-length straight blond hair, gray-green eyes. Usually wears all black, particularly skirts with long sleeves
Anything else? She's interested in drama and all her skills stem from it.

Occupation: (international) investigative photographer, college student

Relation to host: Mr. Gilfax supplied him the money for his college tuition and hired him to conduct several investigations for his company.
Special skills (investigative/fighting): He has no special defensive skills and doesn't carry any weapons.
Appearance (image or description): A slim young man with a height of about 5'8. He has short, cropped black hair, red eyes, and pale skin. He wears a baggy, long-sleeved black shirt and black slacks.

Occupation: Actor, vocal artist and dance specialist
Age: 18
Relation to host: Adam has been in many of the plays and shows that Waldo has produced.
Special skills (investigative/fighting): Adam is very skilled in noticing small details and can use them to make a hypothesis on a crime scene or disappearance. When it comes to fighting, Adam is a professional swordsman.
Appearance (image or description): He is about 5'11'', slender, has dark green and blue eyes, and usually has a cigarette stuck behind his ear.

Name: Gwendelyn(Gwen) Brindle
Occupation: College student and mechanic
Age: 20
Relation to host: Host's neice
Special skills (investigative/fighting): She is very intelligent when it comes to interigations(sp) and things like that. When it comes to fighting, she can fend for herself by using tools.
Appearance (image or description): She is 5'6'', skinny as a stick, she has a light brownish-yellow eyes, and always carries a brown satchel that has homework, books and tools in it.

"I'll be fine, you two just have a nice vacation. Don't forget to write!" Aurasine waved to her parents as they drove away. After a long moment, she shifted her bag to her other hand and walked up the cobblestone path to the Gilfax Mansion. The double doors already open and music playing beyond it, she let herself in and set her white heels in the corner, where other shoes were.

The greeting hall was the same as usual, decorated sparsely with a few banners and streamers.

Her best friend, Ellasyn Gilfax, told her, "It's a formal gathering and all of Dad's relations are supposed to be present. He said I could bring a friend though, so I don't get bored."

"I doubt my aunt and uncle will let me go...my parents are going on a private vacation for the summer."

"Dad's already called. You're staying with us."

"Lock me upstairs then. I don't have a dress and you know that."

"You can use one of mine. My brother picked out an absolutely exquisite one for me while overseas, but I'm too tall."

Aura stared at her friend like she was blubbering nonsense

"Fine then. I'll just tell my brother that he'll have to let me hang out with his friend too" Elisa replied, as if she didn't care.

"Elias is back?"

"Picking him up tonight," she said, still ambivalently.

"Oh."

Elisa smirked. "Be there at 5:00 p.m. next Saturday with your luggage. Party is at 6:30, in the ballroom."

Aura poked her head tentatively into the ballroom. There were a few servants, but no guests yet. She guessed Elisa would be in her room, and dragged her luggage upstairs, to the room she would be staying at. She peeked in it and smiled. Except for lacking a few personal touches, it looked like her room already.

Fifteen minutes later, Aura had throughly unpacked and was searching through the closet. She whistled. Someone was through. Elisa had obviously had a servant pick up Aura's clothes from her house for their summer together.

"Eh?" She had found a note taped on the bench in the bathroom/ closet: "Other room smile "

"You kid me not," Aura said when she entered the adjoining "common" room that Elisa and she would be sharing.

Laid out on a seat was a magnificent, violet and white gown that Aura had been sketching and dreaming about for the last "3 years," she breathed, touching the material lightly. A separate note was scrawled in Elisa's writing nearby: "Handmade to your size in New York. And that necklace is real amethyst and diamond smile . I bought Elias a car for this so you better wear it."

Gilfax is English, and they live in Ireland.

Someone else can enter now and Aura will come down to join them. ))

Adam stepped out of the limo and straightened his leather jacket. God please be entertaining or I might just commit suicide... The tall driver brought the bags over to him and put them by his feet. "Thank you Jim, I'll take it from here", Adam said with a flick of the cigarette in his hand to get rid of the ashes.

"Have a nice time, sir", Jim said as he watched Adam pick up his bags and start on the path to the mansion.

Only two bags... They'll think I'm poor. What ever, these parties are over-rated anyway... He finally made it to the door and made his way through into the foyer. the group of shoes caught his eye and sat his converse by them. He chuckled a little at the sight, fancy shoes everywhere and just a random pair of muddy sneakers.

"Ok, bye guys! Don't forget to pick me up!", Gwen shouted back to her college friends. Freaking psychos, I love 'em. She repositioned the satchel on her shoulder and walked on the cobble-stone path. Once she was right outside of the mansion she laughed, "It's been to long." Practically running, Gwen rushed into the house and shouted, "Ellasyn! Your favorite cousin is home!"

Aura poked her head down the staircase at the sound of guests. She lifted the material of her dress quietly and slipped downstairs.

Where is everybody? Elisa isn't anywhere, and Mr. Gilfax isn't anywhere to be seen and I can hardly find a trace of Elias...

"Father's never late," Elisa had said seriously at lunch one day. "Never. If he's late to a meeting or party, it means something's gone terribly wrong."

Aura glanced at the antique clock hun on the wall. Five after six. So he's not really late, is he?

Once downstairs, Aura recognized the two people that had just arrived. "G'evening, Mr. Printz," she said politely, but turned quickly to Gwen, "I can't find Elisa or Elias anywhere--I'm guessing Mr. Gilfax is in his office, but Elisa's nowhere to be seen." She laughed, "Sorry for my rudeness, welcome back" she said, hugging Gwen and smiling.

Adam nodded at her and said, "I hope they won't be long, I'm starving! I assume afterwards Mr. Gilfax is gonna talk about another play", he chuckled, "He asked me to stay the weekend."

Gwen kicked off her boots and said, "Wow, so we got an actor in our midst, impressive." She hugged Aura and said, "So... We're suppose to be dressed up formally right? I can see you already got that department covered."

Aura grinned at Gwen and silently agreed with Adam.

"I'm hoping I can help paint the set again this time," she said quietly, heading for the ballroom to find Elisa. "What do you think this play will be about?"

"Probably another giant romantic chick musical where my shirt comes off or I cry. That's all he really puts me in, I mean I could totally be a rough and tough character. I don't mean to brag, but I'm a pretty good actor", Adam said as he followed Aura.

Gwen followe and laughed histerically and finally took a breath to say, "Hon, tough guys don't say rough and tough. Just face it, you tend to be better at playing sensitive men. Well except for when you were in that movie, now those action scenes were awesome!" I'm a liar...

"Liar, that movie was low budget and the director hardly spoke English", Adam called back.

Gwen froze at the comment. It's like he knew what I was thinking...

"I liked that one. If you don't mind my saying, Elisa and I spent hours mimicking the lines and scenes." Aura laughed. "We probably spent more time laughing than acting."

Nope. I wonder where they are... "In any case, it seems the food is already set out... shall we partake?"
